For me personally, the peculiarity of the project is that all users have the opportunity to earn crypto-coins on the joint use of disk space.

Bunch of angry people.

Payouts for March have been going out very slowly.  They will be followed by payouts for April.  It's not a money issue.  They wrote a new script and it has had bugs, such as multiple payouts to the same address, or payouts that were 0.  It SHOULD be a higher priority than it has been.  I don't know why it hasn't been given better attention.  But you will be paid.

Storj v2 (Current implementation) is going to be replaced with a new protocol Storj v3.   They are having a Townhall in early June where the public can ask questions of the team.   They will be sharing details about v3 during this time.

As for the guy who says he bought a 100,000 dollars in tokens and didn't receive your tokens.  You can send an email to support@storj.io regarding this transaction.  It would be best to show proof of your transaction such as the transaction id, and the wallet address you were expecting to receive the coins to.

I am new about Storj. I trying to fully understand..
I have about 2TB of memory which I would like to provide. Does it make more sense to have many small nodes, or one big one?

If I understand correctly, better 1 large.
Previously, some farmers made such tricks: they created a lot of small knots (on the same ip with different payment addresses) and each received a basic payment - this is fraud. Then the developers began to check, and if they found that there is more than one payment address on one ip - then payment came only for 1 node / address, the rest were not paid.

2 TB - this is not a big node))))
At me 3 Tb and earlier I received 3-6 coins a month. This is very small.
Although this is because my driver is only filled with 0.5% (1.5GB), only the space is paid, I understand.
But as a matter of fact the drive works in vain, for a month nothing new is downloaded.

I read, one guy from Russia hooked up a very very many drives (100 pieces seems, I do not remember), and he also did not download anything. He was shocked.
(If necessary, I'll find a link and I'll give it here).

he writes that he has 100 disks of 3 TB

Yes, really disappointing. Seems like things completely slowed down since they collected a lot of money in the token sale. Sad

It would be really great help from your side if you can spend 60 seconds of your time and give us your valuable feedback for our two recent updates 1) Snapshot and 2) Colourful interface of Storj at: https://cointopper.com/coin/storj

Constructive criticisms are always welcome at CoinTopper.  Thank you!!

I invite you to actually check the github activity if you doubt the amount of actual activity going on with the new Storj network being built right now https://github.com/storj/storj/

Please also attend the upcoming Townhall meeting on June 5 where you can voice your concerns as the team will be answering questions. You can follow the Storj twitter handle @storjproject to get the link to the townhall live stream.

Is storj data encrypted? Also stored in redundant locations to Accelerate and maximise chances of retrieval?

I have been using Storj sharing for about 3 months.
& I left by this reasons:

1.- They take too long to pay, after 3 moths no payments
2.- There is much more people sharing disk space than people requesting for space, after 3 months I only shared 22 GB in the first 10 days an then nothing, so looks this is going to be worst
3.- You have to use a third party wallet and expend ethereum to make transfers. With this many years on the scene... Why the hell don't they make an own wallet?

Yes it is, every file uploaded to Storj gets sharded (divided in small pieces) and encrypted before it leaves your machine then all the shards are distributed over the network to different nodes in multiple copies.

Take it easy, Storj ain't a scam, the team has had issues with March payout which is slowing the payouts after that. March needs to be finished first for the others to go through.

They have also been very upfront with it and published content about that on their blog. If you follow them you would have known as I do.

They have been talking about this on all their channels, including Twitter, Telegram, Rocket Chat and the blog.

They have also released a web app so that everyone can check their payouts amount and status by pasting in their payout addresses.

More info here: https://blog.storj.io/post/174630079933/new-farmer-payout-app-live

You're good, good retell for a long time said before you. But recently something went a lot of negative about the honesty and competence of the developers themselves. This is already alarming and there is something to think about.

How does this work exactly? you say that you are trying to be the cheapest cloud storage, given that how could some body earn while others want cheap storage?
