What is it that will be fishy enough to keep Osimhen from playing for Galatasaray in their last three matches? Is it a serious or minor injury? Haven't you seen or heard at times, the way he gives his might to the Super Eagles to make sure they have a match victory. He does have injuries along the line, denying him some playing time for his club "Galatasaray".

Our prayers and hope at this time are for Osimhen to recover soon from his injury because his team needs him, and so do the Super Eagles need him.

The AFCON 2027 qualifiers are about to start, and I’ve included a few matches in my parlay specifically these ones:

Mozambique - Senegal

This match involves my home country, Mozambique. Senegal actually requested that the game be played here. honestly, I’m not sure if they realize the stadium conditions aren't great much like the state of everything else in the country right now. It’s the fault of the regime governing us. Strangely, I’ve noticed bookmakers shifting the odds significantly in Senegal's favor: they started at 1.20, moved to 1.28, and then to 1.45 I’m not sure why. Maybe they aren't familiar with our national team. Ever since the coach demanded (or rather, insisted on) a massive salary hike, the team hasn't been able to win a game. He reminds me a lot of Gabriel Jesus, who didn't play regularly at Arsenal due to injuries and had to leave; he didn't play much at the start at Barcelona either, only coming on with just a few minutes left in the match. It's good to have a team built around someone, yes it comes with a few disadvantages but I think it's good, it has more advantages. When a team has someone they can rely on it is very good because all other players can easily just work for the player and leave the rest to him. The worst will be when other players are not doing their best for that particular player, it makes the work harder for him just as it is in Osimhen's case. Other players are not really helping much and it is why whenever Osimhen is absent they struggle to win games.

Playing as a team doesn't necessarily mean they have to possess the ball, they can just easily make it their responsibility to defend hard for Osimhen and feed him all balls so he can do is thing. I think when Osimhen retires a new player will take the responsibility.

No lies Osimhen is a machine, but don’t say the team was built around him. It’s just the hype and more attention towards him. There are other too players on the team too trying.

Osimhen has not consistently played for national team for sometime now, but they’ve been doing their thing even though it’s not impressive enough. I would have agreed if you mentioned his club Galatasaray, because he plays better there obviously. Same with lookman, iwobi and others. They play well in their respective clubs but struggle in national competition.

I think you're over thinking bro. Osimhen is genuinely injured and has missed several matches for his club including the champions league opening. I don't think he's faking the injury to avoid playing for Nigeria. I would have had the same thought if he was playing for Galatasary and then claimed injured during the international break. Osimhen is the kind of player that normally turn up for Nigeria when the need arises and he's fit to play. Victor Osimhen from beginning like the National Team and enjoy playing and that was why when Finidi George didn't used him in the 2025/26 Qualifiers, he got problem with him. And really when Augustine Eguavoen became the interim coach of the Super Eagles and Victor Osimhen was included in the team and im do am well. Any player who is serious about the team must co.e on time and not to come late for training. If they want to do extra sports activities, they can do it after the match or in their leisure times (break period).

While I agree Super Eagles are dependent on Osimhen, I don’t buy the idea that the team was built around him. Which of the managers built that system? Eguaveon? Finidi George? The reason why you may believe that is because Osimhen is a player that can single-handedly change the trajectory of a game. Nigeria has not played like a team for years, we have individually brilliant players but cannot win competitions. It’s not the fault of Osimhen rather it’s a management issue.

The CAF Nations cup qualifiers matches just kicked off and nobody is talking about the matches that was played today. I thought this thread is about discussions concerning African football and not only Nigeria.

Anyways, here is the results of the matches that was played today:

The match that surprised me most was the match between Sierra Leone Versus Zimbabwe because Sierra Leone won the first half with 2:0 only to return back for second half and Zimbabwe equalized and still won. It was really a great comeback by the Zimbabwe team. It's been long I see that kind of comeback.

Nigeria will face Madagascar tomorrow, hope they win that match.
