NFF doesn't have power on the democracy of the country so they're not the cause for the negligence of democracy in Nigeria but however their power and roles are mainly for the sports in the country and there corruption is as high as the politicians in Nigeria, other countries sports president is taking their role as a personal responsibility to forward their national teams so that they wouldn't fear any country in the world and by making sure every amount the government is spending brought a profit to the club but is contrary on our NFF because their actions for money  means that they took the role because of it.
Of course NFF has nothing to do with the democracy of Nigeria, I would not respond to any other clause that relates to that so that I won't go off, but they are politicians, even if their functions is to oversee anything that concerns Nigeria sports, talking about corruption, do we think that most of the things that has happened, starting from the mismanagement of funds, that led to match allowances unattended to, that the government are unaware of all this thing going on in NFF,  once a sincere government releases money, they don't just sit down, the make sure that, what the money is released for, is been done.

You are using other countries as a scale of preference, my dear, it will be difficult for the NFF president to do that in Nigeria, it is unfortunate that NFF has made the country football, worth nothing.

The NFF executives and President are all politicians because they were elected into office. It is true that the government is fully aware of the happenings but would not say a word till the people it matters decides to do the needful because the government structure here is "chop I chop" nobody interfers into another office matter as they all are given the opportunity to loot as much as they can without anybody been questioned for their actions. I will not be surprised to see the current investigation dead on arrival because they all are birds of the same feather.

FIFA and the FG often allocate Millons of dollars to the NFF in order to develop our football from the grassroot. Yet we don't know where those money are going. Instead, they use it to fund their lifestyle while our local league suffers, even the national team players both men and women are still owed their bonuses. I think one of the reason why we haven't qualified to 2 world cup editions is as a result of how the structure of the NFF is. They don't want to develop players properly, they use favouritism at times. Out of all the Stadium in Nigeria, only one that meets up to FIFA standard.

This is kind of issues someone will expect the EFCC to investigate, yet they are always silent when it comes to the big guys. For Nigeria football to progress, we need to flush out every staff of the NFF and replace them with people who are honest and wants the best for the nation. I know it's not possible, because corruption will still find its way into their minds.

Also, in the past years, allegations of huge amounts of money going to the personal accounts of NFF-related people have also surfaced. Therefore, the government should thoroughly investigate the players involved in football and this industry and bring the corrupt people under the law. Not only that, the government should also conduct regular independent audits of the NFF and related organizations and make arrangements to pay the players' dues directly to their bank accounts, so that there is no opportunity for corruption in the future.
When political bodies are involved, you usually don't see everything happening in public. They do things quietly, making sure that nothing gets out because they don't want to damage their reputation or be exposed for their involvement in corrupt practices.

Every player has a right to their bonuses and rewards. After playing for your country and representing it internationally, you should be entitled to what you have earned. The players deserve those rewards.

I'm not surprised that the Nigerian government would still withhold their money after they play in international tournaments, considering how poorly these things are handled.

Every sector’s in this country is just full with corrupt set of people, because I don’t know why players will struggle to play matches, they going to train, and you end up not paying them their bonus it doesn’t make any sense. I don’t blame some players that are Nigerians, but they choose other countries nationality over Nigeria. When you play for other countries, there will be proper health care, and they going to pay them their bonuses, but this country is different.

Most people out there are just corrupt, and they just looking for opportunity to steal. Players struggle to play, but sometimes group of people are somewhere embezzling money which is suppose to be for other people.

All Nigerian leaders always uses the money that's meant for the person they are representing for their own well being and their families, making me wonder if God is truly with African, because I don't understand why leaders in other continents will always put the people they are representing first, but in African the reverse is the case. I'm also in support of any Nigerian player who chooses to represent another country since the NFF doesn't care about the well being of Nigerian players.

Corruption is everywhere, what only make the difference is the rate at which some people are doing it and how they are also making it obvious to the world on this, government are not monitoring every penny they are issuing out on the sports sector, which is a very big challenge the players might be facing as regard their budget allocation, but I will always not support the players reaction towards this as well, because they shouldn't be after what they receive as a compensation to determine their performance as a career professionist.

The stigma is already in the players based on how the past footballers who sacrificed their time and quality for the country but wasn't noticed when they had one or two big life challenges. The country abandoned them. Maybe, that's why you see that this generation players are behaving like that. They put the money first to motivate them on the pitch.

You made a good point but I'm glad you also understand that it's not possible. Where will you see honest people to manage NFF when people that are responsible to make decisions are not honest? People that stand the chance and have access to be in that position are not honest and people that are honest don't have what it takes to be in that position. The problem is bigger than what we are seeing from outside, only people that are involved in the system knows what the problem is from inside. It's like vicious circle, the more you try to solve one problem, the more new problems are created. If we want to do a thorough review, even some of the players should not in that place.

In most countries, the football industry is managed by ex-players. These former players understand the game and can manage the NFF. Some of these players have acquired management skills from different educational institutions that could be helpful in their quest to turn the industry around.

But the government prefers to offer top NFF or sports positions to politicians. If we can have some faithful ex-players take over football administration, there might be some improvements. I still fear that they might also become corrupt because they can be influenced by some bad eggs.

You forgot how the NFF refused to pay the Super Eagles their incentives during the Afcon, which led to a nationwide storm of reaction when the players said they won't train, unless the money is paid. Young footballers who see things like this happen to established players in the country, they'll be no usefulness in dreaming to play for Nigeria.

I'm also in support of any Nigerian player who chooses to represent another country since the NFF doesn't care about the well being of Nigerian players.
You forgot how the NFF refused to pay the Super Eagles their incentives during the Afcon, which led to a nationwide storm of reaction when the players said they won't train, unless the money is paid. Young footballers who see things like this happen to established players in the country will have no use in dreaming of playing for Nigeria.
Apart from the demotivating the young players with the way the Nigeria national team are treated one other things that Nigeria players at present active participation at present are having is the urgent need of welfare of players and other team officials, which can be seen in the way that players are treated even when at current nations leagues and international, as big as Nigeria os, there is no National training camp where players can be hosted before match to allow players dressing room improvements.

It is normal that all these attributes would play but what has the government put in place to checkmate the activities of NFF as the football body of the nation. They don't monitor their activities after allocating funds to them because they are their fellow in active looting so what's the point. If the government could hear about the port treatment metted on the player's and do not take action, what do you think about it?
The EFCC you talk about are still the same partner in active service so what do you expect them to do? Like I say initial that we should not be surprised to see that their investigation is dead on arrival as they are just a more toothless bull dog's that only knows how to bark.

Ex-players managing the football leagues will really make many improvements in the players and the league in general. But one thing about most governments is that they prefer giving managerial contracts to people they know instead of giving them to those who know the job better, and this is what is killing football.

Football is about who can do the job, and the government also does this while signing players. Instead of going for players that have more talent, they prefer to bring in recommended players who are not very good.

It was very obvious that Argentina couldn’t get any shots on target in the whole game and that feels a bit frustrating, Well to Me, I feel the result of the rough stuff was as a result of their pattern not working out as planned, all the too many fouls and too much chasing were not enough to completely stop Spain from winning that game yesterday…

I never believed spain would play so well, from my analysis I was actually thinking that the match is going to be a 50/50 but spain literally have the ball all by themselves. It was as if they were playing with underdog, but I just realized that argentina is better than that. They even tried to maintain the draw until the end of the game because the pressure was much.
Then I will say you don't know those teams really well. Anyone who think Spain vs Argentina game would be a 50/50 game knows nothing, Spain is a team that knows how to keep the ball and also attack at the same time, they had a slow start but with how they played France I knew they had the possibility of winning and they are the favourite in that game if the match is not biased. Spain is a very stubborn team that can't be underrated.

if you watch closely 3-2 guys were on Messi all the time, there was no space in between the lines…
Messi with the ball is very dangerous and so the best thing is to prevent from receiving much of the ball.

You are right but the ex-players would only be effective in replacing the NFF but will not be good to use them for coaching because I use to feel is good to use players but however considering the technical ideas that's required and also how some persons spends years as an assistant coach to someone and still struggle to lead a team into good position that's when I realized that is not only about having an understanding with the club as a player but is about the techniques to win any force. So actually if all the NFF team would become our former super eagle players it will change the story of our sports for good and the national team will become competitive.

I think that FIFA and the FG do not monitor how the NFF manage money because if they have been monitoring them I don't think that they would  loot those money without facing any consequences.  Looting like this can't go on in the country that the government do not know, probably they are silent because they have a share in the loots..Any cases regarding financial crime is the job of the EFCC to track down and arrest any official of the NFF that are involved looting the country resources but yet no arrest has been made. It seems like the EFCC and the government are somehow in a collabo with the NFF maybe that is why they have been silent.

You have a very good point and these players would not really want to play for a country that doesn’t rate them, that doesn’t give them the welfare needed for them to feel enthusiastic playing for their home country. The problem with NFF is accountability which they don’t scrutinize them to give account on. Many players will want to play for their home country, but as long as they don’t give them the opportunity to feel at home, they will always feel left out and not want to be part of the team. I hope things change for the better because we are losing a lot of good talents that ought to be playing for the country.

Allegedly, because we are not sure about it unless you have evidence to show.

It is common in most countries, where the leaders take the money meant for the people to satisfy their cravings. This is the reason why talented people, after being successful, don't want to associate their heritage with Nigeria. Most footballers are answering to a Nigerian name but are playing for another country. I mean, very brilliant and talented football stars, we all know. Michael Olise, Eze, Saka, and Madueke are all Nigerians who would choose their heritage if Nigeria were a better country.

No body will blame any player who chooses a different nationality over any African country to represent in any game. The level of corruption in the continent is second to none and it's not like they're done with it. When I recount the players Nigeria has in diaspora, I shake my head, stars at different playing positions. Talents like Michael Olise, Madueke, Ebere Eze, Balogun and many more, to name but a few. These guys are world class players that can give the Super eagles a big advantage in the world stage, but they've all chosen a better country to represent.

The only players that come down to the African teams are those ones who have analysed their chances of getting enough playing time or who doubt their chances of making it to their senior teams. These are the ones that fall back to their African country to get a place. Someone like Luka Zidane still amazes me on why he switched allegiance to Algeria after playing under 16 and under 20 in the France team of which I do think that Zidane could have helped him get a place in the senior team. One way or the other, it could also be on the ground of trying to secure a place in the senior team.

Africa is not doing good generally because they still make their team selections a political talk, each leader handing over a name to the NFF on who to pick into the senior team or even the junior teams without considering such person's impact on the team and when the coach fails, he gets a sack.

Players with dual nationalities should be allowed the freedom to choose their preferred national team. Tbf I don’t blame any of these players for playing elsewhere because the Nigerian fanbase can be very toxic. Imagine Madueke playing for Super Eagles, and performs poorly as he fondly does in most games, the fans and media will eat him up.

In my opinion, instead of scouting abroad for players, we should focus on our domestic league players and home grown talent. I’m pretty sure that there is someone are people as skilful as Jay Jay Okocha who are playing football somewhere in university or the streets.
