Why are you underrating Ronaldo's contribution to the national team? He helped Portugal win their only Euro Cup. You even called UEFA Nations League, yet many top teams have never won it. I would have to agree that Ronaldo's impact on the team has reduced drastically. Nevetherless you love or respect for Messi shouldn't make you undervalue the contributions of the Portuguese player. But I understand it is same thing we are talking about here and it is just unnecessary to me some times even unfair. This does not limit to Messi fans alone but also Ronaldo fans who think body shaming Messi fans is the right thing to do should also stop it. Let everyone support who they want to support or be quiet as to who you don’='t know. It is better rather than disrespecting to the player in question and the fans who are out there supporting .

I think that every person has every right to prefer whoever they want, even if it isn't Messi or Ronaldo. Every person has their own idol and rightly so. It's not fair to choose for others. If someone claims that Messi is the best in the world it is right for them to believe it, just as if someone believes that Ronaldo is the best in the world it is right for them to believe it. I completely agree with what you said about Ronaldo. he is a legend. He is outstanding, given the dedication he has shown to the world of football. It is only natural that he serves as a role model. I agree with you in some point . But I want to say  that Messi's individual performance was good. He even performed well in the World Cup. But if we talk about the Ballon d'Or, then in case of Messi, the team performance was also good, but considering the trophies, he could not win the World Cup. If Argentina had won the World Cup, then Messi would have definitely won the Ballon d'Or. I never understood people who support a player instead of a club or a country. I mean, I understand that because the way football changed, especially with social media, the most famous players became their own brand, but I'll never understand those "fans" who cheer for the player instead of the team. But also, to be fair, this usually mainly happens with people from countries with basically no football culture, so in many case we have these Messi vs Ronaldo discussions between people who are somewhere in Asia or in Africa, so they literally have nothing to do with these players.
