Harry Kane is still likely to win this season's Ballon d'Or but I see Mbappe moving up in the Ballon d'Or rankings. Note that it was correct to consider Harry Kane as a possible contender to win the award but Lamine Yamal was not eligible to win the award.The youngster has surprised everyone by breaking into the top 10 rankings for the 2026 Ballon d'Or but he may not have done much for his country and club. Even Mbappe has performed consistently this season and he scored twice in yesterday's El Clasico so it is clear that individual performance plays a big part in winning this award at the end of the day.

Another thing to note is that Fabian Ruiz's name may seem different but we need to remember that he is the only player who has managed to win the UEFA Champions League and the FIFA World Cup trophy together this year.

That doesn't mean he just gets to cut the line and end up the winner, the win is going to Kane but if things don't work out the way they should then Mbappe will take it home, if they want to be biased then they can vote for the young Yamal but not because he deserves it but because he is just their favourite at the moment but beyond this three and maybe some others any other names that pop up tonight will be a serious disservice to the fans and to football in general, we've had enough disservice in the past, best for them not to repeat it.

For me, I would go for Harry Kane. That guy is so good. Of course, it's not just what I think alone would give him the award, but what other persons think too, plus his performance. But sincerely, he has performed so well for both club and country.

For club side, he won the Germans Bundesliga and some other domestic troohi, and for country, he won the third place for the world cup. My main reason why I feel he should be ahead of Rodri is that he is an exceptional player. His contributions to the club and country cannot be measured.

Anyways, these are just my thoughts and if I had the chance, I would award him. I think he deserves it this time.

Rodri had a weak league campaign, he was injured for most of it, you can’t say he’s the best player in the world for that year when he didn’t play much of that year, sure he was arguably the best player in the World Cup but it’s just not enough imo,
For me it’s between mbappe and Kane, both of them have the strongest cases, some might say yamal but he ghosted throughout the World Cup which was the biggest competition last season so for me that completely rules him out, Kane had an underwhelming World Cup too, mbappe had a good World Cup campaign but he was trophyless last season honestly there is no clear cut winner, I think either mbappe or Kane! Whichever one will surely deserve it.

Same Rodri that wasn't available in most of the matches last season because of injury. He came towards the end and helped Manchester City who were already in the final, to win both the Fa Cup and Carabao Cup. Now in the World Cup everyone knows that Lione Messi performed far better than him , but he was still awarded the golden ball. So the best place for Rodri is number 5 or 6 in the Ballon d'Or ranking.  For the sake of football, the should give Harty kane the award. Reason is because if he win it , the football won't have mich to say and will forget about it within a month. But either Lamine Yamal or Mbappe wins it, then football World will be thrown into chaos  .  We already know our 3 main candidates (Harry, Yamal and Mbappe). I wish them luck.

Rodri didn't make it to the top 3 favorites, so I don't see why he should still remain in this Ballon d'Or conversation anymore..Surely he had a very good world cup, no goals scored and no assists done, but defensively he helped his team emerge as the world champions..Since then he really has not really been given us a very good performance like we are seeing amongst the 3 favorites... I can't say for sure at times point who will emerge victor..But what ever decision that is made tonight will be accepted by me knowing fully well they it wasn't a decision based on favouritism for one player and then hatred for another..The event is still underway so let see how it all gradually begin to unfold..

From this ranking, I can tell you that Lamine Yamal stands no chance of winning the Ballon d'Or because he is ranked third which means that Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappe were given consideration before him so the winner should be between the first and second in the ranking. Kane is good and he is a great player, last season was very incredible performance but if we are honest, all signs says he is the one that will win this award tonight but I have left my emotions and will wait to see the genuine winner. This award is unpredictable, last two years the whole world expected Vinicious to win this award based on his performance but what they did don't just shock the club, it shocked everyone including Rodri that won for that year.

If Mbape is announced as the winner. I will not be surprised. Yamal is just an entertaining guy, I see how everyone is cheering for him on the internet but award are not win on the internet, it's not even decided on the internet, it's not an opinion of people, it will come from journalists. I really doubt this is a leaked ranking. There’s no way Kvara lands higher than Haaland, Dembele or Olise, especially considering he wasn't even at the World Cup. For me Kvara probably finishes 10th while Haaland and Olise belong in the top 5.
Like Romano said, it's just the final 10 contenders in no particular order. It’s classic behavior for everyone to jump on the "leak" conspiracy train every year but it's just random noise before the actual show starts. Let's see how the official reveals pan out.

It is already known who deserves this ballon d'or award but I don't think this season award should be given to Rodri because this player didn't score any goal or any assist in 2026 FIFA World Cup but it is right that he was adjudged man of the match against Portugal. But it is partly true that French player Mbappe deserves this award more than Yamal because he was the top goalscorer in the World Cup even though he did not win the World Cup. The list of players from 1-3 are very much deserving of the award, they all did well for their respective clubs and countries and even on a personal level they got what it takes to win it mostly especially for someone like Kylian Mbappe who I think if not for his lack of trophy last season, there wouldn’t be much of a debate about who will win the award.
