Honestly, it is something to be proud of. From the trophyless striker at Tottenham, to a trophied ballon d'or winner, it's truly a great leap if I must say. I'm so happy for him.

Even after performing well, he felt uneasy when he could not find himself at Tottenham, and perhaps that is why he left Tottenham to join Bayern Munich in 2023 to change his environment. Otherwise I like how this list was generated, it's a true reflection of how much work goes in these players and all voting parties recognizing their work, credit to you guys.

Very surprising. I just keep wondering why they keep finding way for Messi at  the top. I will say his only impressive performance was at the world cup and that shouldn't be reason he is at top 5. He played well at the world cup but there is also Olise who performed well at the world cup as well and gave a very good performance at club football last season too, so at least I think he should be sitting above Messi.

I also like how the list was generated, I don't see any player being favoured this time aside Messi. Players were really given credit for their performances and if the award can always be issued out like this I think people won't have any reason to query their decisions.

Mbappe's position is perfect, he had a great season but missed on winning trophies and it affected his chances of winning it. I really want to see him win it badly, I hope this season Real Madrid will not dissapoint him again.

It's a fair table. Kane totally deserved to win the trophy, I don't think Mbappé or Yamal actually had a chance since the French didn't win the World Cup and Yamal's performance was just ok. I think Kvaratskhelia would have deserved at least the 4th place because he had an incredible season and he had won everything - once again - with PSG. I understand people (and UEFA/FIFA) love Messi, I understand he played a great World Cup, but his 5th place is too generous in my opinion. I would have placed both Haaland and Olise before him.

Mbappe was in great form throughout the season, but I still think he was a worthy contender for the Ballon d'Or and he finally won it. The rest of the players on the Ballon d'Or list did well, but they need to work harder and perform better, then they can see themselves in the Ballon d'Or winner's list.

After Spain won the World Cup, many thought that Lamine Yamal might win the Ballon d'Or, but his personal performance was not as expected, that is, we should see the kind of performance that Lamine Yamal should have in the entire season to win the Ballon d'Or. However, I think that in the coming seasons, Mbappe, Haaland, Lamine Yamal will have a tough competition among them to be at the top of this prestigious competition.

I don’t think it’s worth paying any serious attention to this, Messi is just a brand here - like promotional posters on a stage, or a piece of furniture.

There are far more interesting inconsistencies - for instance, the case of Kane and Olise. Olise was named the Bundesliga Player of the Season, ranking ahead of Kane, even though they played for the same team. Furthermore, Olise set an all-time record for assists in the World Cup (he also led in assists in both the Bundesliga and the Champions League). Okay, so Kane may be the best, but it's close, right? It cannot be denied. But no - Kane is first, and Olise is only 9th lol!

You're right,  Harry Kane was fans favorite to win the Ballon D'or this year,  I was rooting for Olise and I think the number 9 position is not nice for a player like olise that's disappointing to me, I expected him to be at top 5, this is done through voting and they was no special media campaign for him.as they did for Harry Kane, the whole England media stood for him for promotion and they finally got it for him, though he deserves this award this year, he won the league with Bayern Munich and was the best player in the league, and top scorer. Even at thr world cup he Still scored 7 goals.

Mbappe lost the Ballon d'Or because he went last season without a single trophy with Real Madrid and France, that denied him the opportunity to win the award,  Mbappe was top scorer in the world cup, champions league and Laliga last season,  but he didn't lift any trophy, he's still young and good to win it next year. Kane really deserves to get that award.. Scoring 73 goals in one season, that's a really impressive achievement.. He's also become Munich's main striker and managed to lead his team to a domestic competition hat-trick.. He's also won the Golden Boot and had such an impressive performance in last season's Champions League.. One thing he lacks is that he couldn't lead England to win the World Cup, but that's not something that can stop him from winning the Ballon d'Or. The best way to become successful in life is by keep going regardless of the storms and the circumstances you face along the way. This was the most evident moment I saw in Harry Kane’s career as a footballer and what I most admire about Harry Kane’s story is he did not allow the years without major individual recognitions and successes to make him give up his way up to greatness rather he kept improving his skills and performance in his environment and when he saw the opportunity to leave, he also did not hesitate to move forward and that’s why his victory is a reminder that patience, consistency, determination and courage to leave your current environment as a player especially when it is not making you to maximize your potential to another environment you feel is more supportive and valuable to you can completely change your career. Congratulations Sir Harry Kane, on becoming the fifth English footballer to win the Ballon d'Or. He joins Sir Stanley Matthews and Michael Owen. It was a truly amazing moment when he received the Ballon d'Or from Ronaldo Nazario. The award ended all the controversy surrounding the Ballon d'Or and in my opinion he deserves it. Sometimes all we need to do to achieve our dream is to leave our comfort zone to seek new challenges somewhere else. Harry Kane was a demigod at Tottenham Hotspur. Me too mate, cause he deserved it, some folks on X were saying it should've been given to Yamal cause he won the World Cup, LaLiga and had a fair individual performance, well that's their take but Harry Kane was exceptionally good whether he won the World Cup or not. It's a french award not a FiFA award. Well, you have a point, and I believe the main criteria often has to do with a player's individual performance for a particular season, while the trophies won is supposed to be the icing on the cake. But, sometimes, we often don't see them making use of these criteria to the fullest... It's either they use the performance of a single competition to give the award, or they use a particular trophy won.

But for this very award, it was awarded based on the actual criteria. Kane had a better performance, doing what an actual striker was supposed to do. He also won a few trophies with Bayern, did well in the WC and got to the semi final. The other players that made it to the top 3 also had a fantastic season, but I guess individual brilliance made the difference In this one. As for the Goalkeeping award... Turns out the criteria was totally based on WC performance alone, and had nothing to do with League and European performance.

Very much of an impressive performance in the season he scored the most goals ever scored in a single season by a Bayern Munich player, he broke and sets the record with triple trophies at a go. I think Harry Kane is now the sixth English man to win the Ballon D'or decades after the last English man Micheal Owen won it in 2001.
This World Cup that just passed the Three Lions of England had a strong depth squad and were tipped to be among favourite to win the Cup but there was Spain which turned to become a much better team than any other team in the tournament. Kane deserves it, for having managed to save the world of football from noise. Imagine if the Ballon d'or winner was Yamal or Mbappe we would know what would happen next.
The criteria are very fair Kane individual achievements and trophies support last season, Mbappe as the top scorer in La Liga, UCL and the World Cup but last season without a trophy, while Yamal won the World Cup trophy, La Liga but the performance is still not fully consistent and his involvement in the World Cup is not too dominant.

This trophy means a lot to England even more than Kane. It's the first time an England player was very close to getting the award in 25 years after Michael Owen in 2001 and they had to throw in every support for their own. He really deserved it. Tears literally flew down my cheeks when he was announced. Kane has waited so long for positive recognition in his career, the Bayern move continues to prove to be more than a blessing to him.
