just did a hard push at the the block 500th for about an hour no go.

I will back down to 30 the rest of the night.  may do a hard push at it on sat.

I mine alt coins with https://simplemining.net...
I see BTC as the super highway and alt coins as taxis and trucks needed to move transactions.

yeah every little bit helps.

I need to hold back a bit for now thread water so to speak.  I am sending 25th at the moment. I am going to save some rental monies and attack it on sat with 200th for 6 hours or so.

There was 5 minutes of downtime today to apply a fix for this bitcoin security issue.

i use west hash or nice hash prices are running from .0118 to .0135 for a 1th

these are decent. 0.0118 is better then you do at home since at home you pay for power.

Does this even pay out? Why wouldn't the people renting out their mining power mine themselves instead if it was at all profitable?

It CAN pay out, depending where you mine and on your luck. I've done quick calculations, no matter what you rent at any given price if you used a PPS pool, you will lose money.

I'm sorry, didn't mean to offend you. I got my stuff out of there and thought others might as well.

No offense taken. I was cloudmining there when it was new, and frankly: I made some good money there (and, frankly, didn't spend it wisely). Since then, they went down the drain....

I'm going to try rent some hashing power. I found a couple other sites, currently trying out mining rig rentals. Seems pretty good and straight forward.
