Hi guys,

good to see BBR alive again Smiley

If anyone wants to sell BBR send me pm! I would rather not use stocks.exchange.

I've got to tell you, it is one of the fastest exchanges I've used! BBR transfers out take less than a minute, and BTC in is only 2 confirmation.  They've got my support, but new is new, and I can appreciate your concern.

That being said, I am impressed with their execution, especially for how new they are, and I've had nothing but a positive experience.

Did you say you are buying or selling?  Cause I'm looking to buy, PM me.

Thank you

Hi guys,

good to see BBR alive again Smiley

Welcome back criptix,

S1lverfox has a new exchange cryptochangex.com and also runs a successful bitcoin escrow service. You can check his rep (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=152126). I spoke with his developer earlier and he's promised trading by Friday. In meantime, I'm sure S1lverfox would be open to doing an escrow for anyone who has trust issues with stocks.exchange. Also, I'll try and get a progress report from kucoin.com. I spoke with them last night and they said they're still working on it. Apparently while the executives were on vacation the developers were busy releasing Android and iPhone applications so hopefully we get some progress from them.

Thanks for the heads up and good job reviving BBR Smiley

can you elaborate on the payment ID part? It says its getting rid of the payment ID requirement, does that mean there are no payment ids in the new system?

I would like the ability to send encrypted messages on the blockchain in a single transaction, this had been a lacking feature in Monero

Apparently while the executives were on vacation the developers were busy releasing Android and iPhone applications so hopefully we get some progress from them.

Thank you for kind words.
I can confirm that we will be able to launch new trading pairs for boolberry brand without any delay.
Also please bear in mind our exchange was made with speed and safety in mind so all deposits are set to be credited once exchange is sure there is no risk of double spend.
Btc for example after 1conf. In some cases if fee paid properly after 10 minutes.
Gbytes takes no more than 4 minutes to be credited while bittrex usually takes 10-15 minutes.
Ltc is usually confirmed within first few minutes and eth also.

Also if anyone need escrow please contact me I will be happy to do this at 0% rate untill markets are opened.

Also I will push to create more.than 2 markets for this coin.

I strongly suggest to check our speeds and how our exchange handling deposits and withdrawals. There is videos on youtube with speed of gbyte deposits and you can be assured rest is done in similar manner.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but your comments mark an era that is behind us, and we need to regain peoples trust organically, and being on the biggest gainers list for the day attracts transitory investors at best.

I think there is clearly a consensus that we all believe in the leadership (b4h4mu7), and the team that he has put together and we are in this for the long haul.

Price movement / manipulation is irrelevant in achieving our mutual goal of communicating value to the market and being a contender for the top spot in the privacy coin space.  The new signatures are one of the highlights of the project and basically make Monero look obsolete in comparison.

The advancements that have been made will attract investors, users, and a sense of community; price will follow accordingly.

If you are looking to exit, which is the only reason why you would desire such attention, PM me your price.  Perhaps we can make this easy for both of us.

Respectfully.

Not looking for an exit or liquidity, just the free advertisement that the listing sites will show, this is a lot less expensive than ads.

Yes you are right it would attract transitory people and there may be an opportunity to attract higher quality people

I would say that right now our biggest problem is still the exchanges and waiting for a bigger one

Wow, so many changes coming up. Will it still be the same coin? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ship_of_Theseus

(also, will there be confusion with an old copycoin? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=206361.0)

looks like there can be confusion as they are also planning a reboot.

the first thing I did was check to see if it was coinmarketcap still and it isn't, but it may be in the future.

Hi teknohog,

The Ship of Theseus query is warranted, my rebuttal would be that as long as we stay true to the core improvements originally pioneered by Boolberry then everything else is an upgrade. Other crypto projects have done the same although I can't think of many that have improved as much as we have. Moreover, as long as your coins are transferable through the hardfork, it would also further reinforce this theory. I guess a relevant analogy would be like restoring a classic car. Even though one would upgrade and modernize certain areas it would still be the same vehicle. Although in this case its more like an aftermarket performance upgrade i.e. adding Supercharger/Blower etc.

To avoid confusion we reached out to the original dev of the abandon project DBL and acquired the subreddit r/doubloon from him along with permission rights to the name. I know it sounds ridiculous but in the unregulated crypto space this is how things work. The Github header "These are not the Doubloons you're looking for" points to our subreddit.
We've also been in communication with the group doing the DBL reboot and they've indicated that their reboot will be under a different name.
https://github.com/RazorLove/doubloons
https://www.reddit.com/r/doubloon/

Also, the project formerly known as Doubloon[BOAT] who didn't bother to reach out to the original dev in the first place before choosing the name, has been renamed to Boat[BOAT] which is reflected on coinmarketcap. Moving forward there won't be any confusion.

All that said, other CN projects have rebranded i.e. ducknote -> darknote -> digitalnote with upgrades to their codebase although none have made major improvements to the underlying protocol like we have. It's worth noting is that this project itself was rebranded from HoneyPenny to Boolberry.

Lastly, just to clarify - we explored the concept of launching this as a separate project, one with no hardfork. The most obvious problem is that over the last 7 months, the research and development team have been compensated in BBR so it makes sense for us to approach this as a fork to the new codebase rather than a fresh project. Our intentions here have always been to reestablish this project as the benchmark privacy project by advancing the technology beyond any competitors. This direction was the quickest way to achieve that goal.

People with big asks on the order book, consider waiting for a different time to actually liquidate, your patience will be rewarded.

Agreed. No need for market manipulation here. Those with orders up that want to exit will make room for new holders, it's simply how things work.

b4h4mu7 it's impressive.if it comes to fruition it will be one of the top10/top20 currencies.

Thanks! As far as development we're just about done with the majority of it. However, some areas of research are improving (sometimes weekly) and as a result our developers need to review design improvements then translate them into code.

On that note - I'm thrilled to announce that today, the first area of our research efforts to reach maturity has been published to the International Association for Cryptologic Research (IACR).

"Itsuku: a Memory-Hardened Proof-of-Work Scheme"
https://eprint.iacr.org/2017/1168

Thanks everyone for the kind words regarding the announcement! It's been a lot of work and effort this year to get to the point where we could share it with the community. Any and all questions are welcomed. I'll go through and answer all them in a larger condensed post when I get some free time. Also, feel free to throw some FUD at me or the project. I haven't entertained that in a while Smiley

I'm with you here. Regardless of individual motive assuming a position back in the top 100 is an obvious advantage.

I have been holding since near the start so I will not be letting go until we are back up with xmr.

However many new investors with all varying degrees of loyalty to the projects they put money into will only look inside the top 100 and often the top 20

We want to be back inside that investment arena asap.

I say that even though mine are mostly held in polo against my will so if they do not release them before the fork date I will be pretty unhappy.

Also I must say that what b4h4mu7 has done has been quite awesome ... well done for someone taking the incentive here. I wish there were some people like that in some other communities im with where i hold a significant amount of coins.

I did like the name boolberry - i thought i sounded quite classy but this new name is not too bad either.

I like that it'll be a fork

securing the majority hashrate of this chain is easy, for now, so this is good

Itsuku: a Memory-Hardened Proof-of-Work Scheme

Fabien Coelho and Arnaud Larroche and Baptiste Colin

Abstract: Proof-of-Work (PoW) schemes allow to limit access to resources or to share rewards for crypto-currency mining. The MTP-Argon2 PoW by Biryukov and Khovratovich is loosely based on the Argon2 memory-hard password hashing function. Several attacks have been published. We introduce a new transposed parallel implementation attack which achieves higher performance by circumventing apparent bandwidth requirements. We then present Itsuku, a new scheme that fixes known issues by changing MTP-Argon2 parameters and adds new operations to improve memory hardness. Our scheme is built on a simple security criterion: any implementation which requires half the memory or less should induce at least a times-64 computation cost for difficulty d <= 100. The Itsuku proof size is typically 1/16 th of the initial scheme, while providing better memory hardness. We also describe high-end hardware designs for MTP-Argon2 and Itsuku.

Biryukov and Khovratovich designed the Equihash algorithm in use by Zcash. AFAIK their latest design MTP-Argon2, or Mekle Tree Proof, was designed as a successor to Equihash with the primary function of providing an Egalitarian mining solution. Fabien reviewed this algorithm and redesigned it to be hardened against all known attack vectors along with optimized proof sizes, which is known as Itsuku. Initial spec is 2GB but in any case, even with 64GB of RAM there wont be much speedup, since the limiting factor is bandwidth and not space.

Arnaud Larroche and Baptiste Colin are two of Fabien's students at MINES ParisTech. They're the ones who wrote the Python implementation.
