When I mentioned earlier about the possibility for me to setup a dynamic dns address I was told that a DynDns address as a permanent node was not the image the foundation wanted to give to the public. Thus my comment.
As for the rest of your explanation it make indeed more sense.

for foundation approved nodes i stay with my statement dynDNS address dont fit
danbi gave a technical explaination of some examples where a dynamic IP even with dynDNS is weaker than a true static IP
foundation approved nodes should be represent backbone of diamond network  and not carry any signs of weakness....

and as danbi said already
anyone is allowed use any node in his conf
its a free software u use
noone buy it and everyone free to use it as he like

but for support requests we suggest people following our suggested conf settings
and for that we have foundation approved nodes that are part of our suggested conf settings

what exactly means
Quote
18.8 in total down
18.8 dmd missing?

whatever u mined at pools while they where on wrong chain is lost in alterative reality
every mining minting  transaction u recived or sendet on wrong blockchain is not existing in real blockchain

when i said u never lose coins i mean coins u earned/owned on the correct chain wont disappear somehow on the correct chain

i have no time check block explorer for u now but it should be self explained what u can read there

a block can contain data of multiple transactions
reason for transactions towards u from the pool later when u didnt mine there can be they discovered some wrong transactions on a fork and tryed to fix that later on by sending coin again.....

but such questions u have to ask the pool operator if transactions from them towards u look strange to u

You ready for my responce.

I understand exactly what you are saying and thats fine.I understand...
I am gonna answer Danbi in this reply as well.
and I make a real ass of myself.But I doubt it.
BUT...
before the fork issue. I had no unconfirmed transactions.
I have never sent out a diamond from the wallet EVER.
I had 1155 diamonds.
then
http://bit.diamonds/community/index.php/topic,38.0.html
quoteing myself.0731 4:45 pm
Anyone else find the network strange since yesterday? Its barely 2gh, the diff is way down.
Auto payouts up at some pools , down in others and  nothing is coming to the wallet.
Minting transactions seem to be the only thing working.
Did the diamond network get attacked? it was Just a post i read .
Strange...
I restarted the wallet, it says its synced. Then its not synced.
In and out of sync? 13 blocks and stalls. Then syncs, then out of sync couple minutes later and 23 blocks
Syncs. Strange.
Stuck on 511406.....
It won't sync now.But its bein open for hours. Still mining etc.
All Past transactions are not gaining  confirmations.
7 active connections...
If its just me on my end, Ill try a full resync.
I just don't think it is.
Anyone else experiencing issues?
end quote from thread.0731.

At this point I had all my diamonds . 0 unconfirmed.
I thought we were having wallet issues, like last month.
I did a full resync. Because the wallet was going in and out of sync in realtime!!
I watched it.

I had to start over.
I fully resynced and lost 650 diamonds.
This has to be when it was forking.
I used a back up wallet.dat and resynced again.
Then
I got back the 650 except for 20 diamonds.
Fully synced. I had 22 unconfirmed transactions.

Still synced I waited.
2 confirmations came in.
Now I am at 18.06257 diamonds unconfirmed.
and 20+ transactions unconfirmed.
I tried checkwallet passed true
repair wallet passed true.
I am still missing 18.06257 diamonds.

Then we were instructed
connect=193.68.21.19
listen=0
noirc=1
I edited config as instructed.
Fully synced.
18.06257 diamonds unconfirmed as before.
Then we were instructed
addnode=193.68.21.19
listen=1
noirc=1
I edited config accordingly as posted.
Fully synced. Still missing 18.06257 diamonds.
I am mining and minting and gaining diamonds regardless.
YOU said it was good!!!
After a few hours on listen=1
15 connections.
And then you instructed to add the two nodes. One US and one singapore.
Fully synced.Still missing the 18.06257 diamonds.
close the wallet. Restart the wallet.
Error ---> File src\kernel.cpp, line 412
STart over again!
connect=193.68.21.19
listen=0
fully synced all diamonds but the 18.06257 diamonds and 20+ unconfirmed transactions.
Then I posted.And I was told to check the block explorer.
And I DID.
I POSTED MY FINDINGS. YOUR THE EXPERTS.
Everything looks FINE?HuhHuhHuhHuh
Are you kidding???
I almost spoon fed you!!!!!!!!!!
Danbi. attention...
At this point I am fully synced and mining Danbi pool only.
18.063257 diamonds down the shitter.
How do I know???
as posted.
http://diamond.danbo.bg:2750/address/dK2bEazyFqqBFkyXeTYLpmM5Rw6BFAtAJL
3 entries for Block 511524  2014-07-31 11:33:36
3 entries with  Diffrent transaction IDs, same block number and same time STAMP.. Looks good to me.

Until i check the other address. TWO addresses, same block number, different ids. that is normal???
I don't think so!!
I never mined the pool on 0802 for these next 37 entries
The last 37 entries are for Block 514161  2014-08-02 11:57:03
37 entries with the same time stamp and same transaction ID and same block number?HuhHuh??
DING DING
And in that 1 transaction or was it 37 transactions all wrapped in one?HuhHuh?
I was sent 10.7.... diamonds(which is strange!) but by the time it finished I was only .5 diamonds +.
UH? What?are you kidding?

Everybody knows the balance colunm and what the brackets represent.
(amount)negative balance.
These are the last total transactions.I never mined there much.
Your saying the pool paid me 10.7 diamonds and took them away in the same transaction?HuhHuhHuh?
and thats normal?HuhHuh?
Is it part of the missing confirmations?? the 18.06257 unconfirmed diamonds???
I started with 15.925909 and ended up with 16.440087...Uh??
Header for http://diamond.danbo.bg:2750/address/dK2bEazyFqqBFkyXeTYLpmM5Rw6BFAtAJL

Balance: 16.440087 DMD
Transactions in: 78
Received: 26.915224 DMD
Transactions out: 37
Sent: 10.475137 DM

What?HuhHuh?? sent??? What are you saying???Same trans ID, Block number??? cmon..

I also received a unconfirmed minting transaction.0802. Is the network Good??
I'll post.

Status: 0/unconfirmed
Date: 8/2/2014 17:45
Debit: 0.00 DMD
Net amount: -11.461665 DMD
Transaction ID: 6f94d2ed437c64825ea5b2116d9893ef03e7193ac8ea85330c809ea0dcf040b3

Generated coins must mature 200 blocks before they can be spent. When you generated this block, it was broadcast to the network to be added to the block chain. If it fails to get into the chain, its state will change to "not accepted" and it won't be spendable. This may occasionally happen if another node generates a block within a few seconds of yours.

Debit -11.461665?Huh??
excuse me?? What??
Staking during the fork???I don't know.. You said it was Good!!
and I lose what was staked then?Huh??
How many coins am I missing or lost??
18.06257 or HuhHuhHuh because of this getting forked.
I have another word for that.
Do the transactions I see in the wallet reflect the missing unconfirmed coins??

If that said unaccepted, I would be fine with that. It doesn't!!
Status: 0/unconfirmed
To me that means its real and not "not accepted"but unconfirmed..Not in alternative reality.(Where can i get that wallet???lol)
where is it? It was there...
That is just one address!!!! Two blocks. What about the rest??? That I posted.
I picked the least retarded looking  block explorer screen to explain this ..
The minept address is even worse!!! More block numbers, same transaction ID! Great!!!@!!
Just to be clear.
O unconfirmed transactions from Danbi pool. Solo mining.
Minept.Cryptohunger. and(Minting during the fork problem)all unconfirmed!!!

18 diamonds I can live without. If they are gone. They are Gone!
I am not trying to be anal. BUT you have problems with the wallet network!!
connect? addnode? Fuckin band aid?? It comes from the pool to the network right? Then to the wallet? OK.
Fix it!
I bought 620 diamonds from Cryptsy one week before the fork that almost aged. I kept the wallet Locked.Listen=0 etc
They were due to stake when the fork happened. Get it.I almost lost them.
if they would have started staking.!@#$% I would have lost them forever.
Maybe aheads up to people to lock there wallets if they suspect a forking problem during minting.!!!
I am not feelin that selfhealing thing.

mister1k

its just that easy a old unconfirmed transactions never happend on real blockchain
it can be mining/minting a orphan or on wrong chain or transactions u made/recieve while synced to wrong chain

we explained the mechanics multiple times already

yes we have to say sorry for unstable network last few days but we in process of fixing it and new wallet will be released soon

but that somehow we made ur DMD disappear and we are responsible is just wrong

check every crypto wallet help>about section and read whats written there

"this is experimental software......."

we as foundation not responsible for any coins

foundation task is to improve wallet code and network stability

thats what we do as good as we can

and i have to say we do a damm good job in this hard times

if u disagree there is a easy way to vote

hold/buy coins is u trust in us sell them is u dont trust in us

mister1k, TL;DR. Really!

But, if you have, as you say "Error ---> File src\kernel.cpp, line 412 ", then you are definitely on the wrong client version. The current Diamond wallet has this check on line 410. As can be verified in the official sources here https://github.com/DMDCoin/Diamond/blob/master/src/kernel.cpp#L410. It was on line 412 in older versions.

Until you upgrade your wallet, nothing else makes sense. In fact, if you are using any version prior to 2.0.3, your wallet will be disconnected by the backbone nodes.

In your list of tranactions, you see many amounts in the same block. Block 514161.

If you look up that in the block explorer (by clicking on the block number hyperlink, easy) you will find out that (the header part):

Proof of Stake: 0.514178 coins generated
Hash: 4116d44e40516b2747b2631859185f8f881826b16510943fcc7e3bc2ec7732b5

Next Block: 00000000006ed2ac1c8b51a600a5f29e235fec6246e86c8ae21f11b00cfab8a0

Average Coin Age: 112.699 days
Coin-days Destroyed: 379.499373
Cumulative Coin-days Destroyed: 37.1888%

This is an PoS block, that *you* generated. Because you had lots of small older coins, the improved Diamond PoS protocol "spent" all those small amounts for you (without incurring any transaction fees for you, mind you!), then added your PoS reward of 0.514178 DMD and sent you the resulting amount of 10.767641. This is what PoS does. It has worked to your benefit.

If, for some reason you dislike PoS touching your amounts, you can always disable it with "reservebalance=999999) in your config file.

Finally, be aware that your wallet can have multiple addresses. The block explorer however does not know that (it's your privacy, after all) and can only display the amount of Diamonds sitting at specific address.

My advice is to submit a ticket with Cryptsy.  If no one sends a ticket to them they don't realize there is a problem.

this!
they know but they prioritize their tasks by demand
no demand for dmd fixed at cryptsy = every other task they have is more important.....

Look through the last 5 pages or so. I used cryptonits block chain download and his settings. Had to use the 'repairwallet' command to recheck my addresses.

I lost some from minting on the wrong chain.

Good luck.

X13 re-enabled on wafflepool  Cool

With the addition of a few new coins (notably Zipcoin), X13 is back online.  Obviously have either a failover enabled, or check it every so often, as if the profitability drops too low again (less than 50% LTC continuously) I'll disable the ports again so you guys aren't wasting a ton of time Smiley

Ok, I give up.  I figured Diamond would be a good coin to try solo mining.  Enough hash to keep the network up, but difficulty slightly lower than Bitcoin.  What eludes my google-fu is what console commands in the wallet will give you any feedback on how my mining is going.  Be we crunching blocks or just spinning our wheels?

My diamond.conf file...

rpcuser=Atomicnixon
rpcpassword=JesusBuiltMyHotrod
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcport=17772
addnode=213.229.0.41
addnode=193.77.159.166
addnode=113.168.158.16
server=1
listen=1
daemon=1
gen=1

Sgminer batch...

sgminer.exe -k diamond -Q 50 -o 127.0.0.1:17772 -u Atomicnixon -p JesusBuiltMyHotrod -o stratum+tcp://dmdpool.digsys.bg:3333 -u xxxxxx -p x --xintensity 300 -g 1,2 --thread-concurrency 8192,16384 -w 256 --lookup-gap 0 --difficulty-multiplier 0.0039062500

Getmininginfo...

{
"blocks" : 519112,
"currentblocksize" : 1000,
"currentblocktx" : 0,
"difficulty" : 41.25975732,
"errors" : "",
"generate" : true,
"genproclimit" : -1,
"hashespersec" : 364547,
"networkhashps" : 2710658635,
"pooledtx" : 0,
"stakepower" : 0,
"testnet" : false
}

In sgminer it shows me connecting to pool 0, sets difficulty via longpoll correctly, then shows nothing but a string of "Network difficulty set" and "Stratum from Pool 1 detected new block.  Shows 0 for accepted/rejected blocks.  One other minor thing... GPU-0 is showing WU:0.137/m but GPU-1 shows 0.000.  Can someone fill in some detail for me here?

Edit: Didn't miss running wallet like so:

C:\Mining\diamond-qt.exe --server

Atomicat,

Your config file is setup like you are solo mining on the same machine as your wallet.  But your batch file indicates you are connecting to the digsys pool. What are you trying to do?

DMDcreeper. No his batch file is configured properly. The first pool is set to 127.0.0.1. Digsys pool is the failover pool

Atomicat,

I recommend you start with a very simple batch files. Take out everything non essential (failover, Q flag, td, lookgap) except the multiplier of course. BTW when I used to solo mine I didn't use the --server flag while launching diamond. I believe setting it in the diamond.conf files as (server=1) already does the job.

BTW which sgminer are you using?

I will revert with more info later on as I am at work and if no one else has properly resolved your issue.

Thanks.  I figured the --server flag would be a redundant redundancy issue, no big.  I'm quite confident it's all set up right, it's just the lack of feedback and info that's tweaking my info-hungry brain.  If the wallet is acting as a local server there should be a way of finding out what it's processing, what work it's sending and receiving.  This is such a new scene and there's a million n00b just getting started guides, but very little in-depth write-ups.  Q flag is important, but I'll strip a few things down and see if behavior changes.  That's usually my first step as well.  Oh, don't suppose you'd have a screen-shot of what Sgminer mining solo properly looks like?  Using the Diamond fork and getting a solid 16,000 Kh/s on Danbi's pool.  Thanks in advance for any info.

I would guess you could look in the logs see what the wallet is doing network-wise. You could actually add the "debug=1" option in the .conf file to have more info, but that is just debug info. If you want to know how the wallet is working with the network and with your miner, go into the wallet console and type "help" you will get all possible commands (gethashespersec or getgenerate are 2 among many others). Also try using verbose mode in sgminer. You will see more information on what is happening behind the scene.

I can't solo-mine with sgminer anymore because I've upgraded to nvidia cards now, so I don't have screenshots.

EDIT: and look how partially lucky you are: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=580725.msg6646488#msg6646488 - Partially because I didn't paste all the sgminer output at that time, but it should give you a good start.

Now that I am looking at the batch file the diff multiplier had to be deactivated when solo mining. Try taking it out but Danbi has just confirmed to me that it actually doesn't matter whether it's there or not as with getwork there is no such thing as difficulty.

You know what, why don't you post here your sgminer output. A screenshot would make it easier to troubleshoot. Please make sure there is no error message when you startup sgminer. If there is, please also post it here.

Finally but actually most importantly, and I quote from Danbi:

"solo mining with 16 Mhash/s will produce DMD in long intervals
unlike with pool mining, you only submit work when you found a block
so a long row of 'no shares' is perfectly ok
then suddenly, BLOCK fond
as sgminer can't find out whether it is talking to a wallet to an pushpool server, it can't show different interface"
