Funny how the most serious and organized criminals are usually the Authorities themselves. And we know how they hate competition.
Got that right!

Crosspost from reddit: http://monero.today/post/116657529706/milton-friedman-predicts-bitcoin-monero-in-1999I think that the Internet is going to be one of the major forces for reducing the role of government. The one thing that’s missing, but that will soon be developed, is a reliable eCash, a method whereby on the Internet you can transfer funds from A to B without A knowing B or B knowing A. The way I can take a $20 bill hand it over to you and then there’s no record of where it came from. Thanks for posting

Choice quote in there from David Cameron, unambiguously identifying himself as a fascist. “For too long, we have been a passively tolerant society, saying to our citizens: as long as you obey the law, we will leave you alone.”

IMHO, it's not cryptocoin related, than cryptography related matter. The second doesn't exclude the first one though. Beyond bold political statements though, there's a factor which the human race cannot avoid being drifted away with. Technology. Unfortunately for the regulators, the researchers will always be one step ahead of their arteriosclerotic ideas...

I love the way my wife thinks about these things. Most people would be tempted to despair of this. But i showed her this story and the very first thing she said was "wow the powers that be must be terrified in australia". Instead of seeing this as a depressing development she instantly saw it as a sign that the good guys are winning. And we are. Thanks to communities just like this one. Just another example of a government shooting its self in the foot. I couldn't be more delighted. "Crypto is the separation of Power and State." -iCEBREAKER

Hmm, I suggest we leave out US patriotic mentality and words like "founding fathers" and "constitution". Crypto and P2P are about anarchism, questioning every kind of authority, so I'd leave out every reference to nation states.

This would be neat, but I think the consensus mechanism would cover that, no? I mean, if a dev team changed the emission, we just wouldn't mine that branch.... right?

Yeah ofc it was an example, I dont know many parallels, good suggestion, it could simply be a signed memo.

thats the plan but look at Bitcoin today... its divided and some still use Satoshi holy words as reference for saying the 1mb was temporary, so why not make it something simple and clear so we avoid useless fights in the future? I believe it will come the day they will try to change Bitcoin emission, I'm 99% sure of it.

This is a good one.
Why the capitalization?
Umm, because titles and proper nouns are capitalized? I guess it's poetic license with a touch of critical theorist conceit, a stylistic flourish to distinguish proper capital-p Power (as in Deep State petrodollar hegemons) from generic power (as in what keeps your lights on) and the capital-S State (as in the Whore of Babylon incarnated by capital-E Empires from Roman to American) from the friendly/helpful folks in Helena, Montana. With lower case letters, one might think the slogan merely expresses some kind of exotic displeasure with any sort of government-run electrical utility. Down with the Tennessee Valley Authority! iHasta la victoria siempre!

I kind of considered your idea for 'State' when I first read it, but for 'Power' to be capitalized, I can only assume that to mean divine power. If you could imagine my perspective, it was a bit weird to see Power separate from a presumed divine state/kingdom.

Not really, the divine right of Kings was/is (theoretically) bestowed/delegated by the (capital C) Church. Hegel and Heidegger completed in secular terms the conceptual blend of Church and State. Until Ayn Rand came along and smashed it.

Until Ayn Rand came along and smashed it. I am alluding not to the Church (Circe, goddess of deception, turns men into pigs) but something else. I guess I had two ways of interpreting your statement... Crypto separates power from the state (men's states), but if it is the true Power bestowed to inhabitants of ~the~ Kingdom of God, then crypto I interpret is actually what seals Power together with such a State, if you can kind of decipher what I'm trying to convey. "Mathematics is the language in which God has written the universe."
