Are there outside branches from the main github that I should be following to see what's being progressed on. Master hasn't had any new commits since the db merge and the development branch there is so old. I'm not really sure who's doing what.

Further, are the missives still going on? The last one is like a month old, just curious if these updates have stopped or if we can expect them to continue again in the near future.

The grue lurks in the darkest places of the earth. Its favorite diet is adventurers, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its fear of light. No grue has ever been seen by the light of day, and few have survived its fearsome jaws to tell the tale.

Yes, you can check the forks and contributors pages on github to track them down.

Fluffypony, you're up.

(snarf) - I'm not trying to pass the buck, but the current SOP has me editing them, and then transferring to fluffy, and he uploads to the server. Him and I are trying to find a way to remove him as the middle man in terms of final upload, but still weigh in on editorial decisions, because if I had my druthers ... well lets just say I have a strange sense of humor sometimes. So eventually I'll send him an MP3 and he'll go "ja" and then I'll upload or he'll say "noer" and i'll go through and edit out the section where I babble incoherently for 10 minutes about multidimensional geometric data compression algorithms.

But unfortunately finding a new SOP involves a tele-sitdown, and our schedules have been bolloxed. Look, its not my fault that the sun moves around the earth and everyone thinks their local time should correspond to the local diurnal cycle, as opposed to synchronizing their clocks to US eastern. Master is staging, so we won't ever develop straight in that. If we absolutely have to for whatever reason we'll push commits directly to that repo, but that tends to make things difficult to track. So developers work in their own forks, and then submit PRs. Over the past 14 days we've been testing the following PRs (on all platforms, and against each other) before merging:

- disable non-working optimized slow_hash on 32 bit intel
- Require BerkeleyDB to be installed (for now) if building non-static
- DNS Checkpoint updating-related fixes/changes
- Mempool updates

Further, are the missives still going on? The last one is like a month old, just curious if these updates have stopped or if we can expect them to continue again in the near future.

Yes - we had some editing nigglies we had to work out, and we had to pre-record some content as I can't record on Thursday (I'm wheels up on Wednesday, landing in Frankfurt on Thursday morning) and there will be gaps when I'm in Europe when I won't be able to record. So now we have arrows in the proverbial quiver;)

I have studied Economics Major. Stability can be:
- exchange rate stability
- price stability
- neither.

In the latter part of 1800s, exchange rates were fixed (each country's currency was just a differing weight of gold). Prices fluctuated a lot based on natural events, but had an overall declining trend based on productivity increases and expansion of trade.

Now, exchange rates change widely, even big countiers' currencies (USA; EU; Russia; Japan; China) are allowed to fluctuate by up to 100% per year against each other. This does not make prices stable, however. Some contractual prices are more sticky than the others (wages denominated in own currency), giving the impression of stability where nothing exist.

The prices have never been stable. We should not think that it could be possible in cryptoeconomy either. The whole goal is absurd and should be rejected.

Oh I see, currency stability is a mirage that I've accepted over not enough years of watching prices and remembering them throughout the seasons, and likely a misleading gimmick if used as a specific selling point. This makes a lot of sense, thanks!

Hi Everyone, Question:

TX ID: 1cea8e526aa65725065f495cb5f730f07b1d1071d508da01277210cf568f1858
I sent 24 coins to Poloniex Exchange almost an hour ago. It still hasn't shown up. I opened a ticket with their support desk.
However, what's the typical time frame to send coins to Poloniex?
I mine and don't sell. I have about 350 H/s which I can utilize about 20 hours a day so 24 coins is a lot to me Smiley

My experience is they have some unpredictable delays. Opening a ticket is reasonable, but almost every single time I've done that, the coins showed up before they answered the ticket and I just closed it.

I Never traded, so sending 24 XMR to exchange for .05 BTC would give me some experience in trading. Plus my hours were cut again at work so I have some free time Smiley

Hello devs!

1. Just your estimate, when will Monero toolchain, with new database included, be released? As I've read latest, LMDB support implementation is ready, but there are performance issues with LMDB under Windows (under Linux, performance seems to be good enough).

2. Are you satisfied by donations, especially donations from mining pools? Do that pools declared they make donations, actually do them with percentage given?
