How is the LMDB testing gong?
I am confused - I thought that the blockchain db upgrade has been release a few months ago? You can compile it yourself via github, but there is no official tagged release yet (see my previous post). I am running out of RAM, so an official LMDB launch would be great I agree. In the mean time maybe you could try to compile the DB version from Github, I havent done it myself but many have and I imagine the instructions for doing so are out there. I guess we can blame Windows, I'm running the new db on what feels like forever on Linux. Have you fully tested it? Like, can you make transactions and mine and all that? I dont mine with bitmonerod, maybe when smart mining is live. Try it out just to test it. I found that the current master will work fine until you start mining. Sometimes when I load simplewallet things get crazy too. If it happens to you, then we know that the bug pops up other places. If not, then in some environments its fine.

Is this just a commemorative silver coin or is there a Monero wallet embedded in the coin somehow?

Maybe I'm just noticing now but I see mymonero shows your XMR with 12 digits (piconero), Monero is more divisible than Bitcoin by default aside from not having the block limit problem. Monero fundamentals are really ripe for worldwide adoption.

Yes, XMR is divisible up to 12 digits. Though it can't be really advertised as a significant advantage, changing the Bitcoin code to do the same is only a matter of updating the implementation and is unlikely to be controversial if there is ever a need for it.

Monero's privacy and therefore fungibility are MUCH stronger than Bitcoin's. This makes Monero a better candidate to deserve the term "digital cash".

Yes. Thanks. We are looking forward when this will be possible. For now you can just bind a coin to any Monero wallet of your choice at our site. There is no real practical utility in that until the Monero View Key functionality will be available for us. After that you will be able to see the balance of the linked wallet the same way as you can already do with a Bitcoin wallet. Our coins can be linked to Monero and Bitcoin wallets simultaneously. If it's blockchain.info wallet (we use its API) you can also spend from the coin directly at cryptonic.net.

How moronic! Updated my BTC client and it never deleted the old one, so I accidentally used the old shortcut that never got replaced and fragged the entire blockchain. Downloading 4 years now. You would think after all these years on a "mature platform" they could get it right, and people bitch about XMR wallet.

Reason: 8 isn't devisable by 3, 12 is: BTC: 100 million satoshis XMR: 1 trillion piconeroj (or biljoen (dutch) /biljonen(german) ) currency markets have a market cap of multiple trillions, meaning we would likely never need to adjust this.

How is the LMDB testing gong?
I am confused - I thought that the blockchain db upgrade has been release a few months ago? Released to github master (staging and testing) and many people are using it. Not "released" in terms of a tagged release with a number and pre-built binaries. Also for those struggling to build/run the DB on Windows, a small linux virtual machine is one option (virtualbox is free). The memory requirements are extremely low, you could maybe get away with 256 MB RAM using text console linux, certainly 512 MB. I am using it already since a few weeks - this is why I was confused by the above statement.

I think that this should go into https://getmonero.org/getting-started/merchantsAll of the merchants are organised alphabetically. If there are any merchants that no longer provide Monero services, or a merchant that wishes to be added, please open an issue on this website's Github repository to alert us.

also it would be good to have simplewallet translated to chinese.
It does not lend itself to translating at the moment, as there is no i18n (ie, gettext or similar) used for all the strings it outputs. So that would need to be changed first, if translating simplewallet is wanted. And it'd probably pull all the rest of the core code which can send error messages as well. Agreed, basically speaking, we need the whole Monero environement translated into chinese, with Monero core, simplewallet, getmonero.org, and further documentation. So i think we have two options 1.) Hiring a chinese translator to do that all at the moment speaking and every 3 months what gets added. 2.) Organize a chinese community and hope they are doing this as long as Monero exists. Both have their downsides, but in my personal limited opinion, number 1 would be feasible and instant. What do you guys think? Let me know your thoughts Ladies and Gentleman!I pledge 50 XMR for the chinese translation as well, would make 675 XMR so far. Is there anybody willing to organize this?
As soon as someone comes forward willing to translate we can find a trusted escrow and talk with flyffly about how the new language will be integrated in the current website, also it would be good to have simplewallet translated to chinese. i would hit that. my chinese is quite good. Sounds good Can you give us an example of your translation, or has anybody here read a translated script from aminorex? I pledge 50 XMR for the chinese translation as well, would make 675 XMR so far. Is there anybody willing to organize this?

Let´s use a transparent escrow, i think this is in the interest for all of us @fluffy @smooth @GingerAleWhat do you think about translating getmonero.org into traditional chinese? We already have 675XMR pleged, so this would be an excellent oportunity to approach the chinese market with our beloved XMR I'll get this going on the getmonero thread, unless someone else gets it going. I guess we'll depend on our escrow in chief, unless someone trusts me to escrow. We'll also need someone to verify the chinese translation is good. Who can do that? I can escrow, but all I'll do is look at it and go "that looks like Chinese to me!" and then send the money. So.....

Snip* a bunch of translation chit chat
If there is going to be a big push for chinese awareness via social media and such in August, it would be great to have some of the infrastructure translated. Is this sufficient? https://bter.com/coininfo/XMR(press PRC flag to translate)
