What did I do wrong?
I mined with simplevert.com for ~14hrs and I stopped 10 hours ago and I still only get ~4 MONs.
Where as when I mine on p2pool network 1 and network 2, for each of the three previous days I Get ~47 MONS - 55 MONS a day. This is with 1.28Mh/s.

Nothing wrong, diff already by 82

Coin warez diff calculator gives me  7.6 MON on 1.28Mh using VTC calculator and modify diff to 82 and reward to 25

  not sure how you get these numbers... Trying the calculator myself...with 1.28mh/s and 82 diff gives me 15.7MONS a day. So half a day or (~12hrs) on simplevert should give me 7.6 MONS. Instead I got less than 4 MONs. Assuming VTC calculator works for MON anyways  .

To be honest, I don't really consider it that appropriate in general for us to be asking exchanges to add MON - the community should be doing that. If you want to trade MON on Poloniex, why don't you ask them? I'm sure everyone in the dev team would be happy to support such a request.

You have to reduce block reward from 50 (VTC) to 25 (MON)

IC, did the block reward halve yesterday? I guess its just coincidence that I start mining at simplevert when diff double and reward is halved. The sheer drop in mining output had me confused, i mean I was getting 4-5x that amount just the other day. I'm learning more about crypto everyday. Thanks for clarifying it for me.

No its been at 25 since block 1000 after a quick initial ramp-up of a day or so.

Difficulty has been climbing steadily though, that's probably why you're seeing decreasing returns.

Hate to the call the guy out if he's just being inattentive, but the node at soun.se (stratum+tcp://176.10.212.237:9555/) owes me > 30 MON plus some VTC.

There have been no payments for a while now. No valid operator contact info is listed at node's web pages.

If he doesn't attend to business and make pending payouts soon, I'd recommend the node be removed from those indicated on the first post in this thread.

And if anybody knows this guy, please let me know how to contact him.

Anti-virus software uses a bunch of heuristics to identify possible bad behaviour in software. Some of them are way too sensitive and broad, which ends up marking every damn wallet with a false positive. It might be that because the Monocle wallet makes a bunch of connections to other computers on the monocle network (it needs to do this since the network is peer-to-peer and it needs to relay blocks and transactions), it thinks it's a trojan calling home or some kind of nasty botnet communicating with other bots.

We have the same problem with Vertcoin wallets, and I'm sure many other coins also have this issue.

No, the block reward will stay at 25 until block 10079 where it will be reduced to 24.2611405, it will be continue being reduced every 10080 blocks (so about once every 2 weeks)

No diff to earnings is linear, assuming constant luck, which is a big assumption.

Using the earnings calculator as you described with the correct block reward and diff should give you a reasonable estimate. Yes, you obviously got lucky. Variance is _MUCH_ bigger than people assume.
