Not everyone follows the thread (I know they should be).
Good idea would be to write briefly (just few points).
- what will syscoin have that other coins do not have
- what syscoin has that some of other Top coins have
Good Q:
- what will syscoin have that [almost all] other coins do not have-- Marketplace Service
-- Certificate Issuance/Storage/Management and Transfer Services
-- Key/Value Storage Service (small data)
-- Data Storage Service (larger data, up to 250kb)
-- Universally Merge-Mineable with ANY other Scrypt PoW coin
-- All data tied to Syscoin services has provable ownership via the blockchain (aliases, data, certs and offers)
-- All Syscoin services are implemented directly on the blockchain and are visible via a block explorer. This is not an implementation on top of the blockchain, within the wallet only, or anything like that.
- what syscoin has that some of other Top coins have-- Scrypt based PoW for extremely strong network hashrate / merge mining means wider distribution of coins
-- Innovative features beyond simple PoW/PoS modifications (NXT, Ripple, Darkcoin, Namecoin, and MaidSafeCoin which comprise 50% of the top coins go beyond PoW/PoS modifications. These coins are
different than Syscoin, but pursue similarly large [or larger] innovative development initiatives)
many people are probably afraid that after syscoin is released development will stop and you will just take your profits from dev premine. dont get me wrong, i like what you did here, but this is crypto and investors probably would feel much safer if they would know that devs would get their coins some time after the launch or gradualy in several batches
All of the premine that is going to the dev team will be made public- we're publishing the wallet addresses so you can see we aren't dumping anything. There of course will be a portion of that funding that is used to pay forward moving, additional developers coming onto the team. This will not be in the dev wallets and will be in a separate wallet specifically for these types of payouts, happy to publish its address as well.
Just a heads up, I'm not too familiar with IRC lingo...but it looks like the channel is moderated (+m flag) and therefore those without a voice can't talk (get a "Cannot send to channel" error). Or maybe I'm just doing something wrong...but I don't see anyone else really talking in there, either, so I'm thinking I'm not the only one.
Thanks for the heads up, you are most likely right- sorry I'm admittedly an IRC noob and have been working to improve my knowledge in this regard. Let me research the MLOCK mode on the channel to get a better understanding of what the moderation flag does, and I'll remove it if unnecessary.
Anyway, excellent work guys, keep it up! I personally am not too worried about the dev portion of the premine, especially since the plan seems to be to make the team's addresses public. These guys are in it for the long haul.
Thanks very much! Doing our best to keep everyone updated! And yes we'll be making those addresses public, I can tell you follow this thread
Sorry we've been really busy we are trying to get a lot of web-properties ready for the launch (amongst other things). Because Syscoin is so different we're having to make some things from scratch (for instance, the block explorer is entirely new and rewritten using NodeJS and Bootstrap). Lots of irons in the fire right now!
