WTF just happened? I was seriously thinking about betting in favor of Italy, but cancelled my plans at the last minute.  Never in my wildest dreams I expected something like this. Anyway... who will qualify from the group? Italy or Uruguay?  My gamble paid off. I just had a feeling after Costa Rica's 3-1 victory over Uruguay. |

That was a silly penalty call because the French wouldn't have scored from that position anyway - he had no room to pass the ball. But thankfully they didn't score the penalty so we still have a game.

I'm not rooting for France (rooting for Switzerland OBV), but they are playing a damn good game. As put on TV, "There are more holes in the Swiss defence than in Swiss cheese". That penalty save was brilliant though. |

For me France is among the favorites, this match against swiss is the proof First tier favorites: Germany, Holland, France, Argentina Second tier: Brazil, Costa Rica, Chile I will wait until the Netherlands vs Chile to say something about Chile, at my point of view the victory over Spain means nothing, the Iker casillas team was shy and nervous the whole first half because of the Netherlands game, if they had played the whole game like they did in the second half which is the truly way of playing of Spain, they had won 2-0 at least. |

Exactly. That game will be a good indication of how far the teams will go. I'm thinking Germany - Netherlands final, Costa Rica and France out in semi-final.
France & Costa could go far if they don't get strong squads in the next round. The Holland vs Chile game will be very interesting as both teams will be wanting to avoid Brazil in the next round. My money's on Holland but it'll be close. |
