With the experience with BC, I doubt any alt is more than one-time p&d with occasional jumps on the way down. There is no alt that has broken the pattern so far. Shit - I learned the hard way. Could have become rich selling a few alts at peaks, but have almost nothing now EDIT: It might change when the next BTC bubble starts, but who knows... It's not about how much $ you can buy with your BC, but it's about how much BC you have. When that BC becomes useful, you're happy with your market position. In the meantime.. Alts are only profitable short term if you want more btc. In long term, who knows. I think BC is a serious contender.. but will take much effort and use before we beat ATH again.

I could have made a lot of money, but instead trusted in the HODLING method and lost a shitload of BTC along the way. Yet, now that I've got nearly nothing, I suppose I may as well keep holding my coins as I'm afraid that I'll just lose more via trading. I just hope that BlackCoin really does pick up. I seriously do...

I believe they are buying on Bittrex, but I haven't talked with the pool operators (LDG: StGNU and TheDoge) in a long time.. I don't mine either, but I understand the pool does not pay out?

I seriously do... It will, once it becomes used.. I know some player (Jabulon, Vizique) are doing a lot to get merchants on board. We just should do the same. We have our own Bitpay now ( www.cointopay.com) so it's real easy.. we just need BC to be used now. Getting merchants on board etc. and gaining user base. PS: Only reason BTC became big is because it had killer service :Silk Road. We need killer service or real use.. else its only speculative value..

I have participated in two payout rounds and got not a single coin Date Hash Type Your Shares Total Shares Average Hash Rate Profitability BC Sent Status 2014-08-11 00:03:04-04:00 Scrypt 9510035.3536 1920461736.21 7.21 MH/s Unknown N/A Pending 2014-08-10 00:03:25-04:00 Scrypt 9471796.6201 1723288520.63 7.18 MH/s Unknown N/A Pending BC send: N/A. Also looking at the depth graph in cryptsy or bittrex the pool having a few GHs should easily bring BC above 12k thats why I am asuming, it does not buy at all. Also, cryptsy api is still offline

Hope so too, but wouldn't bet on it :p @ BrianM, you've got to help them understand BC .. then maybe you can buy beer with it I know McKie told about some stuff that he can get BC on creditcard today maybe.. We will hear from him if that is the case

I can't believe I can get BC this cheap. Thank you Scammy-IPO's that suck the money out of coins doing hard work right NOW, not on the long-distant promise....
No really, thank you. I can double my BC holdings at this rate.

How do you explain such a downtrend with almost no inflation where multipools actually help the price?
Which multipools exactly help the price? At the current moment no one I know. blackcoinpool.com is not paying out for the whole weekend cryptsy API is still fucked up since the last maintenance (they have experience in fucking things up). And noone cares. Who mines on those anyway anymore? Why would you when the price only goes down. And the volume on exchanges means they are only slowly dumping,

And the volume on exchanges means they are only slowly dumping, It makes more sense to mine when the price is low since you get more coins per MH. And at their current rate, they should do 2-3 BTC/day, what would be enough to rise BC price by 2000 satoshi.
