Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Looks like there are 3 forks now. 0feepool, POH and the rest (Chinese farm?).. Plus my wallet has stopped synching at block 1932

Hopefully not....

I have ran a test:

Deleted everything on appdata/Vericoin includeing my wallet (if you try this also, BACKUP YOUR WALLET.DAT)

Let it resync again

And i was on the chain of PoH pool.

*edit*

Further test:

i was sending 7500 coins to C-Cex, and they are pening already.

For me its looking like PoH got the right blockchain like C-Cex.

*edit2*
I just saw, the VeriCoin devteam messaged me some h ago while i was sleeping, asking if we could disable registrations for a while until they fixed the problem.
We will do as the devteam decided for proveding a good "pool support" to VRC.
Hopefully you will understand this. However, if you want to bring your friends, invitations are still accepted by the pool.

As i told you, as soon as we can get in touch with the devteam, we will try to figure it out and finding a solution (with an US based PoH server or not, we will see this later today).

*edit3*

I have had run that test again: Let a new wallet completly sync (it stuck for me @ block 1200 for about 20s, then it synced the rest) and sending some coin to C-Cex:
worked again fine for me.

Guys, yesterday, you said our pool take mostly hashrate, it's harmfull. And appeal people spread to your pool. Then your pool take over 90% hashrate of whole vericoin network and we get less than 10%. Now, who fork it? I have nothing to say about it and just feel sad about the coin.

To the owner of 0feepool who posted this on the pool:

  Guys, Plz stop mining vericoin

Because another pool ( http://188.226.139.209/MPOS/public ) take mostly hashrate of vericoin and much more than 51% of whole vericoin. It makes vericoin forked. Please stop mining. The coin died. For the further imformation, you can follow the dev thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=602041 I feel so sad about the coin.

1. The coin is not dead.
2. Maybe you were asleep but you did nothing to get on the right chain.
3. You would have a lot of valid coins that were mined before the fork.
4. Are your miners going to get paid those coins?

Yes i know what we said. But than many ppl came to us and we closed registrations. I was at sleep as that happenend and i have no idea how this could happen. Still registrations at our pool are closed.

hey guys my wallet crash this morning ... what happen ?

this night the blockchain got forked. Our pool, the PoH pool seems like to have had more than 90% of hashrate. We closed the registrations before i went to bed but
i think the problem might have been the multipools. The network hashrate was yesterday evening and until i went to bed most likely over 1,5 gh/s so the PoH didn't have too much hashing power. But these multipools or mega farms stopped mineing and the hash balance got destroyed.

*edit2* The Vericoindev team told me to please close registrations again. They are working to get it fixed, and i will, as far as i can, do everything i can for getting this right again.

Some posts above i told you, that if the devs think another pool would be helpfull that i would create another pool for the community located in the US so that the miners could choose the best server via location.

Only a pool that take over 51% hashrate of whole network can fork the coin. It's not my fault and I have close the pool and wait for dev's respond. I think PoH Pool may close mine too, wait for a further info from dev. It's not a good time that still mining.

I think he didn't say you forked the coin or that it would be your fault.
I wrote above what i think happened, network speed dropped dramatically, PoH pool got to much hashing power and it broke.

This happened to other coins also, where i didn't have had much contact with the Devs.

The vericoindevs seems to be very friendly and willing to find a fix soon. As this happened this night, they already messaged me telling me please to let the registrations closed atleast for the while when they are fixing the blockchain.

So i think right now (if they are not in bed Wink) they are working on a fix.

So i also dont think the coin is dead!

I think, we do not need to blame, last night i see net hashrate almost 3 Gh,  but then declined rapidly, my wallet now work perfectly .
i think we should wait the dev to fix this, i don't side with anyone, because I am not a technical person.

this is a potential coin, let's make it bigger , peace  Grin

hi hicks Wink

No i don't think it was because of a single miner.
Now the PoH has about 260 mh/s and the network speed is between 480-550 mh/s. So we are not the only pool who are on that fork. Also the Dev supernode is on our blockchain. I think we really have to wait for their return. I am haning on the VRC irc channel, and as soon as i get any informations i will share them with you.

Berric. You ignored the most important questions.  I don't care if you close your pool but I do care if you run away with all the the coins that are valid (and there would be plenty of them).  Paying out those coins has NOTHING to do with what happened later.  Pay up mate.

Hi, I can not sync the wallet. How can I take away or payout the coin? If I delete the block data and sync to the "right" chain. How can I have so much coins pay it? If I snyc to the "right" chain. It'll lost many invalid coins. How can I do? I'm not go away. I said I still wait for dev's respond.

The most important thing i think right now is: Don't panic!!!

I bet you are not new to cryptocurrency and that you have seen some forks on other coins also. I saw the revival of "dead" coins, small coins, but which are haveing more buy/sell power now than before the bad thing happed to them.

I saw, that with a strong community, coins can become bigger and bigger.

He replied and he didn't run away. Please be patient !!

Yeah. All the coins mined on the wrong fork will go but the coins mined before that will stay. That's just tough luck for you, me and everyone else on the pool. Hey, I've got over 8,000 coins still on your pool.  I noticed the fork after an hour or so and moved off your pool so some of them should have been mined when everything was OK and I would like them.
