well im over this  shit now .its not even funny anymore.i have resync'ed for the 23rd time.yes that many.no bullshit.i have the latest wallet.i got the config setup right and even tried with out.it run for a bit than goes out of sync again or i end up with x amount of coins extra appear in my wallet.so i run repair wallet .it fixes the extra coin problem than low and behold its back out of sync.its a fuking joke really.sorry for sounding hash but im not getting any interest from staking or very little cause of this.its the whole reason people mined this coin and hold it and it aint working and no it not me im not new been doing crypto for over a year now and i have over 600+ wallets sync on my pc and i have no trouble running any of the other PoS wallets Angry Huh Cry surely cryptsy cant add this with such a terrible wallet

Are you running version 1.1.1? If not, you need to download the current version.
no i wasnt mate .just found out in IRC that there was a new one.maybe dev u post a little note on OP page stating what version is released.after all we arent all mine readers

I feel your pain Mate. I've been round and round with posts here that document my Travails with the VRC wallet.

In The final analyisis. I ended up BUYing back in due to the DILIGENCE Of the developers

They R omipresent on IRC and good about this Forum.

Yesterday late evening EST the 1.1.1 version of the Wallet was released by Effects to Cause who is nothing short of a wizard in my book

I was thinking that he would post a notice on this thread. I checked a few times . It wasn't done as far as I know.

In hindsight I should have followed my instinct and put up a link to it here. I did not. I will try to be more proactive in the future.

I'm a newbie, and in this NEW world of crypto U R a grizzeled veteran. (Probably why U r hangin')

The concepts and plans for VeriCoinis is what got me involved.

BUT my Wallet is Functioning like a fine swiss watch, and that was before the 1.1.1 was needed

Almost all of VeriCoiners were victimized by the earlier problems and lost coins on wrong forks. Even the Dev's weren't immune.

If anyone can succeed in the crypto world it's this group of folks.

They admit their short comings and get to work on the solution. and can always be found on IRC and have responded to me immediatley every time.

I feel U Mate; but I'm staying in the boat with these guys. Hope U can see a way to stay aboard also.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

I know that it's frustrating, but the entire VeriCoin team is working very hard to solve these issues. We are dedicated to making this coin a success, and we really appreciate how you (and everyone else) has stuck by us.

It would be easy to throw our hands up and say "I give up," but we are not doing that. I see that you are not doing that either. By sticking together, we can make this work.

We thank you for your support, and we thank you for your patience. You won't be disappointed.

Here's the latest wallet. I've made some changes and it now is packaged with an installer and critical files to getting you online (.conf file and bootstrap file).

Please feel free to wipe your .vericoin directory besides wallet.dat.

VeriCoin 1.1.1 Windows Installer - https://mega.co.nz/#!sxIjlRxB!_Dz0S2B059Ena5jWHvKZNf6lZcKblcEL4mYjH6V6L3w

Not going to list this officially until we have a few confirmed testers.

Why don't the dev just hire someone from the outside to help fix this issue or offer a bounty. I'm just saying. Dev Rat4 from Blackcoin helped fix Cinni Wallet, Mint wallet, and I think one more but I'm not sure. I just want this coin and its features fully working. I holding coins and not selling because I believe in this coin.

We're trying to get a bunch of things up to speed at once. The main thing holding us back is that we have no dnsseeds. We are working on them but it takes time for DNS to propagate. I just posted a new wallet just above your post which solves many issues.

This coin has so much potential and great devs. But I do think Vericoin needs a slicker logo.

Official Release 1.1.1 with working DNSseeds and a stronger network for syncing!

Big thanks to Langerhans, lead dev of Dogecoin for helping us debug the DNSseed setup, and pcmerc for being the man with everything, in addition to hosting our DNSseeds!

Go here to download: http://www.vericoin.info/

1. As usual go into:

-Windows
  %appdata%\Roaming\VeriCoin

-Mac
  ~/Library/Appplication\ Support/Vericoin/

2. Keep wallet.dat and delete everthing else (best to backup wallet.dat too)

3. Install wallet:

-Mac
download wallet place anywhere and open it up, the block will sync may take a little while.

-Windows
we now have an installer, uncheck bootstrap.dat if you don't want to hard import the blockchain (can take 5-10 minutes) and just download it like normal.  Keep it checked if you want to hard import the block to avoid being stuck.  Follow install instructions and run.

-If you get a wallet.dat error on the wallet window, you have a corrupted wallet.dat file follow these steps:

Click on the help menu, then Debug window, now click on the console tab.
In the text field type in this command with your receive address (public address)

dumpprivkey <address>

copy and paste this key into a text file.

Close vericoin-qt

Now delete everything in directory mentioned above including wallet.dat (best to keep a backup)

Now open vericoin-qt and let it load full block

In console tab mentioned above now type this with your private key from text file

importprivkey <privatekey> ( may take 5 minutes or so)
