Official Release 1.1.2!

Fixed a bug in the staking protocol that caused some clients to hang and lose sync with the network.  Also limited connectivity to the newer more stable clients.

Go here to download: http://www.vericoin.info/

If you are in sync (most are), no need to reload the blockchain, go to step 3.

1. If you are out of sync or stuck follow these instructions

-Windows
  %appdata%\Roaming\VeriCoin

-Mac
  ~/Library/Appplication\ Support/Vericoin/

2. Keep wallet.dat and delete everthing else (best to backup wallet.dat too)

3. Install wallet:

-Mac
download wallet place anywhere and open it up, the block will sync, may take a little while.

-Windows
Double click the installer, check bootstrap.dat if you want to reload the block, otherwise leave it unchecked.

-If you get a wallet.dat error on the wallet window, you have a corrupted wallet.dat file follow these steps:

Click on the help menu, then Debug window, now click on the console tab.

In the text field type in this command with your receive address (public address)

dumpprivkey <address>

copy and paste this key into a text file.

Close vericoin-qt

Now delete everything in directory mentioned above including wallet.dat (best to keep a backup)

Now open vericoin-qt and let it load full block

In console tab mentioned above now type this with your private key from text file

importprivkey <privatekey>  (may take 5 minutes or so)

I was having desync issues on OSX still with the 1.1.2 wallet. Now I have done the following last night prior to going to sleep with amazing results.

OSX is what I'm using:

Create a backup of your current wallet that is causing you problems. cp wallet.dat wallet.dat.recent

Make sure the wallet is fully synced before importing your key as that's how I did it.

In console tab mentioned above now type this with your private key from text file

importprivkey <privatekey>  (may take 5 minutes or so)

Let it run for a couple mins after import then close the wallet.

Run the wallet with -resync once & let it sync up.

Provided it's synced & no issues, close the wallet.

Run the wallet with -salvagewallet & let it run for say 15mins.

Close the wallet, open & check for any issues.

So far, not 1 desync & only 1 conflicted transaction out of many that are currently staking.

Prior to this, desync & transaction issues would have happened within 10-15 mins. It's been 4+ hours Cheesy

Please test if you are having similar issues.

I believe alot of the wallets are borked & were on forked chains. As I know mine was. I believe this is contributing to the issues with the wallet.

Is there an updated timeline for the Multipool?

Initial testing tonight with X11 and Stratum. No stats yet and no BTC->VRC automated conversions yet.

Hopefully it will be all ready this weekend. Come to the IRC channel if you want to test tonight or tomorrow.

This is what I did:

1) Removed wallet.dat from OLD vericoin app data..put in safe place
2) Deleted everything in old vericoin appdata including the folder itsself.
3) Downloaded 1.2
4) Installed 1.2
5) Ran 1.2 for a few minutes & closed it
6) removed NEW wallet.dat & replaced with old one
7) restarted 1.2

Result: Wallet is stuck on blk 21161 & I have no Coins in 'unconfirmed'

Am I doing something wrong? Why is this not user friendly, I feel like I need to go to college to figure this out. Any help would be appreciated.

Ok, update.. looks like im fully synced. However, is it possible my prior stake interest was on a 'fork' chain, as its showing in transactions as 'not accepted'. If so , thats ok.. i can understand that, the bulk of my coin is in hand now. Sorry if I got a lil silly.. was just a lil fustrated. Ill keep wallet open for now, if it helps things?

Yes, you are doing it wrong. Do it as the directions posted for 1.1.2 were listed. Do not use your old wallet by replacing the temporary new one.

You need to export your privatekey from your current wallet & import it into a new wallet.

It appears that some of the wallets are borked from being attached to certain forks.

Again as with all software, it's in testing, UNTIL a bug is found Smiley

If i could suggest ,

1 / Send all your coin to an exchange

2 / install a fresh new wallet on ur computer with a fresh new wallet.dat ( new adress )

3 / send your coin from exchange to your new wallet .

4 / you have now a fresh wallet with just 1 transaction .  exchange > wallet

cheers ,

They were impatient. They will be kicking themselves when we hit Cryptsy and the price skyrockets.

If the wallet didn't have the sync issues it would be worth a lot more.  That's probably why you see sell offs.
