This is the end of a very promising coin, the Mintpal hack was irreversible.

I hope pnosker and effects have better luck in his work on Arch.

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

The vericoin developers were so busy working on archcoin they forgot to mention 4million vericoin was stolen.  Or was it they don't give a shit about this coin. Telling people to keep buying is like telling people to jump on the titanic while it sinks.  Sick to my stomach looking at this shit

And just how important innovation is, there is ViaCoin which I have been referring in this thread quite a lot. ViaCoin has been very-very good for us investors, and the innovation of btcdrak took care of the business, it's keep returning the profit. Apart from the profit it's great to see that the hard work of btcdrak pay off.  In the meantime, while others innovate and work very-very hard, VeriCoin is basically became a shit coin.

Seriously though..pretty fucked up VRC devs decided to jump ship to ARCH while they still had so much stuff to work on VRC. Finish your original commitment first guys.

Reminds me of when CLOAK devs were hyping up PoSA...shit wasn't even done nor confirmed working then they hyped up another project called CIARA. Cloak was @ 300+k sats then. Guess what happened? Look at CLOAKs price today.  'nuff said.

People sell their VeriCoin because
a) there is no innovation, and therefore Vericoin is just one of the 500+ BTC/LTC clones
b) investors feel the developers abandoned the coin by working on other projects
c) there were too many empty promises and the enough is enough

That's why the price is 4.9K and there is zero chance to turn this ship around.

There was never a better chance to make money. I  expect another BTC in about 12 hours and I love the low price. There's no better coin around, no matter what all the paid fudders in here write.

This is really unfortunate. I was on the initial run up to 50k, held most after some profit, got a friend to buy in at 30k and held until 15k. Not even transparency can keep developers from succumbing to greed.

Enjoy the hate mail Doug and Pat, you guys earned it.

Don't stress it.  It's impossible to time the market perfectly. 6k is still a great price.

As far as Moolah stealing VRC (for possibly the 2nd time around), we can give a big thank you to all the Vericoin holders who continued to store their VRC on Mint after they were stolen the first time.  A couple weeks back on the day of the Moolah bankruptcy notice I asked everyone on IRC how much VRC Mintpal was still holding because it was obvious to me at that point that Moolah was a criminal thief just like Karpeles and those coins were probably gone.  Anyone that can put 2 and 2 together can figure out that anything Ryan Kennedy was in control of would probably get dumped.  But if you want to know for sure, someone needs to go back on the block explorer and find the address that was Mint's and see if they have been moved.  It is worth us tracking this down.

Also, anyone who has been able to withdraw alot of VRC from MINT after the website went down should post here too as that information is helpful.

If the coins have not all been moved then I think we seriously need to burn those coins somehow and just reduce the total amount of coins.  Too many crooks in crypto get rewarded for their immoral and criminal behavior and if we still have any shot at a small amount of justice against Moolah, we should take it.  It's sad that he is not in jail as we speak and that he is allowed to continue moving and hiding BTC and other currencies at his leisure.  Kinda blows my mind actually.  This is felony grand theft just as if he stole expensive artwork or collectibles or anything of value.  Why have the UK police not put him in jail and seized all of his PCs?  Why is there not a warrant on his passport to prevent him from running?  This is not a civil matter but criminal and I urge anyone in the UK or any country where Mr Moolah is located to contact their authorities and FBI and keep calling them until they put his ass in jail for 50 years.

Until we successfully prosecute and remove the thieves who are singlehandedly destroying crypto, it is destined to fail.

I don't see how crypto is decentralized when the developers can come in and fuck the coin UP and prices up in seconds.

There's nothing great about the programming of Vericoin. Vericoin was like boxing up a piece of shit in some nice wrapping paper.

I feel sorry for people who purchased it at 50k, 40k, 30k, 20k, 10k to never see it rebound worth a shit. But that's what you get when the developers don't give a rats ass about the coin and the development is half assed.

What kind of monkey ass programming course do I need to take to replicate the trashy shit popping up in my Vericoin wallet every time I load it?
