What is the benefit of mining with the slimminer?
any increased efficiency?

I compiled slimminer on Windows (it's my first compiled program on C for last 10 years)
and I found no difference in performance: about 0.45 kH/s per amd core.

I deleted the message to check the result, now brought it back

I have the same speed per core with an Intel i5 750 (pretty old). Is your CPU new or old? If it's a newer model, you might want to add the optimizations for AMD.
So far I haven't found a block with the miner, and it's now running over 16h...

I have two amd CPU: new and old and both have ~0.45 kH/s.
So, I have about 4 kH/s total and got 4 POW blocks in about 15 hours.

Hey all, I built a Mac version of the wallet, which you can get here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/b5irhas4xqvh2pb/Slimcoin-Qt-0.3.0.0-Mac.zip

This wallet should work on Mac OS X 10.7 and up. I've been mining with it for a little while now and it seems pretty solid. Let me know if you encounter any problems.

Normally I don't solicit tips, but I've been having pretty poor luck solo mining. Sad So if the Mac wallet makes your life easier, please consider sending me a coin or two: SRyEGEAKjio4ZwSzCQqYCYEZeRBecNV8sx

Enjoy!

I think solo mining is dependent on luck.
I mined with my thinkpad i7 core using 6 threads.
The speed is only 1.7kh in total.
I got a block within 2 hours.

How can I limit the miner so it use only 2 cores?

setgenerate true 'number of cores/threads' - so,

setgenerate true 2

or -t 2 for the miner.

POB depend of POW so I suppose it is also an orphan POW block Huh
