@freigeist

Thanks.  Grin
I mean I clearly did not understand correctly I mean I understood that he plans to  start distribution on 2nd of April
and that the deadline to send the coins to him has to be announce because he put there: "Deadline: to be announced"

I will then proceed with the process soon as possible.

Is this another scam?

No, ORA is not a scam! ORA is a community project, and no money has been raised, and all costs and expenses have been paid for with donations and voluntary contributions of time and effort.

Initial stakes were free, and all subsequent ORA trading has been done by consenting adults (probably not actually, I expect many traders are in their teens) via the NXT AE.

whats going on with this?

A good question!! As far as I know Darkhorse will be proceeding with the redemption plan as previously outlined. I know he was quite severely impacted from floods in his part of the world earlier in January, so I expect recovering from that event has taken up a lot of his time of late. I fully expect Darkhorse will complete the redemption process sometime soon(ish).

As for myself, I was the victim of a hack back in mid January and I needed to take a break from crypto for a while to take stock and lick my wounds. I wasn't completely wiped out (probably a 6.5/10 on the hacking richter scale) but it was enough to knock me around mentally & emotionally. I learnt a few life lessons, so some good came from it.

As for project ORA itself we'll complete the redemption process and swap ORA & MIC assets for XOR MS currency tokens, then ... I'm not sure. That's the truth as I see it. ORA hasn't exactly taken off, but we have shown a certain degree of resilience, and many coin projects have vanished due to scams and unethical behavior, but we haven't been unethical, and we're still trying.

I do believe it's still very early days for crypto, and the universe has a way of rewarding persistence. Maybe ORA will attract more support once the redemption process is underway and we'll crack the holy grail - 'a real world use for an MS currency'.

We need help, that's for sure, and if you've followed ORA for a while you'll probably know that we were trying to build an ethically focused community FIRST, then flesh out the tech and other details as we went along once we had more people involved.

If your a "glass half full' person'' we're probably still on the 'build an ethically focused community first' stage.

If your a "glass is half empty" person we've probably failed and ORA is dead.

We lost our original dev under difficult circumstances, and since then it's been difficult to generate active support. I take full responsibility for that, but in my heart of hearts I think I tried close to my best to plant a 'seed' that had a chance to grow into a decentralized leaderless starfish. Sometimes people try hard and fail. I think trying to start a crypto project as a non-developer is particularly hard.

For those that bought ORA tokens on the NXT AE and are under water ... I'm sorry. I'm pretty sure I'm down the most (I bought ~14 million ORA) but that doesn't mean your loss is any less, but hopefully it does show that whatever happens from here, ORA was/is a serious attempt to 'create' something, and the people involved weren't trying to scam anyone. We just seem to have failed to generate enough active interest ... so far.

I'm definitely not giving up! As I said above, the universe seems to reward persistence.

ANNOUNCEMENT

Hello everyone,

As per announced earlier, i am planning to redistribute XOR to all the ORA asset holders on the 2nd of April, or maybe sooner depending on the scenario. To redeem for XOR, you need to send all your ORA assets to the NXT account NXT-G7QA-2KUA-BLLZ-5FUCY. No messages needed attached with the assets. That is all. A very simple process. I will then send the XOR back to your account that you used to send me the ORA assets. You can start sending them now and on the deadline i will send the XOR to you. Please do not wait until last minute to send your assets, do it fast.

NXT account to send your ORA assets: NXT-G7QA-2KUA-BLLZ-5FUCY

Deadline: To be announced.

For MIC holders,

Please use the same account to send your MIC assets. The exchange ratio :

Quote
i. MIC - Allocated 10% - 55,951,603.

Total existing MIC = 250,000,000
So, each MIC will receive = 55,951,603/250,000,000 =  0.22 XOR

You can start sending your assets now!.

If you haven't already, please send in your ORA & MIC assets Smiley

This is a very good statement of determination, Thanks!

The NXT monetary system is one of those wonderboxes that suddenly appear and are so powerful that initally no one really knows what to do with it until someone rips that cord and something unexpected and huge pops out.

ORA is the first, so I won't be surprised if we see some astonishing surprises!

Also, the initial plan was to make (yet) another QORA clone, and ORA is lucky that that plan didn't work out, considering what has happened to QORA- so please go ahead!

By the way- are there any more ORA tokens to be bought on the NXT AE, and can I still send thim in?

Should be possible as I understood, the 2nd April was not a deadline, but a starting date for exchange, yes?

I havent checked in some time, I just checked, -there is a bunch left, I think maybe I'll get  me some more!

I just had a peek at some info over on nxtforum:

https://nxtforum.org/index.php?topic=7407.msg153008#msg153008

•   Exchangeable: Currencies can be exchanged all within the Nxt platform or on traditional exchanges, each identified by unique name and ticker symbols (e.g. BTC, USD).
•   Controllable: Currencies may optionally only be traded with the issuing account (e.g. backed tokens such as gift vouchers).
•   Reserveable: Currency units are released and distributed if funding requirements are met within the given timescale, if not funds are automatically returned (e.g. crowdfunding).
•   Claimable: Reserveable units can later be exchanged at an agreed rate.
•   Mintable: Currencies can be mined by proof-of-work algorithms (SHA-256, SHA-3, Scrypt and keccak), whilst still being secured by Nxt’s proof-of-stake algorithm.
•   Shuffleable: Coins can be shuffled when this feature is implemented (anonymity).

So which of these properties does XOR have, and what does that actually mean?

@l8orre, thanks for the positive feedback!! I agree 100% that the NXT MS is incredibly powerful, maybe even more so than the NXT AE. I think the majority of crypto followers to date have a day-trader/speculator/gambling mind-set, so many haven't fully comprehended what's going with NXT generally, including the NXT MS. In a way that's not a bad situation, as it'll give the NXT devs and early founding community members time to iron out any bugs and 'prepare' for the future. Nobody knows the future, but I think it's pretty obvious to most people who have a reasonable broad understanding of the current crypto landscape can see that NXT is quite different to ALL other crypto projects around. IMO it's just a matter of time before the penny drops and we see some larger players enter the NXT arena. When that happens I can imagine 1000's of viable NXT assets and MS currencies. I think ORA has a great chance to be supported in the future, mainly because our 'history' is pretty solid. When the NXT tide starts to rise ORA should be in a good position to gain more support. That's my hope anyway Smiley

As for the specifics of what MS parameters ORA ends up with that's still up for grabs. Darkhorse and I (and the other ORA early supporters) decided we should register the 'XOR' name asap, but we did this with the understanding that we could basically re-issue the XOR MS tokens to another 'version' with a different set of parameters for a small fee of 40 nxt. That means ORA is still basically a blank sheet of paper waiting for the details to be added in many ways, but we have secured a nice 3 char currency code, and hopefully the outlay of the 25K NXT fee for the 'XOR' name was a demonstration of our ongoing commitment to doing all we can to create something 'ineteresting'. Darkhorse did specify some parameters but if anyone wanted to propose different ones they'd be most welcome. We need/love input!!

Thanks again for the supportive comments Smiley

Any update about distribution?

I haven't heard anything from Darkhorse. I know DH is a very honourable guy, so I'm assuming his current focus is on real world matters. I have sent in all my ORA to the redemption address, and as Darkhorse is the chief community treasurer for ORA and was the person who created and controls the XOR MS currency account, we have to wait for him to proceed with the redemption. I suspect his life was turned upside down by the floods in his part of the world earlier in the year. Darkhorse has been super solid, so lets give him some more time before we discuss options. A slight delay wont change much, and I'm pretty sure he'll be back with us soon.

I personally haven't been able to transfer my ORA yet because I'm having some problem syncing the NXT client. Will try to get it working ASAP.
