Question: Due to big HYPER projects like Poker site, giveaways, competitions, bounties and marketing the 500 000 HYPER MMO Development Fund will be at 450 000 HYPER soon. What should we do?
Keep sponsoring more awesome HYPER projects and spend it down to 400 000 HYPER and then preserve the fund at 400 000 HYPER - 115 (45.1%)
Limit spending (less HYPER projects) until the monthly staking brings the fund back up to 500 000 HYPER - 40 (15.7%)
Manage it how you like. HYPER seems to be going awesome keep it up! - 100 (39.2%)

Right, I noticed noticed (my mistake) that 1 Platinum equals 100 Gold on Terraria... Therefore, I think it should be 50 HYPER per 1 Platinum...

Any news on the Feed the Beast server?
Also, is it using a custom modpack or a pre-set one? I.e Unleashed, Monster etc

As far as I know the sever is still up and running fine, the wiki will have some info on it at http://hypercrypto.com/wiki/index.php/Main_Page
If not I'll see if I can find any info for you if someone doesn't beat me to it,

Sorry, but I've actually discussed this with quite a few people now (including, though I'm not going to give names to avoid conflict, people who are involved in HYPER game servers) and I have to put this out here as it's always come to the same conclusion. This post is going to bash and bash and bash, and it's going to be brutally honest, but if you follow these steps it will make life for HYPER infinitely easier. I really do suggest you read it and take a good few minutes to absorb it before starting to type a reply so that you don't automatically go into a defensive mode and tell me to piss off. I know I would probably if I immediately replied after seeing a post like this on my MC server's forums. Make yourself a drink and get ready to read a lot. I do not recommend you skim-read this. Made that drink? Right, let's get started:

Ignoring a few other points which really aren't worth going over...your presentation is terrible.

http://hypercrypto.com/forum/index.php?PHPSESSID=9ccdc2e473adf6f492292c4faaa2dc85&board=15.0

FULL of spam. Some of which is over a WEEK old.

http://hypercrypto.com/forum/index.php

Uses the default SMF theme, looks terrible because you haven't actually bothered to structure or make it look nice. SMF logo remains at the top, you haven't even installed a decent theme and I doubt you've installed any packages either. You haven't configured anything which makes a good forum good, the admin of the forum (HYPERfuture) has the rank of Global Moderator, showing you haven't even touched the ranks. That's just cringe-worthy and shows the forum is a rushed job. Sorry, it's true.

A forum can be your #1 method of communication with the HYPER community and something that shows everyone interested in the coin that it has a lot going for it, rather than that it's an un-organized cesspool, like what some 12 year old who thinks he can make an awesome forum goes and creates after visiting freeforums.org. I would happily re-design the forums for you (as an admin) and make a lot of changes that would make it 100x better as I have forum experience, because right now you could just do so much better. Those changes would come very quickly.

Some other notes. Let's look at http://hypercrypto.com/ - it's a nice site, nothing special, built on Wordpress. Here's some of the issues, though:

You've put the arguably most useful links at the bottom of the page. The forum link, the IRC link, the reddit link - the places you can see the intelligent discussion of the community. Right now it is WAY too hard to find. You should have, at the very top of your page, an introductory paragraph, followed IMMEDIATELY by a second paragraph listing the various ways you can access these modes of communication. Making people jump through hoops to try and access them is not good. Additionally, you have a live feed for Facebook and Twitter at the bottom of the page...ok, that's fine...but your last Facebook update was 4 months ago.

Your homepage is also very long. You put a massive about summary on the homepage. Shorten it by a lot and allow people who are smart and interested in the specs and details to see it on an About page. The average cryptocoiner doesn't want to read an essay on your coin specs, they want to quickly see a) it's innovations, b) it's innovations and c) it's innovations. Your link buttons do provide links to some of the important links but I actually only just realized this on further inspection of the page. EVERYONE who looks at your homepage will hover over 1 or 2 buttons and then continue scrolling. They don't want to look through your 50 gigantic buttons. You've both put way too much text and way too many large images. Simplify your homepage and then add it onto your navbar on new pages, have drop down navbar sections if you need them. More pages will always look better.

I know you work hard on your coin but you're focusing in the wrong places. The MMO project will only do so much for HYPER. It's a game. Sure, it will have a decent effect if it's custom built for HYPER, but if your presentation is as uninviting as this, HYPER will never kick off properly. You want much larger buy walls than you have right now? Work for it. Giving bounties for game servers makes it fun for those who are involved in the coin but it doesn't actually help adoption that much. You'll notice not many people play these servers and they're not built on sustainable models. This is something you need to encourage your game server owners to do, not throw bounties at them. Because combined with the HYPER they sell off and the drains on the wallet the HYPER rewards have, they'll eventually run out due to having crappy sustainability models.

There is always that person who will happily drop $10 of HYPER into the server if it gets big, if you have the right model. TF2 is a perfect example of this, with servers that offer subscriptions, etc. One of the things I would immediately do if I had any kind of role of responsibility on the HYPER forum is to make a private section for server owners. Discuss monetization. It may feel dirty but the truth is these servers will drop dead without it. Keep in mind my other suggestions too.

I look forward to a detailed and well thought-out response. Thanks for your time.

You make some good points. I don't take it personally at all. It comes down to project management time and resources.

hypercrypto.com developer is still working on the site. In the meantime we have http://hyper.cash and also a new HYPER gaming gateway being developed: http://hypercrypto.com/forum/index.php?board=23.0

Just deleted the off-topic section of the hypercrypto forum. That was the ONLY section that had spam so to say spam is all over the forums is incorrect Tongue

Just added a new discussion board for game server admins under HYPER Development Board: http://hypercrypto.com/forum/index.php?board=26.0

hypercrypto.com site is continuing to be worked on and I agree the more important links should be at the top of the site.

Also agreed the forum needs some cosmetic improvements but we have over 600 members and the main thing is it's up consistently, functional and usable.

One of my MAJOR iffs is the fact you have 20 different categories. It's just un-organized.

TS should also be encouraged and used much more.

Yes perhaps it should all be condensed down but it's a nice way for new people to see all the game servers we are running at a glance.

I'll open it up to the community - do you want the game server sections on the hypercrypto.com forum to be condensed down into a single category? Discuss here and let me know!

Also in regards to the servers being sustainable in terms of monetization there are also ways to spend HYPER on the game servers so this is being worked on. Also the HYPER gaming gateway is shaping up nicely http://hypercrypto.com/forum/index.php?board=23.0 and will be easily monetized due to the high traffic. When the HYPER GG is complete this will bring a very professional face to the HYPER gaming network of servers. The new server stats and betting pages for CS and Assetto Corsa are great too: http://ac.microngaming.com/ and http://csgo.microngaming.com/ also looks like there are a few players on CS right now Wink

Some ideas for further monetization of the game servers:

- Tournaments with large HYPER prizes but they require a HYPER entrance fee
- Sell advertising space in-game on the game servers for HYPER
- More ideas???

Let me know your ideas guys!

EDIT: the wiki is really the best place to see all the HYPER resources in one place until the HYPER gaming gateway and hyeprcrypto.com site are complete http://hypercrypto.com/wiki I will look into getting a menu at the top of hypercrypto.com with these critical links asap it's a good idea and is necessary.

Sorry but I disagree there. You don't look at it at a glance you have to scroll through a very badly designed forum. Sorry, but there isn't an excuse for a badly designed forum. You should at least implement my points of a) getting a better theme and b) implementing proper forum functions. Right now the forums' function can pretty much be done with the exact same precision on the Bitcointalk thread because it's just a few posts here and there on random topics with no real discussion.

Style means everything in some cases. If you log onto the TS server you'll see what I mean by this and how it can make a VERY good impression.

Sure I'll take your feedback on board and if the community agrees we can reorganize the forum it's not a problem. With everything I am coordinating improving the forum aesthetically is not a priority right now but it is a long term goal.

Depends on the game. You want to attract people who love the game and seek lots of time into it rather than people who come just to farm HYPER. And seriously, you should check out the TS3 server, it's been pimped.

MSG to all Game Server Owners: Please get on TS and speak to me so I can assign you ranks in your game channels.

@HYPERfuture: Would you be interested in a GMod server being set up to implement HYPER? If so PM me.

First off my opinion on the forum, I personally agree with the statement that DiamondCardz has made. I'm a fan of simplicity, we are a coin of the future and when I think future I think clean, simple, and straight lines, just like a modern house. I also think that a theme would be awesome for the forum, something that will coordinate well with whichever website will be our goto, whether it is hyper.cash or hypercrypto.com. A common theme will show how connected we are, throughout the forums wiki website and this thread. You said a large portion of the problem is "project management time and resources," my suggestion is why not offer a bounty for a theme design contest where people, like DiamondCardz, can show off their talents and then open it up to the community with a strawpoll or something of the sort where we can vote on which design we feel best encompasses HYPER. On the other hand it sounds like the website is under control and I can't wait to see whats in store. And before I forget I feel like the entrance fee for the HYPER tournaments is a good idea, as most tournaments are built around this idea in my experience.

EDIT: Oh and before I forget something I have always wanted to see in coins but never really saw is a price ticker, before I came to HYPER I was following Vertcoin (not veri). And something so simple as their Reddit's price ticker, as you can see here in the top right corner of reddit.com/r/vertcoin, was amazingly convenient and nice to have no matter how low it showed the coin going Sad. But forget that, would there be anyway to get a ticker implemented on our websites, like the forums, hypercrypto.com, the reddit, the coming HYPER GG, or the wiki? Its something I think a lot of people, I for one being among them, would find helpful and convenient, rather than needing to go to a website where its listed and then find it.

I loved reading the last couple of posts. Wink I'm really glad that I'm part of the HYPER community!! I am also the developer of the HYPER Gaming Gateway. Feel free to check out the thread to see regular updates. A new screenshot has been posted (http://hypercrypto.com/forum/index.php?topic=235.0)! A live preview page should be available for everyone to play with in the next couple of days! I plan to implement a gaming ladder system and provide an easy and simple way to run tournaments using HYPER on HYPERGG. It's all a work in progress... Lots of changes coming.

@HYPERfuture:
I think it makes sense to have one overall game servers section and then each board would be a game. And within each board, there are topics specific for each game. Something like "Game Servers" -> {"Terraria", "CS:GO", "Minecraft", ...} -> [{"Terraria thread 1", "thread 2", "thread 3", ...}, {"CS:GO thread 1", ...}, etc. ] if that makes sense. haha.

Precisely. @HYPERfuture: Please look at how the forum is right now and think about how it should really look. It looks amateur and uncool. Please do not settle for a crappy job when it could be 10x better. I will keep going on and on about this until it is absolutely perfect.

@HYPERfuture:
] if that makes sense. haha.

Great work on the HYPERGG I'm really excited to see it go live Wink

Well sounds like the community has spoken! Yes that is what I had in mind in regards to condensing the HYPER gaming server sections into one category Wink I will go ahead and make the changes over the next day or two.

Can anyone here recommend another SMF theme that is more modern?

Also I am just waiting on psybits to release some of the funds in escrow before I can pay out the bounties owing to some of you but it is coming ASAP!

Also Dave Seaman and the HYPER Federation have been working on a partnership between HYPER and a big exchange. More details coming soon ..

Big PR campaign is also starting later this week.

Thank you everyone for your help and support of HYPER Wink

Please feel free to let me know a SMF theme I should install on the forum.

Bounties are limited but yes maybe I can contract out some more web dev work on the hypercrypto.com site as things have slowed down a bit with the development of that site. I may well focus on offering a bounty for the best site design concept soon.

Price ticker is a great idea do you know anyone who might want to code one up? Wink

Also feel free to suggest a more modern theme for the SMF forum at hypercrypto.com/forum

Considering most exchanges have API's, it should be fairly simple to code up a ticker. But, there's already one available here as a widget: https://www.coingecko.com/en/widgets/ticker/hyper/btc. hehe.  All you would need to do is include that code to a web page.

I knew I saw one somewhere on coin gecko after I saw they added us on the reddit. I couldn't find it though for the life of me Tongue!

I have way, way, way too many research kits on the RUST server xD Mutated animals drop 'em like candy once you get some good weapons. (Researching full leather armor there)

Also, pics of the TS3 server. This is what I mean by style:

You prefer that or the old TS3 server design? Wink
