Hey Crypto and all,
There were quite a few questions on the IRC channel today so I can post the main points:
- XC mixer functions can be supported since the app uses SSL encrypted JSON-RPC. Users can set up their own certs easily for extra trust. The app is easy to install <- I have verified this myself
- Video is coming tonight
- Demo accounts will be set up shortly (tonight or tomorrow) for people wanting to try the app interactively
- SMS app will coming over the next few days and be included!
- We can negotiate the 30k. The dev is really interested in helping XC differentiate since it's in a lull before Rev2, he likes the community and he thinks the XC dev (ATCsecure) is doing a great job.
- Yes, it's real and ready NOW. It was posted on Google Play earlier today for further testing...

I mean, this sounds like a great app, but it is not worth 30k XC, not even close, IMO. 30k XC is near 40 btc at current prices and current prices are near an ATL. Agreed... especially if he's really interested in XC. Why is he threatening to release it for another coin...? |

Keep in mind, this app is usable RIGHT NOW. Thankfully Apple changed their stance on crypto recently. He's put of fair bit of time into the dev work and is focussed on releasing new mobile features. He'll be working on the SMS app tonight, but targeting the weekend to have it out.

Spoken a bit in IRC. First things, first. Doesn't anyone get involved and actually contribute any more? It seems to me that everyone is just after a 'bounty' and this is may be even a little bit worse, approaching the Dev directly for something that is already on the roadmap. So.. a 'mobile-app' does not equal a replacement for a 'mobile-wallet'. What is being proposed is a simple JSON-RPC interface and I assume the bounty is to 'tweak' it so that the custom XC (mixer) commands work. Let's be honest, that is not a whole load of work, not even worth a days wages working for a company that would require something like this of you. Without a 'web-wallet' with an API, this JSON-RPC 'mobile-app' would need to be configured to point towards your local (PC) wallet, so x11coin-qt or x11coind - That would need to be online and accessible over the Internet. Truth be told, I would have to urge everyone to steer clear of this if it is to be a bounty request. It would not benefit a majority of XC users. That being said, lnash - If your colleague at work is really interested, ask him to drop by and offer some Demos. XC users that may require this functionality may be prepared to offer something on a per case basis. |

There was definitely no threat from him  He just made the product and I asked him if he would be open to working with XC! Now it's customized and ready to go. Getmining, you have good points. Ideally, most things in life would be free. However, he has a good, working product and believe it's worth chipping in for. I'm not sure what to say here - did you every spend money on a video card for mining (or rented a rig)? The opportunity is here and something like this that is already built and of value doesn't exist every day, don't you agree? If people aren't interested, so be it, you know my position - trying to help the community and the value of the currency.

Speaking of which, if anyone is wondering my intentions and history - I made money from the DRK rise and have been following XC for a long time now. Like most, I also have XC investments and would love to see it's value where it should be. ATC/ Dan is a professional and will take XC further, I believe, than others out there. He has continuously delivered and set expectations accordingly. Several competing coins (was it Vert today, Sum2, Pink, Voot?) have been announcing different anon solutions. As in investor, like others on the forum, I'd like to do as much as possible to keep the value up. ATC has his hands full working on the anon and REV2. To me, a mobile app is an opportunity and quick win.

Ballz: This is not an "official" app, although it may be some day.
An official app hasn't been created and there may be a wait for that.
This is a mobile application that allows you to send and receive XC and interface with XC functions.
Nothing to my knowledge right now has the ability to do that for the iPhone and Android.
Am I missing something?

Yes, to track the progress of 30,000 XC into your wallet. Where I come from, we call that a scam. And not a very good one either. |

That said, I'm starting to question why we'd go to the effort when comments like this are being made.

i think it's best to pm the dev with your idea, i also think it would be best for the dev to hold the bounty address until it is reached, if you are sincere thank you for your help, there are a lot of scammers on this forum and in the crytpo world i'm sure you understand peoples cation, i think your idea is great, but it has to be discussed with the dev. |
