Hey guys......setting up Xnode and have a question.  Dev's guide says to wait for 25 confirmations after sending to new wallet address named MIXER.  It appears to me that it is only going to go to 6 confirmations so I thought I would ask.........do I still need to wait for 25 as instructed or can I shut down and do my config file to start the xnode after 6?

You need to wait for 25 confirmations

v1.40 will be released shortly to address a bug in the code w/ the 25 confirmations check.

Pretty sure I got it working, went past 6 confirmations after about 20 minutes and then hit over 25 really quick from there.  I assume I will know soon enough if it is working correctly for me.  I take it I also need to leave the dos window open, or can I close that after it loads the wallet fully?

you can minimize the dos window or close it (as long as wallet stays open when you do)

Thanks again bud!  Will update to new wallet now as well.  Is there a way to check if XNode is functioning or just wait to see if it processes transactions?

Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

v1.40 is available on the website

http://xc-official.com/release/wallets/

Why not to create a updater tool for wallet? User just need a updater to keep update.
You can't imagine user would always check the xc website for updates after mass adoption.
IT IS SIMPLE BUT IMPORTANT. PLEASE DO IT FOR US.

The wallet could use a update with a few more feauture.
1. Auto update, or atleast a check and a link to a site where users can find the update.
2. In debug sendBymixer? why not a easy checkbox in the send dialog?
3. Status display for xnodes.
And a few more.
But i'm afraid the Dev is a genius in coding, and forget that regular users should use it, not a uncommon behaviour for extremely good coders.

Time will tell.

I'm sure making all these advancements more user friendly to the masses is in the plans.  It's funny how people sign up to BETA test and expect perfection or ease of use/understanding.  Isn't that the purpose of beta testing stage.....to get the technology out to those that can play with it in its infancy?

Some people seem to be getting mad or frustrated that things are not perfect or as easily understood as they can be, when this dev seems to be making history with this coin.  I have MUCH confidence in this coin's future and the dev in making useful to all.

Gee its beta for crying out loud dude. What is the point of having all those great things you listed if the base itself does not work? Would you rather have a shooty base with stuff built around it or a good base to start and then add to it as time goes on?

I am sure that ATCsecure would add the simple checkbox at the right time when the wallet is ready for masses after the proper testing of anonymous/private transactions. Adding the checkbox would be the cherry on the top that would take XC to the... Wink
The right timing is the most important and I fully trust XC team that they are aware of that.

Relax men.
Its up to the devs what they do with it or don't do anything at all with it.
Feautures are nice, but are mostly used by regular users, they don't like to type, they want a checkbox, or something they can click on.
They also want some feedback what is happening, is my xnode running, when is staking happening, is my wallet locked or not, and so on.
Devs are developing in a RUNNING and used realtime environment(it can't called beta in any way!!), that brings some extra things to concern.

Trying to setup an xnode but I'm an idiot.

- Created a copy of my wallet called mixer, not sure if that's right. No clue how to setup a different wallet

- Deposited 550xc to an address titled mixer

- Have no idea how to get to x11coin.conf? Any help?

When can we expect binary Linux wallets to be released. Shouldn't be hard to release just compiled binaries, no need for .deb packages or similar.

Create a text file, and rename it as x11coin.conf, then open it with text application software, copy the related information to the file, save and close it.

What is the next important news to be released?

this may give you an idea. the time frame i remember hearing for all this to be up and running is 7 months. but don't quote me on that, it needs to be done right and as you can see from the following XC is going to have a lot of features. im sure you have noticed how quickly a lot of things have been done already, with upgrades almost daily, the 7 months i remember being mentioned seams about right, who knows..could be done faster..but most important is it's done right.

From the XC forums under 'Announcements'.

Future Plans:

• Finalize Business Plan.
• Identify key market potential opportunities.
• Market analysis for high growth opportunities.
• XC Foundation
• Structured Corporate Entity.
• Android Wallet
• Release REV2
• REV2 is a major upgrade to the system, using the existing REV1 code. It will support a decentralized, learning trust system and be not only be anonymous, but have protection against various attack vectors.
• Following REV2 release, wallet improvements, working today's the 'Retail Market Space' and Point of Sales and ATM's. A cost separate analysis will be done on this.
• Wallet Updates to include: Encrypted instant messaging, encrypted IRC style communications.
• Wallet updates to support new applications. (Will update further on this.)
• Completing the Android wallet with the mobile solution mentioned above.

• That is the current high level plan, I will create a more formal way to present this and to keep it updated so that is available 24/7.

When can we expect binary Linux wallets to be released. Shouldn't be hard to release just compiled binaries, no need for .deb packages or similar.

so this should come soon :

v1.39 is now available for download - includes updated DNS seeding and disabled IRC (via -irc) startup option.

- Provides ability to sync without adding nodes to X11Coin.conf

- If your running XNODE v1.37 or lower, please update to v1.39

- v1.38 users don't need to update

how much are you holding, remember staking is 3.33% per year and can take up to 30 days to receive, so as long as you don't move your coins around, within 30 days you will see some payments, but the size and frequency will depend on how much you hold, as i said it's only 3.33% of your holding annually. hope this helps.
