They use an improved and untraceable version of XCurrency’s anon mixer. The XCurrency anon mixer uses nodes to transfer money , but still leaves a trail." SOMEONE SHOULD CONTACT GUY IN cryptoarticles.com !

And this is why we need a whitepaper explaining XC's method. Because people misrepresent XC's tech all day long. Really, how is there no whitepaper yet?

Wow that took a whole two days! I told synechist that is a stupid move but nobody is paying attention to my words Meh, its the previous version. Now open sourcing the current version (which still is not getting as much praise and attention as it should) would be stupid IMO.

I don't think we should have open sourced anything until our current tech's method (REV 2+) was properly documented via whitepaper...
Seriously, this just makes the waters muddier. What we need is clarity amongst the wide variety of anon solutions. Until XC provides clear documentation of method, the waters get muddier day by day.

If people fall for that.. God blesh them
You know they will. Looking at their ANN I can tell you exactly how this is going to go as I've seen this exact pattern several times. The price will get a nice bump over the next 4 days or so and within two weeks it will be dead with nothing but bag holders wondering how they fell for it while everyone else has moved onto the next P&D.

Just think about this for a moment: - some dumb coin copies XC's old tech and gets an article published about it - we kindly inform the coin's followers that their dev is several steps behind XC and has implemented last-gen technology - people rationally head on over to the exchanges and buy XC instead. It's too easy.

It would be 100x easier if we had a whitepaper to point them to. What do we point them to now? Our word?

I, for one, like the fact that old revisions are released as the path moves forward. Sure, it isn't what is currently being used, but it allows XC to be one-step ahead of all the other clones out there that will attempt to adopt old code. I agree that a whitepaper should be a major priority when 2.5 gets finished, but I'd also say that functionality-wise, 2.5 has to be able to easily do anon-transfers with no issues (some of you probably seen me posting pages back about not being able to private send over a dozen transactions).

It would be 100x easier if we had a whitepaper to point them to. I couldn't agree more. A white paper is on the Rev 3 to-do list. Not until REV3? There should be whitepapers for each major revision. REV2 --> and then REV3 to explain how it ADDS to the privacy that REV2 offered. New "anon" coins are added weekly to the markets. People cannot tell one solution from the other anymore. This is the last I'll post about it, but as far as I'm concerned, Dan needs to stop whatever coding is he is doing, and spend however long it takes to publish a well documented whitepaper explaining XC's current tech.
