Jep it is. But don't forget that the amount of available Fimk is currently 333 million, not 1 billion and during the IPO more than 500 btc have been gathered, so investors won't sell low to have ROI.

Is forging a block heavily dependent on FIM balance or have there been changes to the Nxt algo because of the POS Reward?
While the algorithm changed slightly in some places, the outcome is still the same.
The more FIM you have the more blocks you make.
Is forging also dependent on the number of clients you have open? Meaning, if you are logged in with one FIMK account but with multiple browser windows open will this enhance your chance for forging a block?

That would be nice  Cheesy
But no sorry that's not how it works.

 Grin

Btw, why is it that I see my dashboard with a "200" forged balance and after the next block the balance is reset to zero?

how long does it take for my balance to become effective to forge after sending to a new secure account (sent from dgex distribution account)
Stakeholders must make an outgoing transaction before block 2880 or they'll
have to wait 1440 blocks before they can forge. Non-stakeholder accounts must
always wait 1440 blocks after their first outgoing transaction
before they can forge.

Generally (after block 2880), upon receiving funds how long does a genesis account need to wait before those funds are effective balance used for forging?  How long goes a non-genesis account need to wait, generally (after block 2880)?

I just wanted to chime in and say that I was able to download, install and run the client on the first try with no problems. Nice interface too. I'm not a coder or programmer and tend to not understand the technical details behind cryptos. As such I had so much trouble with handling the NXT client when it first came out and for the first several months. So the fact that I had no problems getting set up on this brand new crypto says a lot. I'm very impressed. Great job Smiley

Your block is overruled by another block from another forger with a higher difficulty.
There is nothing you can do about that. In very unfortunate situations (depending on your point of view) you could forge many blocks before your client realizes another chain of blocks has a higher difficulty and it will cause all blocks to disappear, thats called being on a fork.

Generally (after block 2880), upon receiving funds how long does a genesis account need to wait before those funds are effective balance used for forging?  How long goes a non-genesis account need to wait, generally (after block 2880)?

The stakeholder advantage will stop after block 2880, you really should make a transaction before that. Or wait 1440 after that block.

Thank you, this means a lot! Thanks to NXT's Wesley for the base of the better web client - which we might however remake extensively in the future as well as deploy a standalone executable client.

Distributing the early block rewards received by the organization's accounts will have to wait somewhat for a less hectic time period. There will be time for that but not now - I just got off phone interview with two major Finnish financial news publishers Wink

Not quite.  A huge fundamental NXT problem is solved by FIM -- NXT has no block reward, but FIM does!!!  This makes a gigantic difference to how things play out and keeps the community highly incentivised.

Overall FIM improves the following.

  • Adds block reward incentive for forging
  • 30 sec block time - makes decentralised asset exchange much faster
  • 0.1 min TX fee - encourages spending with lower TX fees

FIM is a contender and is here to stay.

Great idea.  A QT-based wallet would be very good.

It will be interesting to watch how the price develops. With only 333 million available and the reward system giving out coin for forging, there is actually an incentive to buy in early. The forging return is quite nice. Someone should make some calculations.

I totally recognize the foundational nature of NXT and appreciate that it's paved the way for FIM and other spin offs, so wasn't intending to slam NXT. But I am very happy that FIM is working well from the beginning, even for us nontechnical people Smiley

Congratulations on the media attention Smiley

How to log on the wallet? what's the URL?
https://wallet.fimk.fi:7886

There is an annoying technical requirement to make an outgoing transaction somewhere before you can forge (do that before block 1440). FIMKrypto organization account is FIM-M3YE-7Q2G-JEZS-HPHK4.

Can you register an alias as you can with NXT?
