It's up quite a bit both against fiat and Bitcoin lately. Over the past day it was the only alt I owned that wasn't in a state of collapse but was actually still moving up. Trading volumes have been picking up in a big way as well on NovaExchange and Cryptopia. With all the new folks I'm sure a lot have kids who are interested in crypto, or they just want some themselves to play around with.

Hey guys!

I seem to have found 60k pig in an old wallet.

Not sure if this is the old old piggy but?

Any chance of a swap over? I am actually the guy who built the website for piggycoin, let me know if there is a possibility of getting that 50k piggy swapped or something?

Can send screenshoots Smiley

Thanks!

No chance sorry.  The swap went on for over a year and has been over for over a year!  We shouldn't be giving more coins away like that as it's hard for anyone else to verify the old chain.

The majority of coins are being delisted from PoSWallet, both the exchange and the staking wallet.  PiggyCoin is being delisted on 6th June.  Please withdraw your coins from there immediately!

I also wasn't paying attention to that. I had a lot of piggycoin I bought early on. Addresses created before what date are invalid?

As a general rule, people should not buy coins that do swaps like that, and if I had been aware of it I would have dumped all I own. Very annoying.

What was the cutoff date for valid addresses?

Please bear in mind that this was the original piggydev's doing and he's long gone: https://twitter.com/piggydeveloper/status/866721934817599488

Coin swaps... They have that kind of problem yes, but they do allow the coin to easily get a new codebase.  In this case the coin swap was from proof of work to proof of stake with a lower supply.  There were a different number (supply) of the PoW PIG so don't assume that you'd have the same amount of PIGGY.  I see the ANN OP says: "(265,353M were mined in the old chain)", whereas the supply of New PiggyCoin [PIGGY] is just under 500 million.

The cutoff I'm not sure about; you would have to go looking through this thread and the old one (There is a link to the PIG thread in the OP).  There was a site called CoinKing where folks had to send their PIG to get them swapped for PIGGY.  I notice piggydev posted on 15th June 2014 about people messaging him worried about being late in the swap process: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=633803.msg7326267#msg7326267.  Eventually we new PiggyTeam ended the swap process, apparently on 12th July 2015.

Addresses beginning with a 'p' belong to the New PiggyCoin chain.  Addresses beginning with a '6' would be of the old defunct PoW PIG and would be useless now.

Can you upload a bootstrap file sometime for those of us who have had wallets offline for a while?
I've had my piggy wallet offline for a few months and its not syncing for some reason, only have 1 connection despite using the addnodes from chainz block explorer to my conf file.

If you don't have one available, could you make one?
Copy your blk001.dat and txleveldb folder and upload to somewhere for me pretty please? (If you can, make sure to close your wallet-qt before copying otherwise the wallet will error when importing)

Thanks

There's a bootstrap in the OP (the first post in this thread).  It's updated daily ;8]

I probably have some of each, but certainly have some of the useable ones, since I bought on Poloniex. This coin is a great idea, it caters to a very large group of people and offers some help to an important market in learning about crypto. It sucks having to constantly watch a thread and wonder if the dev is going to do a sudden swap or some other silliness to eliminate people who are not day to day watchers. I have a little of the coin, hope it does well, and think you should disavow any future swaps or other trickery.

Fix your announcement (bitcointalk) link on coinmarketcap & relink the Piggycoin Twitter please.

A lot of people probably interested in piggy, but have no idea it exists or cant find out more easily enough so give up.

Lots of good features / points about piggycoin such as easysend, people just need to learn about them....

Regarding my previous post about piggies stuck in an old wallet, I thought my contribution to the piggy community might have allowed you to help me out =[

I actually made the piggycoin website & artwork & then handed it over to the old piggycoin dev to manage the content.

There's a good chance those coins might even be some of the payment i received for making the website.... in piggy, not BTC....

Make me a happy piggy please Smiley

If you need work, why don't you figure out some bountyable project, like starting something with the coin, then see if somebody or people will cough up a bounty if it is a good project.

I don't need work, i earn a good wage & am a frequent trader. I just want what i "earnt" to be honoured.

I understand that it's my responsibility to watch these websites for news like that, however, if the admins just found his ORIGINAL website developer, why not counter offer, "If you can update a few things, ill give you your reward"....

I know that's what i would be doing.

Also, still no bitcoin talk thread on coinmarketcap or twitter linked to coinmarketcap.

These are FREE tools, made to ASSIST you in PROMOTING YOUR COIN, why wouldn't you take advantage of this & contact coinmarketcap to make it happen? How is ANYONE meant to find out about you, if they cant see your active....

Anybody can update coinmarketcap, but it does seem odd that it has not been updated.

Coinmarketcap is somewhat known for facilitating agendas with regard to coins. Ethereum and its lack of 'premine' asterisk on coinmarketcap has generated several lengthy discussions since that coin came out. Another strange example is China coin, chncoin. Coinmarketcap has received updated information on that coin several times, but declines to update the listing for that coin with accurate info. It looks as if coinmarketcap may be  taking money, either from traders or by trading, for some of the info they include or omit. Whether that applies to piggycoin I couldn't guess.

How long should the wallet take to sync?  It might be ok for me to just wait, it's been going on for about a day and a half now.  Is there a progress bar on the wallet?  I couldn't find one.   It's a great wallet otherwise.

Community spirit could be up a notch for this coin, lol.   I only say that because I'm not feeling like posting here will get a quick answer like so many other coins' threads.  Was also posting in the thread and didn't see anyone else posting there except using the .faucet command.

I did put the bootstrap in like the Annoucement thread stated but now the wallet doesn't get displayed.   Is there something you're leaving out,
like deleting the previous blockchain file?

Active communities raise coin prices.
