It was "new" in 2015, as distinguished from the original Piggycoin blockchain that dated before May/June 2015, IIRC. Perhaps at some point we should just drop the "new"?

For those who didn't see it, NovaExchange just put out an email that they are shutting down services over the next few months as part of a transition to new ownership in 2Q 2018. So you will want to be pulling your Piggycoin out before NovaExchange goes down, to Cryptopia for trading or wherever else you want to stow your Piggies.

If I use conf file would it be faster for sync? I'm syncing without conf file. What should be the name of the conf file. piggycoin.conf or newpiggycoin.conf?

I received 100K piggy in my ethereum wallet. Etherscan and ETHexplorer say it is an ERC-20 coin. The problem is that all the exchanges like cryptopedia and coinexchange don't show a 0x eth addres to deposit to. Is it a different coin or is it still possible to trade it?

That is a different "token", not coin, on the ether chain. This the "official piggy coin" has its own chain wallet, etc.

this is not the same as the initial piggy coins because c0in piggy can not be deposited on the exchange exchanges

Our coin is called New PiggyCoin, or just PiggyCoin.  You are in its thread now.  If you look at the first page, you will see it was created in 2014.

(There was an older, proof-of-work PiggyCoin [PIG] which had a coin swap to New PiggyCoin [PIGGY].)

You are on the wrong thread. This is for Piggycoin. The airdrop is for Piggies, for that petting zoo fundraiser thing. If you scroll up you should find a link to it.
