But is it even possible to unlock a thread once it is locked?
No, it's not possible. I think is possible to unlock the threads because i have seen locked threads that have been unlocked. The thing is only the person who started the thread can unlock the thread in this case UP could do this.

There should be an unlock button on the bottom left of a locked thread indeed.

Ok great. let wait for UP unlock the original thread. I strongly support sticking to the original 1000 tokens plan. Investors and stakeholders have made predictions according to maximum 1000 tokens and should that be suddenly cut down to maximum 500 it would drastically change the situation and likely annoy a great number of people. There is serious money at stake here, both new and old stakeholders'.
everything else would betrayal of utopianfuture core ideas. we dont want nem decay. NEM FOR THE WIN!

I am new to NEM. I've just bought a couple of stakes. I found NEM pretty interesting for too many reasons. I am happy to join you guys.
I have an old Bitcointalk.org account "2011" that I've lost access to 6 months ago. I still can't find a way to get my old account back. I would be grateful if someone knows a way to return back a lost account to inform me in a private message.
For the last 6 months I didn't need to connect to bitcointalk.org as nothing was that interesting to me the same way it use to be 2 years ago. NEM is the most interesting project/movement I've ever known. In fact I find NEM more interesting than Bitcoin itself. For that I've created a new account "NEMergizer" just to join you guys. Just in case you happen to know me under my old account, my old lost account is "Energizer".

Glad to see another new stakeholder, it seems more and more are showing up everyday, making the distribution even more widespread and awesome, inspiring stuff! As far as recovering your account, I would try to get in contact with a moderator. I personally have noticed that recovering account via email has been broken for awhile (for me atleast) maybe you are having the same issue?

Actually it would make my life easier. Right now i get a load of requests for tokens. So if we would stop at 500 it would save me a load of work. I'm however also against it. We said 1000 and unless something unexpected happens we'll stick with that.
I do feel your pain with all the work especially with the new arrangement of duties after utopian drama, however I don't feel the extra work is big enough reason to quit distributing tokens. Maybe you could share that duty with some of the core team members? I agree. I think it's massively important that we don't deviate from the original plan. Any unnecessary changes is going to backlash i feel. If this means things take more time, then this is how it should be.
