Yes they will release a new client at launch which you have to download and enter your private key etc. you received during redemption process. After logging in you should see your XEM in your account.

With this in mind i'd like to spread some awareness:

This would be the prime time scammers and dishonest people would likely start flooding nem threads with bogus links to the "client" in order to steal your private wallet details.

Remember to double check the authenticity of any links before you commit to clicking them. Avoid clicking links from quotes and suchlike as quotes are so easily altered.

Important News - NEM is launching!

The waiting period is finally over. The Nemesis block is now complete, Main Net testing is running as planned and everything else appears to be prepared for launch. Thus, we are very happy to announce the official launch date for NEM: 31 March 2015 - at 19:00 UTC.

Important Note: Despite best intentions the above mentioned launch date is a tentative one and we reserve the right to change it if any critical issue would arise in the meantime that could endanger the NEM network.

This is precisely my point (post above yours). Misinformation is easily spread through quotes on forums and this is exactly how malicious keyloggers and such would get spread. People need to be mindful of this.

You should probably add a warning statement in the official launch announcement. Just as a precaution.

yeah its still under construction though afaik.. final touches being made so we didnt advertise it yet. we sort of had to put it in the video though before releasing.

I cannot run a wallet with the standalone version.

Will there be another wallet at launch?

I always get the message that I must "boot a local node" but I cannot find a way to do it after many hours spent on my computer. I went on the firewall parameters and authorize port 7890 but nothing works.

Anyone with installing issues?

did you actually go into the wallet? it should auto boot once you (create, if you havnt already done so and ) open a wallet.

Sometimes the blockchain needs to sync or load before the local node is booted.
