Serious question, does UtopianFuture not have anything to do with NEM now, and no contact with the dev team, even social? It doesn't make a lot of difference to NEM as a piece of tech, but I have read other senior NEMsters saying UP is completely gone, and I find that hard to believe. I think it is highly unlikely that UP just walked away and has never had contact with the inner team of NEM anymore. I just don't buy that, so when I saw some senior Nem people doing just that, I thought "Oh fuck, that dude is probably lying, why, what else does he lie about". Like when a guy swears blind that he doesn't masturbate ... you know chances are he's a liar now, and you question his honesty over a trivial thing. Don't get me wrong here, if you ask a guy if he wanks, he might lie because it's none of your business, but what about when a guy offers that info without being pushed coz he thinks it makes him look more virtuous ... that dude looks like a liar in my books.
Thing is with NEM, UP being still involved is the communities business, so it is ok to ask.
Come on, senior NEM people are still in contact with UP every day, and who believes UP would have just walked away and left his baby. He's pulling the strings still. To say otherwise is like saying you don't wank, it just doesn't sound truthful to other regular guys, so whoever says it looks like a liar (and a wanker!).

If he really is gone then I'm honestly sad for UP. I don't think he deserved to lose everything for a relatively minor error of judgement. I think the people he was working with for all those months would probably think the same, so to hear that nobody knows how he's doing now, or if he's psychologically OK is pretty terrible. That's why I don't believe dudes in the NEM inner sanctum aren't still in contact with UP. But hey, maybe I'm wrong. UP just dropped everything and left, and all the other NEM dev & support team just went on as if he never existed. My best guess is UP was truly freaked out at being busted for running an illegal IPO after Erik Voorhees got fined, and he was scared for his career as an economics academic, so he conjured up the bogus 'scandal' so he could 'disappear' like satoshi and BCNext. That makes much more sense to me. The only real weakness IMO is a bit too much central control, but that can change over time. If the POI holds together and works as hoped then NEM is a possible future top 10 coin. Having UP in the background is a good outcome for stakeholders, plus the drama is good, can't deny that. Crypto junkies love drama. |

I think that Utopian Future still with us only already under other nickname and doesn't treat developers. Now he is the same full member of community nemsters as well as all of us being here. I am sure, this guy couldn't leave and give up just like that really great the movement NEM! So doesn't happen to put so many forces and energy in the project at the initial stages, and then to take and throw. Isn't present and once again not! He here among us and on a step didn't leave the NEM project. Yes, he stole stakes! Yes, he is a thief! He confessed. But he didn't throw NEM. I for all 100% am confident in it. Because such it is impossible to throw. Look at other coins? Circle of POW and POS. Million army of copies and clones with POW and POS! And NEM another. This the new and unique, having POI. NEM it's POI. One other coin has no POI. Everywhere POW and POS. And such millions of coins of copies and clones! Utopian Future couldn't leave. It here among us it will also be always reserved under other nickname among us here. He could. The official history of NEM starts from the moment when UF decided to create a clone of Nxt. Only few people (those who were in contact with him via PMs, including me) know what was before the idea of cloning Nxt. |

What is the story about UF and Quark? Is it true? Yes, made a few hundred percent off Quark end of 2013. I like the sound of NEM going forward.
NEM?? Announced by "utopianfuture"?? As the new NEXT coin?? Do you remember there was one person who posted lots of FUD about NXT? Do you remember who that was about 9 months ago? Maybe you have a closer look to the posts of "utopianfuture"... One hint..."utopianfuture" was also very "famous" within the Quark community I would recommend to stay far far away from NEM if you don't want to be fooled. |

Seems like some people here are striving hard to highjack the discussion and ignite some dramatic conspiracies. As was said several times, to our best knowledge UP has left the project and NEM has gone a long way since that moment. Through good and bad, after so much work, we are here now and are very close to beginning a critical new chapter of this project. This is why we're here, lets not forget that.
