Now it's just stuck...renamed my node name for my auto-boot settings and now it says;
"Booting NIS... (at block 288965)"

Okay I give up, I just manually boot locally, also the DB blocks having to load all over again every time I start my wallet is frustrating, I just have to accept that this wallet is a pain in the ass in some regards...   |

Please understand, that you are running a full node, not just a client. Starting a full node takes some time (load the complete database, synchronize...), but with NEM you are not forced to do that, but can still be 100% safe. Please read our tutorials, we have really written a lot of helpful stuff: http://blog.nem.io/nem-quick-start-guide/EDIT: To be able to run just NCC, I think you dont have to download the standalone version if you already installed the installer version. Regarding your problem with auto-boot etc: I think there is some problem with the installer version setting the right state (db fully loaded, booted, synced), but I am not sure, I dont use the installer version. |

Thanks, I feel like crushing some bones, but I appreciate your help Also, this project is still in the early stages so I expect things to get better in time Yeah and I would like to add a) People who run a full node usually know what they are doing, and then they usually run the full node on a Linux system which means no installer anyways^^ b) NEM is not exactly focusing on the end-user till now. We are building a hightech blockchain platform and I personally don't expect end-users to understand the potential. I hope this doesn't sound arrogant, what I mean is: The general potential of the tech is nothing end-users really need. They need well done graphical user interfaces, developed in an extremely userfriendly way and maybe even for use cases where they don't even expect NEM as the backbone. But yeah, we are planing to improve the NCC (NEM Community Client) interface for sure. Right now the devs don't have a lot of time though, because they are focusing on things with higher priority (mijin cooperation, node rewards, to just tell 2 examples). |

We just need to fill out the tech more built on top of it. The core of NEM allows for trustless webwallets, usb drive wallets, mobile wallets, quick start desktop apps, special ultra-secure off the internet hardware wallets and more, all of which will be one-click and start. The underlying tech that these things will be built on is way better than regular 1.0 "coin" platforms. And the great thing is that all of these wallets and apps from numerous third party developers can interact with each other pretty seemlessly across Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, and Linux. If we had more coders and builders, those things could actually happen fast. NEM devs wanted to make a blockchain that just worked, and while a pretty amazing base is being built, the finished product and nice end user experience actually hasn't been built yet. But in time..... :-) |

How exactly is XEM supposed to have value?
Is it just a "fee coin" that you need to perform transactions on the NEM platform?
Is it going to be a store of value like silver or gold?
Is it going to be a currency you can use to buy precious metals or consumer goods?
Is XEM going to be all of the above? To me it's not quite clear, please enlighten me...
