Hey all,
Thought I'd drop by here and let you all know what's going on between myself and NEM right now...

I flew out to California to talk to Jeff about getting my coins from the initial distribution, but he was less than helpful. Since then, I've successfully gotten myself banned from the NEM and Cryptocurrency subreddits because of this issue. I guess I just don't know when to stop.

Some people will roll over and go away when you cheat them. I'm done with that. I will not stand for corruption. The NEM foundation has dug it's own grave with this, and they'll learn some basic ethics or will go down in flames.

So what's Your story in short? have You been treated as sockpuppet (i suppose You will say in this case falsely?), or were you too lazy to reedem Your stake in time? I ask just of curiosity.

I've talked to a big crypto investor in china and they said, the stolen nem will be coming to exchanges soon and the price will drop much more!

Sell NEM before it tanks

Go on. Let's all enjoy these posts when the price is falling, and its reverse when it is rising. People have no patience these days Wink

I did not get the bitcointalk messages until after the devs had already decided to keep the unclaimed coins.

Why was I not checking bitcoin talk daily?
I was involved with a business that I was trying to save... I lost $100k and it went belly up anyway.
I also started a non-profit, designed a fusion reactor, sued the City I live in, and sold a patent to a company that raised $10M on it.

Personally I am sorry you didn't make to claim your stake. But from a business perspective it's unfortunately your fault for not taking care of claiming it, regardless how busy you were.

NEM technology itself has not been compromised, this is purely an exchange's fault which amounts to a drawn out decrease in price until either it is forgotten about by the general public or the price itself is deemed oversold. I do think we will return to a dollar or two on the next upcoming bitcoin rise, as the NEM foundation has been diligently working to push out updates and their progress.

Why don't you sell Nem and ride the next bitcoin wave than buy NEM after?

I'm sorry for you. I'm not asking for your opinion or permission. I'm warning you about unethical people running an amateur hour shitshow. You're obviously heavily invested in NEM, and are going to be hurt in the crossfire when this team blows up under the light of close scrutiny.

95% of crypto is an unethical shit show, in relative terms NEM is pretty good, but obviously not perfect. I understand why you're pissed off, but I doubt NEM is going to blow up anytime soon, not from close scrutiny anyway. There's so many more dodgy crypto projects for people to go after, and NEM made decent attempts at every stage.

The only person involved who could possibly be under future threat of scrutiny is utopianfuture, and he decloaked a while ago, and is running a new project now, Tomo, and he doesn't look like he's exactly hiding from scrutiny, or worried.

Try and move on from this loss, who could have known what a NEM stake would be worth in Jan 2014.

So you got the message but didnt bother to check but its not your fault Huh I think the redemption process went on for 6 months + another 3.

I saw this article in the NemRed Telegram channel. It seems to do a good job explaining what exactly is going on with the Venezuelan Petro. It looks like a mess.

https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2018/02/venezuela-says-its-cryptocurrency-raised-735-million-but-its-a-farce/

Even it is very confusing to us when they conducted the ICO and even we don't see any news about it. Maybe media is spreading the negative news about Venezuela, even they didn't announce anything about their ICO.
Where are you watching such news?

I don't know why do you mean they didn't come to your account, they are definitely credited: http://explorer.ournem.com/#/s_account?account=NBQ73BYLVGMO7L2WFG2VVOJHOBWWJKW7D3V7UE4E
It must be a local problem, try to select another node maybe. The coins are on the wallet in the Blockchain, your private key is just the key to the wallet.

nem is officially in the shitter. I hope it can climb back out.. but as of now nem has retraced or given back almost 100% of the gains it made in dec/jan...
that is pathetic. Many of the others have suffered pretty big setbacks as well, but not 100% worth. I hope the bleeding stops soon. Nobody seems interested in the coin, volume is a pathetic $17 million.. not many are buying or selling and there is zero hype or interest it seems.

I wonder if nem blew its wad during that $2 runup and will take years to recover.. hopefully not because it will be forgotten if that is the case.

nem coin has almost 4 years. It's a pretty long time for a coin in cryptoworld. I think that we don't have to worry so much. We just wait until more and more app will start running on xem's blockchain and wait until the memory of the hack will be gone.

This guy is a psychotic fuckwit who should not be responded to in any way.

If i remember rightly he applied (too late) for a promotional stake and didn't bother promoting, let alone pay any attention to the redemption process not that he qualified for it anyway.

I've driven over squashed cats with a more valid claim.

I once owned 860000 XEM in 2016, when its name was called NEM, I take one bitcoin change, then I don't know why because profits but lost, maybe life really didn't have to.
It is to value return, three years later, goodbye.

Which exchange did You use (Cryptopia or Yobit or something else)? In NEM network transaction exists, but Your exchange probably is retarded or has suspended wallet (very often problem with Craptopia). You should write to the support of that exchange, they have Your XEMs for sure as explorer shows that clearly. And in the future try to avoid crappy exchanges.
