NEM's Reason D'etre

Superb post xtester. I agree wholeheartedly.

I agree too but I also agree with Patmast3r that we dont have enough funds to employ full time devs.

Yes, I notice that. He was not even an NS holder. He erased himself totally from both the BTT and NEM Forum. I believe he was some sock.

He did have a lot of posts though. I noticed someone on Nxt forum with the same pic next to nickname lately, thats what made me think of it, it wasnt because I missed the quality of his posts.

Everyone who waited for 10 month (orignal stake holders before AE) should get extra 0.02 NEMZ. Smiley
The rest put towards development. We need a killer mobile app.

How many stakeholders have registered so far?   Huh

377

Thats very low. Combined with Assets claimed, it makes for around only 1.1k claimed so far.

I think there should be a 3 way split - one part for development, one for marketing, airdrops and the last as bonus for all Smiley

Frankly I think all unclaimed tokens should be removed from circulation. Less NEM = more valuable NEM.

Effectively the same as awarding the NEM to us. I think its better if they are used mainly for development and marketing.

I would suggest to use the extra coins in any way to attract new users for NEM. For example a free NEM faucet in a website where ads in the website collects money for dev efforts. This way the faucet would keep going forever on ads + an ongoing extra income toward dev and marketing.

Distributing the extra unclaimed coins to current stake holders wouldn't do anything good to NEM. We have to use such coins in a creative manner that would add wealth to NEM community on the long run.

I'll be honest with you I really want to invest in this IPO.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=808648.0

But I have no funds apart from some Qora that is way too low to sell and my NEM stake. What are the chances I will be able to receive and sell my stake by the end of this month? When I mean sell I mean an exchange not OTC which I don't do.

Possible?

I think there are 1000 stakes for development isn´t it?  Why we need more?

I think there are only 2 ways for the unclaimed stakes.

1. Put huge bountys up for doing things and use therefore the unclaimed stakes.
2. Give it to the stakeholders. I mean this people didn´t dump them for a couple of months or they bought additional ones. I think that should be rewarded. Maybe you can choose to give them out after the launch, lets say 1 month (or 3 or 6 or whatever) only to the guys who still have their launched NEMs. That would put stability to NEM.

Agreed. They should be encrypted and held forever. Just seems like the right thing to do. It is owned by that person and no one should be able to decide what to do with their property and make up the rules as we go along... (Adding a deadline after the fact...)

And who knows if NEM really became massive then it would be great publicity some guy remembering he had a stake years later and becomes a millionaire.

The source of the issue might be some Chinese users who are unable to use Bitcointalk as it's been blocked in China. In fact it's very likely considering the numbers of a Chinese that use this forum.

Agreed

There is a know big problem that the Chinese are blocking bitcointalk.
Imagine how you would feel if down the line your stake was terminated because of this.

are all decisions made by the Developers as per say usual or was the fact that all members would have a say.
Will there be a vote on this delicate matter.
