Feeling a bit lonely on https://www.minep.it/pool/btm

We can't have you being lonely Smiley  Just chucked 100mh/s at the pool. Hey, why not.  Cool graphics and lower fees than the other pools.  Plus it helps to spread the hash around.

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

That's great. Smiley

We really do need more people to mine at MineP.it and miningpool.co. They are both excellent pools who should be receiving more hashing then they currently are.

Having 5+ pools evenly spread out would be nice. And the variance would be fine as well.

Although we have informed everyone that we are currently under testing and our systems are still being refined, we have still had several requests for hosting, due to this we will start to offer hosting on a per request basis and will be calculating the BTM charge manually.

If you require hosting please either contact me via PM or by email at bct@cryptocloudhosting.org

I'm using it right now and it was extremely easy to switch over and get set up. Highly recommended Smiley

Good to know the Hash is getting spread around.

MineP.it - That is a nice looking pool you have there. It is refreshing, I like it!  (Note: When you get a chance, could you please update all the Bitmark/BTM Logos. Thanks)

Welcome back Mark !

Yes, we should be welcoming Mark back soon.  Smiley

Also noteworthy, our community continues to grow both in numbers and in conviction. Our network grows healthier with every passing day and the Market has seen steady volume increases.

I remind everyone that Bitmark strives is to earn value through actions, not speculative hype, but rather by focusing on quality and fundamental widespread adoption. Mark and the Bitmark Project Team are marking this happen! We appreciate your resolve, with thousands of Alt-Coins to choose from, the fact that you are here "reading this" speaks volumes, and we wish to reciprocate this commitment by releasing many great things in the near future.

Thank You

I've been mining a little at the xHASH pool and it all seems stuck on unconfirmed (36 hours after my mining contract finished). Its not a lot but I'd like to get access to it if posssible, any suggestions?

The coin is stuck at a really high diff at the moment and it will take 2 or 3 days for the required 720 block confirmation. When the diff change comes, coins will fly out the door as all the whales will jump back on the coin. And then the slow/fast cycle will repeat.

Is it worth looking at modifying the diff algorithm to avoid this?

Ah, that would explain it, thanks. Agree it would be nice to avoid that cycle if possible, its a bit of a pain...

Yeah.. I'm thinking along the lines of leaving the confirmations at 720 blocks to discourage the multipools and the whales as they would still have to wait a day to get their coins but changing the diff retarget to say 120 blocks so that the diff changes 6 times a day.  With only 120 blocks it makes it even less attractive for a "hit and run" attack on the coin as by the time the whales and big pools switch over, most of the blocks are gone.  I think that would lead to a much more stable hashrate.  The true believers would ride out the ripples (rather than big waves) and the get rich quick brigade would find it all too much trouble.

Wait it out, or mine consistently whatever the difficulty. The purpose of our long maturation and equivalent difficulty is to remove incentive from speculative short term miners. If people drive up the difficulty and then have to wait for 2-3 days before they can get their reward to dump, it's value is unknown.

Mining is a service where those who mine consistently receive the lowest overall average cost and the greatest overall gains.

This post explains far more clearly.

For now we are still in semi-speculative times, as demand increases so network will stabilize, drops only really occur in the early stages. Current transfers are not so bad, it is still faster than bitcoin, even running at one third of the target speed. We certainly are not stuck.

On the positive side, we have over 3 GH/s of service providing consistent miners, that is no small achievement. Thank you to all of you.

Thank you for publishing, I hope it is comprehensible as it outlines an important part of Bitmark's future.

Update

1. I am now unbanned from bitcointalk, which is nice.
2. Receiving extensive feedback on Marking from a Professor of Economics tonight, his initial feedback was extremely positive, I look forward to discussing it in more detail.
3. The Bitmark Foundation fund now stands at 3685.8817 BTM of 70k target
4. Pfennig has been updated to support full alerting and also git archiving - it's now consistent with bitmark v0.9.2.2
5. Bitmark checkpoints updated at 30688
6. Brain Wallet and Address Generator released.

I'd like to publicly say that I unintentionaply marked a PM I received from coinsolidation as spam thus leading to his ban. It was a big misunderstanding and would like to apologise for any inconvenience I caused. By all means he did not do anything that was worth a report to a moderator. Have a nice day.

Hey Smiley

Thanks for stopping by. Like you said, it was all just a misunderstanding and it's all in the past now. We can move forward with our project like it never happened.
