I have setup a p2pool node with the p2pool code i have found in this thread but i can't test it because i don't have scrypt rigs. And my small 4x750ti looks underpowered for this job. There must be minimum 10 shares send to the node after this the node can display stats. If someone with big asic want to give a short try, here is the node: http://p2poolcoin.com:9268

each block 17min/block? slowly than bitcoin It will be around 2 minutes soon enough. The network needs some time to adjust.

This is a really great coin with solid dev, but it has absolute no hype Not much point in hype. Better to wait for it to evolve. Or better get get involved and help it evolve. Yourself or anyone you know who might be interested. Everyone can be useful at this point. Especially people with coding or design skill. Also long term miners willing to point their hardware at BTM is very much welcome. In a few months people will be gearing up their own businesses based around Bitmark and marking. But until then there's a lot of work needed to be done.

Honestly: ideas, discussions, people looking to set up businesses in the future, or who have things they would like to see come to fruition, those are of primary concern, if we have that everything else falls in to place.

question re: difficulty. the network hash rate has dropped considerably over the past five days and the difficulty hasn't followed it. been sitting at 235 for a while now; unless there are some 12hour miners that are keeping it high?

It changes every 720 blocks. So in 173 blocks the difficulty will adjust to around 60.

Gridseed Wholesale coin of the week."This week marks history for GridSeed Wholesale, it is the first time we feature a non-altcoin concept as the coin of the week. The BitMark is an online reputation system that operates much like google +1's or Facebook "Likes". It's developer Mark works full time on this evolutionary platform which will forever change the way reputation is shared and monitored across the web. Although BitMarks operate on the same cryptographic platform that many others like LiteCoin operate on, it is far from just an AltCoin as some day your reputation will actually be worth something." 10% of orders when you pay with BTM, and for BTM owners who can prove they own some. Check the link for more details.

I have added a note to the OP, as follows: When reading this thread, bitmark is evolutionary over time, this thread was originally titled 'define' and merged the conversation from several other threads, when reading this please be aware that it is a discussion which defined the project, many posts you read below and things discussed changed, were dropped, or were added over time, you can track the growth by reading through. It was many pages in before the 'bitmark' you know today was even created, and several more before 'marking'. The project continues to define and refine what is being done every week, it is a living and evolving project. For example, in reply one you will see the mention of 'taxation', which does not exist, we defined it then found it would break backwards compatibility so moved to donations instead. This is but one example.
I realised after reading some articles about bitmark, that many people presumed currency specifications were set in stone, rather than being organic and evolving over time. I guess this thread is not an ANN with replies as is normal in this forum, but rather an ongoing discussion which defines the project's state, scope, and spec from week to week. Please keep this in mind, this is not the thread of a dev team thinking they know best as to what needs done and you watching them release things, commenting later after they are done. This thread's purpose is for YOU to define and suggest things, and have those things discussed openly with your peers and the growing community. Project Bitmark is organic, you are the team members, you guide the project and specify it, I (Mark) am simply a person willing to do the work when others do not or can not.

Mark, thank you for bringing this topic to the surface. Our evolving Bitmark Community continues to grow and as such, it is imperative that everyone understand this. We thrive on community input and new ideas relative to development, adoption, etc. are always welcome and encouraged.
