That's a good question. You may set any account as settler if you create the market via the API. By default the market creator and an account controlled by Fairlay is set as settler. The account that actually settles the market has to put the entire volume of the market on hold for 24 hours.

how do you settle user entered markets, like when will man step foot on mars, who decides it and settles it? and what if there is a dispute.  thanks for all the info!

There should be a specific way in my opinion to settle some of these disputes.

Your example "when will man step foot on mars" is not a good example because it could be 50 years before it happens and until it happens we won't know. Nobody would take that bet.

Problem is with bets like "Are both the England Princesses Both Pregnant and Due at the Same time"? Which appears to be appearing in many tabloid magazines.

Basically Tabloid magazines are usually false, but how would Fairlay handle this situation since technically , its in the news and could be true.

Hence, its better not taking any bets where the results aren't easy to prove.

yes a specific source used for settlement or something. It seems like they would deal with disputes constantly.

fairlay is it possible to get a json template for a market maker for the API or a collection of APIs people are using maybe???

i have emailed 5mbtc over the past week with horse racing wagers that were incorrectly graded and they just suck at repsonding.

wish this book took their customer more seriously

i have had 2 wagers that were supposed to be refunded according to their rules, due to a scratch horse.

for example so this race https://fairlay.com/market/14-10-redcar-2/?referral=6c23e3b8-4c4b-4a49-8623-023f48bbade7

ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE was scratched at the gate (as confirmed by at the races) and no REFUND WAS GIVEN!

so please provide a refund for this wager

14:10 Redcar   1.920   ON 6 Rathbone   30.000   08/01/2018 09:09   -30.000   08/01/2018 09:30

here is proof of the scratching:
http://www.attheraces.com/racecard/Redcar/01-August-2018/1410

here is the 2nd wagers that needs to be refunded

19:10 Wolverhampton   1.628   ON 6 Grey Spirit   9.990   08/03/2018 14:09   -9.990   08/03/2018 14:30
19:10 Wolverhampton   1.169   AGAINST 7 Parting Clouds   58.859   08/03/2018 14:09   -58.859   08/03/2018 14:30

here is the proof of the scratch:
http://www.attheraces.com/racecard/Wolverhampton/03-August-2018/1910
. CLUB TROPICANA was scratched here

i mean how long does it take to get a refund? 3 days? 5 days? this support is just horible

i love the book, and onjen from support is great (he says he has nothing to do with email support). but this book needs to get their act together on responding to emails in a timely matter

especially considering i am as a loyal customer as can be!

i also got an email from a person at 5mbtc who told me dont email unless i have 5mbtc in the account so he can deduct

i dont understand, do you guys charge me for misgrades that were supposed to be refunded? i dont get it.
i dont understand their attitude

please dont get me wrong, I TRUST fairplay and will be a loyal customer. but their 5mbtc email needs to be changed. this is no way to give support.

This is exactly the reason why our support is not free: so we do not get buried with cases, where the user is not 100% sure about the misgrade and just likes to poke around in the dark because sending an email doesn't cost a thing.

Because you are a valued customer, we took a look at your cases despite your account not being funded. Anyway we found that all markets were graded correctly.

For example ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE was trading at odds far below 2.5%, so all bets stand.

Please understand that we cannot respond to your emails until your account is funded.  Thanks!

WAS THAT HARD TO GIVE ME AN ANSWER? I WOULDNT HAVE TO ASK MULTIPLE TIMES IF YOU GUYS JUST ANSWERED THE FIRST TIME and what about this wager?

here is the 2nd wagers that needs to be refunded

your complaining because someone is emailing about their wagers?
LOL, what a joke of an operation

by the way, fairlay you are wrong
in these wagers it says on betfair the horse that was scracthed was 11.0 odds - so a refund is due to the customer

What markets have 2% commission?  Normal is 0.25%.

Read about the on-hold rule in our FAQs

Here is Fairlay's unusual settlement policy - under the FAQs, under Info. I was wondering why my funds were taking so long to settle. I placed a larger than usual wager, so a big chunk of my balance is held up for 24 hours. Bummer.

#6 Additional Reserved Funds after April 1st
After April 1st 2018 the amount (stake + winnings) of the largest market settlement of the last 24 hours is not available for betting, transfer or withdraw.  This means that you can only withdraw your entire bankroll if 24 hours since your last settlement have passed. Only the largest settlement is considered, other settlements have no influence on your available funds.

This rule is intended to protect Fairlay from occasional missettlements, which are usually corrected within 24 hours. Exchange and Dice markets are exempted from this rule as missettlements do not happen in these categories.

The amount put on hold is designed in a way that no user can obtain a negative balance if any single market, that was settled in the last 24 hours, is resettled to a different outcome.

In June 2018 we will implement an option to opt out of this rule for an additional non-reducible commission of 0.1% on all market net-winnings.

i've noticed that when I click to Confirm a wager, it doesn't give me a confirmation notice. It just sits there and the little bubbles flash and no money comes off my balance. I have to go into my orders to see if it has been accepted or not. If it is, if I then refresh my screen the balance gets updated. Anyone else have this glitch? It's been happening to me for some time now. I'm using Google Chrome on Mac OS X. Thanks.

We will look into it asap.   Did it happen in market, search  or card view?  Do you have a link to the market where it happened?!   Thanks a lot for your help!
