If we can get in on this in the next 4 days: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=235329.msg0;topicseen#new
Could be very beneficial. Face value 16 BTC, min bid (as of this post) 1.75 BTC

Heh.

Request to make a motion for a full BFL refund, and another to just auction off the entire preorder.

Sadly this is not in our best interest, because they will refund in USD when we paid in BTC.

I will be happy to raise a motion to auction off the remainder of the BFL hardware. Can someone second this here before I raise the motion?

Please raise a motion to auction off BFL hardware pre orders.

This seems like a bad idea to me. BFL has begun shipping Singles and we still have 7 upgrades on order right from very early on, right? What was the order number again? I don't think there is a better alternative than just waiting on BFL at this point - maybe hedge with some AsicMiner shares?

Edit: Oh... Read the whole thread. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=236794.msg2515499#msg2515499

So does that include you, Garr? I know you're "first" depending on interpretation.

P.S. Does BFL Josh actually have the authority within his organization to refund your order without your expressed consent?

Actually, I got a shipping notification on that order today, the 1656 order that Bit-Pay confirmed to be first.

This order doesn't belong to Cognitive or myself though, because it was originally my own and I've sold it already.

P.S. Does BFL Josh actually have the authority within his organization to refund your order without your expressed consent?

Honestly, I do not know the legalities of this. I see it as a wrongdoing, as many BTC were put forth to secure this order.

Josh has agreed not to cancel any orders I placed, so this should in no way affect Cognitive.

My sincere apologies go out to all Cognitive shareholders who may have worried over Josh's threat of canceling our orders.

That Jody lady is quite rude in that post....I bet it's BFL_josh Smiley

I mean they are shipping units around a year after order and like 9-10 months after they were initially promised. I believe customers have a right to be angry.

She should be a bit more professional. Sorry that this isn't exactly relevant to this thread.

"Shipping Singles SC's from Jun 23"

https://forums.butterflylabs.com/blogs/bfl_jody/

Does this mean our Singles are on the way or our FPGA's are in transit?

Our Singles weren't ordered until later, unfortunately. I'll definitely post an update when I get a shipping notification!

Also, there are at least two people who want to sell me their batch three Avalon order for 80-90 coins. There isn't enough time to raise a motion so I'll informally poll shareholders here: Do you think we should purchase ~80gh Avalons for 80-90 coins each?

My vote is yes; they are supposed to be shipping very soon.

Cheers,
Garrett

Are the coins we have earning interest in any way? Such as using CoinLenders, bonds, or AM shares?

I was also wondering about this point.  We should be investing our reserve coins rather then just having them sit idle.

I also vote yes to purchasing the Avalon chips.  Time is so critical at this point and we may never have an opportunity this good again.
