I said it is not in vain in this thread about QT SILK. On the first page of this topic have a picture with QT version 1.1.1.1 for SILK, then this theme still has a connection with my question. Another wanted to clarify whether any exchange of the DarkSilk to Silk?

I'm a huge fan of open source and the such but struggle to understand how you can work for months on something like darksilk to then share the codebase so that some hack can swipe it and call it their own.

IMHO for any company/coin/whatever to dominate there has to be some trade secrets.

Why not release basics of project still with significant bugs on github but then compile finished product for release?

And for everyone chomping at the bit to flame me, I'm just opening up a discussion regarding work/recognition.

thanks,
john

in my mind:
one thing: open source, no scams can be hidden.
if closed source, who would trust you?

it is sure that there will be clones using this work, like crave ibm guys are waiting.
but these are the rules of the game.
closed= scam
open= valid and cloned

I know where you are coming from. Crypto has become a cess pool of scams and thus the open=valid but this still detracts from the innovators becoming the stars that they deserve.

Is there a way to be mostly open and keep the true/key solutions proprietary?

IDK, these hacks that ride coat tails and might dwarf the originators success because of better marketing or bigger budgets only perpetuate the problems with BIG corporate and the 99%/1%.

On another note I am very thankful for all the work and look forward to DarkSilk. You guys are pushing the envelope, I only hope the recognition and riches follow.

Someone tell me how to sync the wallet SILK to the end.

I suggest ensuring you are on latest build 1.1.1.1, clearing your roaming/silk folder(save wallet.dat first) then sync from scratch.
Lose the config file as well.

I am not running a config file & get 19+ connections.
Here is my getpeerinfo.

it means i cant delete it for some reason. so made an ambiguous poll.  if theres something worth polling for let me know and i can change it.  else for now vote for nothing but ambiguity itself.
