 try giving the wallet a restart.  are you using an old wallet.dat? or is this stuck on a fresh new one?

I'm using an old wallet, from previous release.
 I need to do it in the console?

You need to use the latest release, this is probably your problem  Smiley

Sorry my friend.
I'm using an old wallet.dat on the new release.

I'm still locked on block 563522

  if you have two computers run the old client and send the old coin to the new synced wallet. (do not move over wallet.dat)
else you can try dumpprivkey and then import private key.  there has been some issue with corrupted wallet files from 1.0.9.2

  if this does not help please email me hanzlambrecht@gmail.com and I can repair for you and send back coins.

Latest issue:

I'm staking constantly since the beginning of the year and today is the first day that the wallet is using more than 30% of my cpu.
It has never happened before.

I'm using the latest wallet on Win 8.1 64

Anyone looking to buy mining gear, check this link. https://cryptothrift.com/auctions/scrypt-asic-crypto-mining/asic-scrypt-miner-13mhs-w-600-watt-psu/

I will also be adding a few 1.3Mh/s Fury's & a couple 35Gh/s R-Boxes.

I will take any currency in my signature as payment and use an escrow source if needed.

Great stuff John! I will be contacting you once the silk multiple is launched. Plans have been made to give away mining gear to encourage participation in the silkpool.

Regarding the high CPU usage question.

  Were you receiving large or many stakes at the time?

And currently has the CPU usage lowered and stakes returned to normal?

 lolt me know as if that's the case the problem is apparent.

 Likely still has to do with time problems.

   Everyone please ensure you are on the correct time.

 and equally, if you are using a proxy.

  For instance, have dedicated proxy connection to Toronto.  but you live in Washington.  the internet time is only correct if you select the time zone of your proxy.   If someone is before the time while staking it causes the chain to speed up and dish out many more stakes causing higher CPU usage.  also causes issues with peers and syncing.

  Further, anyone who is still on the 1.0.9.2 (old devs) client can cause further issues with the chain, syncing and staking.  Every node is important especially in a tight knit community like us.

    more then likely (as the old mintpap wallet still exists and further possible wallets) there is a whale that is on the incorrct time..

the work around has been.  me buying as many coins as I can and building stake wallets to stabalixze the network.  As well as all of you who are currently staking and have so honorably updated to the most recent version with correct time.

    so.. my computer went offline during Christmas and yet again recently due to underground fires destroying lines. lol

so difficulty drops dramatically and would assume is the cause for high CPU usage and also assumed increased stakes.  Which I'm sure for ya stakers is awesome but for the chain is a thorn in its side.

   This issue among others will be resolved when the updated client is released but for the interim please let me know if the CPU usage has reduced and during high CPU time if stakes increased.

  And please ensure your clocks are set to internet time at the appropriate proxy location, are on the current client, and keep on staking. We are a tight knit community in more ways then one. (-;

  Oh also if anyone noticed luckyalt.com is gone.  Yet again good old Hanz tastes another scam. Lol
  If it comes back up dont use it.  Believe I was the only one other then quantum who lost coins there.
If anyone else was hurt by it let me know but much didn't happen in the short time frame.
I'll delete the posts for luckyalt promo soon.

  This Camel aaint never gonna Stop this Marchin

I'm receiving quite a lot stakes and still experiencing more than usual cpu usage.
It's starting to be quite annoying having the fan always on.

Hallo my friends.

I downloaded the new wallet.
Then I do:
Code:
10:17:56

Welcome to the Silkcoin RPC console.
Use up and down arrows to navigate history, and Ctrl-L to clear screen.
Type help for an overview of available commands.

10:24:47

checkwallet

10:24:50

{
"wallet check passed" : true
}

10:25:08

repairwallet

10:25:08

{
"wallet check passed" : true
}

But I'm stop to block 563522, 14 days ago. With 7 active connection.

  hey sorry should have looked closer at your blocks.

  use the bootsrap https://github.com/palmd/silkcoin/releases/download/1.1.1.1/Silkcoin-Win32-Bootstrap-584k.zip

will get ya past your stuck point.

oh sorry.  delete everything but your wallet.dat in the silkcoin folder.

 to find silkcoin folder.  search %appdata% then click roaming and will take you to your hidden silkcoin folder.

extract the contents or the bootstrap into this folder and restart client.

@everyone

I read on the CANN thread about there being Opal wallets containing a remote access trojan that has not been detected by AV & Malware software. It sounds like at least on person on the CANN thread lost coins.

I can't vouch for the validity of the claim but definitely something to investigate if you have an Opal wallet.

added a bit lighter version to the git

https://github.com/palmd/silkcoin/releases/download/1.1.1.1/Silkcoin-Qt-Win32-1.1.1.2-Installer.msi

if first time it loads up blkindex error restart it

will stake less often but for more.

removed more bloat so should reduce cpu usage as well.

re: silkroad.  have looked into it and is currently the black sheep of the darkweb.  tons and tons of warning about using it and has been removed from the darknet index with strong warnings against it.

I am not certain of its validity based on the warnings.

Will keep researching.

Silkroad 3.0 is not even run by the same people as the original silk road or the previous silk road 2.0, its up to them what currencies they want to use, but Darkcoin is now one of the official currencies they accept.

"Marketplace url:
~Banned~
Notes:

Silk Road 3, Silk Road Reloaded, or any other site using the Silk Road name after the shutdown of Silk Road 2 (which was also a scam site), is a SCAM and should be avoided at all costs.

The only reason a dark net market operator would have for naming his or her site after Silk Road is to create a false sense of credibility to attract inexperienced users and steal their money. No site or URL using the "Silk Road" brand name will be listed in this list or anywhere else on DeepDotWeb. I have labeled Silk Road 3 url with a warning, since many people are still falling for that trap.

The Silk Road Brand is Dead. If you want to find a reliable dark net market, our Dark Net Markets Comparison Chart is a great place to start."

Im not sure if this is the truth or not.

Bit of a flame war on reddit about this.

And yes beleive theyve added around 8 alts now.

That information does not appear to be overly reliable, i know for a fact that the previous 2.0 site was not a scam, and it was shut down specifically for the sale of illegal contraband there.

Yes there are lots of dark web sites that are probably alot better than silk road, with alot more sales volume and products, but silk road wont go away any time soon, if one gets shut down another will appear.

BTW, the DRK community seem to be rather happy at this news:
http://www.tripwire.com/state-of-security/latest-security-news/silk-road-reloaded-adopts-i2p-anonymous-network-and-darkcoins/
