ha im pretty sure you coined the name

also, just thinking out loud here, i might go through and compose a list of all my posts in this thread.... they probably all need to be deleted so no one can slip in malicious wallet links. I figure if im still not back in by the end of the week i will start looking for a window to jump out of.

Hi guys - sorry I've been inactive for a fair while with one thing or another.

I just thought I'd mention we're now accepted on https://giftoff.com/ - so you can use your HYP for buying a hell of a lot of things - especially if you're UK based!

I was buying a lot on there before Christmas with my BTC, but now that you can use HYP as well.... it's great!

https://www.bitbill.eu/ - this may also be another valuable link-up to pursue. When I get the chance, I'll see what I can do. Pay all your online bills anonymously Wink

I was wondering where I might be able to help with some of the work on the improved in-wallet Block explorer you have been working on, I'd like to contribute somewhere after all the help you guys have given.

Right now the in wallet explorer code is closed source. It might stay that way depending on how a few things go. I have been focusing on some blockchain analytics and not quite sure I want to throw it all out to the public.

Fair enough, is there something else I could help with instead?

I would love to get cracking on a new project I have in mind. The ability to change your wallet's staking setting (split threshold etc) over the blockchain. So I could send a transaction from a wallet address, and if the staking wallet is set to watch that wallet for a certain comment, then it will change settings. I might start working on that project, but I also have a few other things in mind too.

I was thinking about this a little more and if you were able to use a watch-only address to change your settings then couldn't you also use that as a remote for your wallets, say to send to other addresses etc. What about across other Blockchains? Couldn't you also pretty much any other Blockchain as well like if you wanted to use your BTC wallet to send HYP somewhere else or even remotely control a bunch of different wallets from different Blockchains?

Yes and once the infrastructure is in place it could expand to launching scripts on your desktop that do things that are unrelated to HYP, such as restarting a program or something of that sort.

Hey um i've compiled the wallet on my Rpi 2, got the bootstrap and launched it, but i get a white screen with the hyper logo on the top left corner. Seems stuck. Not even sure i can exit from the window too. EDIT: i pulled the plug. Backing it up now.
Any suggestions to make it work properly?

Make sure you compile from the github.com/hyperstake/hyperstake repo. Other than that I am not sure. I have only really run daemons on smaller arms, you might want to consider doing that yourself.

FYI we do have the v1.1.0.0 Raspi wallet that has been compiled by sluppy. Feel free to test it out https://github.com/hyperstake/HyperStake/releases/tag/v1.1

Found the issue while installing another wallet. The fact that the bootstarp takes long to load mixed with the ui going fullscreen was making me believe that it was somewhat broken.

Installed precompiled version, i get this:

Code:
HyperStake
Unable to bind to 0.0.0.0:18775 on this computer. HyperStake is probably already running.
Code:
HyperStake
Failed to listen on any port. Use -listen=0 if you want this.
Terminal log:
Code:
QGtkStyle was unable to detect the current GTK+ theme.

The QString errors have been fixed in the newer wallets. But it shouldnt be impacting your ability to start up the wallet. When bootstrapping, your client is supposed to hang on the splashscreen for quite some time.

K. Compiling again.
Edit: Found one problem. The deamon was running the whole time and preventing the wallet from starting.

Heres the other one:

Code:
EGLFS: Unable to query physical screen size, defaulting to 100 dpi.
EGLFS: To override, set QT_QPA_EGLFS_PHYSICAL_WIDTH and QT_QPA_EGLFS_PHYSICAL_HEIGHT (in millimeters).
EGLFS: Unable to query screen depth, defaulting to 32.
EGLFS: To override, set QT_QPA_EGLFS_DEPTH.
Segmentation fault
where am i supposed to set those parameters?

I usually do that. I'm kind of an impatient guy, if i see a splash screen with "Loading bootstrap plz wait" i get mad. Whereas if i leave the wallet running all night i have the lil thingy that says exactly the progress and how many blocks are left.

Can't help yo with that one, but the "can't bind" error ALWAYS means an instance is running. In most versions of linux (don't know RPi, so I could be wrong) you can type "top" in a terminal and it will show you all running instances of everything. If you see hyperstaked when you shouldn't, note down it's PID number, exit top by hitting ctrl-c, and then type kill <PID>

It took me FOREVER to find that simple little trick, so forgive me if you already knew it Tongue
