Hi,

Is the 'days to stake' estimate accurate in coin control?

I've not staked anything yet, only just got this coin, so wondering if using that to block them into groups would be the best way to make sure they stake, rather than using the calculator for optimum if they would never get enough weight.

No it is not an accurate estimate since luck takes its big part in this game. It's just an estimation.
5000-10000 size blocks are doing fine with current diff. You have to group your coins in blocks that size.

Its accurate statistically. But your are right, there is so much luck involved with hashing, that it is impossible to say this will stake in X amount of time.  But this should at least give a general idea of the time frame it would take.

New Wallet Release 1.0.9.2 - Not Mandatory

I am releasing a new base client. The latest two releases have both been beta's that as expected had some bugs in the. Those bugs are now fixed and a new base version of the wallet is ready to replace the old one

This version does not include any of my new staking code yet. That will be coming in the next little while and will probably be released as another beta wallet for those of you that like testing my new code (you know who you are   ).  

A BIG thanks to Rob Van Mieghem (allejupa on irc) for porting HYP over to the autotools format for this release. This will allow us to keep in sync with bitcoin commits much easier.

- Turn off irc node discovery by default
- add getconfs, potentialstake & getweight RPC calls
- fix address book display of send-to-self and stake tx's
- add more information when hovering over a staked tx
- add more delay time for less GUI lag

Thank you for this release presstab, and thank you allejupa for your contributions as well! 

Personally, I can't wait to get my hands the improved staking code. Something unique to High PoS coins, and particularly noticeable with HyperStake (as the network/holders are consistently competitive and difficulty keeps climbing), is that one needs to hold a lot of inputs and in large sizes, in order to have regular staking.

At the extreme of the scale (a massive amount of inputs in a variety of sizes), PoS starts to vaguely resemble PoW, in that the stake hashing process is not negligible use of resources anymore, as the computational intensity rises. Optimizing the stake hashing will effectively be a 'green' feature, as it reduces CPU usage.

I'll continue my pursuit for the ideal balance of input size vs number of inputs, to enjoy the most cost effective staking performance.
With just a few exceptions along the way (the occasional lucky or unlucky input), my previous estimates appear to have been doing very well.
My average stake time for the past month has been at ~20 days, which is exactly what I was aiming for. I'd call this an "aggressive" stake profile, as I'm staking on average, at 2/3 of the maximum weight for the inputs. A more "conservative" profile would aim towards the ~30 days average (in other words, full weight), resulting in less reward being capped, but also longer time to stake (thus less compounding).

I had been suggesting a few weeks back, that we need to keep an eye on the average weight necessary to stake, and that the smaller inputs would eventually become "too lightweight to ever stake". I see that some people have dropped the age on their small inputs and pulled the trigger to combine them into larger inputs.

I'm sure this could be extracted from the blockchain. Personally, with blocks between 1000 and 2500, my staking age is all over the place, into the 4x days for the oldest ones. I've got half a dozen blocks waiting at 5x days old...

I have some older code I made that will extract the average weight from the chain over the last X amount of staked blocks. I will see if I can find it

I have also been aiming for 20 days staking as estimated in Coin Control.  Meanwhile diff is creeping up.  Nevertheless my staking seems to be happening at approximately 15 days on avg with the occasional block near 30 days and many more around 10 days.  Most of those blocks were in the 4k to 5.5k size range and I have been rolling over the stakes and not splitting blocks in anticipation of increasing diff which.

I stake 24/7 as my comp is always on and mining Monero with the CPU at 100% for many months now.  It's a low end modern Pentium chip which can handle being maxed out unlike the newer "i" series which need to operate at lower temps.

I'm not sure, but why would you want to? When you set stakesplitthreshold, it is written to the wallet.dat so is persistent after restarts (assuming thats what you were looking for)

There isn't currently a mobile wallet for HYP. I don't know too much about mobile development. I have heard of running Ubuntu on and Android phone, maybe you could do that and then do it?

I stake several times per day and I managed to have only one block at more than 30 days (a 1666 block) with my new average size of 10K. But with 10% interest, I am considering going back to 9000 (already done) and even 8000 (today I combined my first at 8000).

I'm glad to see so coding getting consistent, where a lot of coins stop coding after the pump (or even before)

Regarding the address deletion issue: I just compiled from source and... no difference. It is possible this is related to my interface bug (no main menu wth file etc.) although it seems unlikely.

I'd like to mention that Myriadcoin is interested in porting OpenAlias (What is OpenAlias). HyperStake would miss the "first Bitcoin fork with OpenAlias" prize but it would then be easy to port it too.
