All staking coins that are descended from Peercoin and Novacoin split the blocks. Hyperstake allows that to happen at certain thresholds and not at lower ones. To my knowledge, this is unique in staking coins. But splitting is normal.

OK, so I've staked 4291 Hyper for 8 days, states it's Minting now...I've noticed that you should use 4500 minimal, does a chart exist showing how long to wait and how many coins you will average in staking? Basically, I'm confused.

Best place to look is at hyp.presstab.pw, it will give you a good example of what is currently staking. Look at the weight chart and see what the typical weight staking is (looks like 150k is typical). Weight is approximately equal to the age of your coin block multiplied by the amount of your coin block. When you click into an individual block (click a block hash or height, or go to the block page) you will see the individual stats on that stake. Also make sure you are talking about HYP/HyperStake not HYPER/HyperCoin.

Preliminary markets page is up. The goal of this page is to be able to see all of the markets in one orderbook, see arb opportunities, easily check prices from mobile, etc. Still has some work I would like to put into that page, but I am happy with the progress I made. BTC Thailand and some of the other API's I will code into it soon.

I am looking for a command line method to set that changes the minimum block splitting size. I do not want the blocks to get to small. What is the command / method for doing this?
Thanks

Decide the minimum size you want your blocks to be spit to. For example if I dont want blocks smaller than 5,000 HYP, then I would enter setstakesplitthreshold 5000

I deposited 4291 around 11 days ago, nothing is staking....."getinfo" states "Not staking", so how does one get the coins to stake? All the other pos auto stake, does this not? Should have started at 8-9 days right?
