Just noticed something interesting...

- HYP can still be deposited and withdrawn on Poloniex
- XMR/HYP market still exists

0.1 BTC will buy you around 580k HYP (BTC -> XMR -> HYP) at an average price of 0.00000017 BTC

Note that I can't confirm it will actually work, but if anyone wants to grab some more before it's all done, give it a try... Cryptopia has nowhere near that volume.

Interesting. Not nearly as much volume as the BTC market. Going to try and trade it.

If you believe that then people would be mining BTC for nothing. lol. The value of anything is the community that supports it.

You are right, but except you, I can't see an active community, even if I guess that this is the time to be more active than usual!

It's people like me, I'm super guilty about just logging on and reading what you guys have to say, and not throwing any useless input into the mix.  Too bad there's not a stat on the posts of how many people have read it.

Here is the reply I got back after submitting a request for HYP to be added to BITTREX:

Quote
Thanks for the request. Our policy is to not comment on whether we will launch coins but we only add coins under active development with high community demand.

We gauge demand based off of tweets, hash power, length of bitcointalk thread, volume on other exchanges, etc. Follow us on twitter @bittrexexchange and tweet about how much you like this coin and Bittrex. We respond to creative and insightful posts to help market your favorite coins and Bittrex. I'd also consider coming to our irc channel #bittrex on irc.freenode.net and do some guerrilla marketing. The traders there can help you gain exposure for your coin.

Thanks,

Currently the volumes are lower than in cryptopia, plus is XMR and not BTC, so it is an extra step.
From my point of view it does not make any sense.

It might be an extra step, but it keeps me from signing up at a crappy exchange like cryptopia, and can still sell / buy them on polo. Plus with the recent upswing of XMR that may not be a terrible thing. It is cheaper (currently) on Cryptopia, so might be a good idea to buy from there and arbitrage or hold what ever your choice is at this point.

I run a staking asset through burst coin, and had HYP as one of my main coins, so this puts a serious dent in the amount of dividends it would pay out. If the price can come back it will help, and maybe people knowing that HYP is still available on polo just on the XMR market, may help push the price(s) back up closer to what it was when the announcement came out.

Today I tested cryptopia with 0.02 BTC I boug some HYP and I helped to rise the HYP volumes a bit there!
I have to be honest at the beginning I tought cryptopia wasn't good at all, but it ain't so bad!
Be careful it is just 2 years around, don't keep there big amounts, but it's ok to trade there.
Now it is the main HYP exchange!!

HYP/XMR has disappeared from Poloniex now.

When I last checked about 12 hours ago the effective BTC buy price (BTC -> XMR -> HYP) was 13 satoshis.

I know the two guys running Cryptopia. They are good to go. For the number of coins they have on there they are doing a damn good job, but the volume is still pretty low compared to Polo or Bittrex.

It's been around for ages and I've never heard any horror stories about them, maybe it's about time they got a little more respect.

I've been using them a lil for HYP since polo's announcement. The more I use it the more I like it, the "orders" tab to the left is super handy to keep track of diff coins I'm trying to trade.

lol not too mention if the people who were trading HYP on polo traded it at the same rate on Cryptopia we'd always be on the front page...probably at the top most of the time  Cool
