However, it also means there is more competition for a for a limited number of daily stakes. Things should settle out over time as your blocks of coins continue to age and gain more weight up to 30 days.

It certainly helps to have more coins. It is a combination of the number of coins and their weight that gives your chance of getting a reward. Once you get a reward the coin weight for the block of coins that produced the reward resets to zero for eight days and then starts growing again until it gets to be 30 days old where it reaches its maximum.

For those of you that aren't on the slack channel, I am going to be implementing a governance system for HYP here in the near future, in fact I have begun writing the code already.
The plan is to have a staker activated voting system, that would be for most intents and purposes very similar to miner activated forks in bitcoin. So for example, I would LOVE to get rid of the X11 hashing of block headers (pointless extra resource consumption and longer sync times) and use SHA256. I plan on using the new governance system to have that fork precoded into the wallet, and only activated once something like 70% of the previous two weeks worth of stakes are signalling support (exact numbers to be determined). Once that happens, the activation would be automatic and no further updating of the wallet would be required.
I would like to have quite a few issues that we would be voting on all at once. Various forks that are ready to be activated if our stakers decide they would be good for the HYP. If the vote is no, then they would never be implemented.
This will give us as a community a solid way to work forward and progress the coin, without all the noise that can get in the way. These votes would be immutable and publicly seen on the blockchain. And of course I would add some RPC commands as well as an additional dialog in QT wallet that will allow you to select which issues you are voting for. I think it will be a pretty amazing addition to HYP.
Just a reminder that I will start working on the governance code for HYP in early September. This means that if you want to vote on issues about HYP (block reward, header hashing, budget system, block time, etc) you will need to get your HYP staking. Remember that HYP takes some time to age, so if you want to participate in voting, you should setup your staking now!!

i honestly thought header hashing optimisation and such wouldn't need bloody voting, kinda asking a long-legged blonde which braking system she prefers in her car bosch or lucas Oh can't help myself here. Dunno, Long legged or not Sabine Schmitz might well have an opinion. Alternative female blonde racing drivers exist.

Hello! I am new to Hyperstake!
I have a question:
What is the minimum balance I must have before I can even hope minting new coins? I ask this because in many proof of stake coins you never stake anything if you have less than several million coins...
Thanks for any help!

It's all personal opinions. I would say 200K divided into 10K blocks. My guess is you would see 1-2 stakes per week. I could be totally off. I always kept the block size large when I didn't have many coins, So I would insure they would stake, and as I got more and more coins I would decrease the size, so more of the luck factor comes into play.

Good to hear that and waiting. Thanks foro. I am happy to see that you have stuck with HYP for such a long time. There aren't so many coins out there like HYP that have long term supporters. Too many ICO scams chasing away the good guys now.

I will excuse your question. Synchronization of Wallet does not proceed and I am in trouble. I am moving on part way, but I will not get better after restarting. What should I do ... I am already worried that I am sending $ HYP.

Could you tell me if you know any other way? i will excuse my answer ) use nodes from here: https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/CoinInfo/?coin=HYP[/quote]

Or show us what problem you have with screenshots / pictures of the wallet.

Every stake is 1000 hyper, no little, no more. So at current prices 2000 hyper per week is equal to ~$3.5 per week. You can expect around %70 annual interest rate but it is subject to fluctuate. If you want higher quantity of stake simply buy more hyper.
