It will take 8.8 days before the coins are eligible to stake and I am not sure how long it will take to win a stake with 20K but be prepared to wait awhile.  I would keep them in one block as I do my splits a about 16k.  Hope that help a bit.

After some very rough calculations based on my own staking.  I would say you could get a stake nearly every day if you had 250k.

hyp has definitely been working the way it should... interest goes down as network weight goes up... and it's way up... so I always max out the 1k interest and have seen time between stakes grow slightly... so without further investment my wallet should start not staking very often...

that in itself is a drive to push more btc into the coin since you have to buy more to keep your stake weight percentage.

You should always use coin control feature in all crypto clients to minimize fees and control privacy as well.

I totally agree but it is just that you can happily get by without ever having to go into the coin control.  I have heard a few horror stories about people being unaware of the change address feature and using some coins from a paper wallet and then being surprised the next time they tried that only to find a empty wallet.
