Inching closer to 2PH/s...13million+ difficulty
Dat hashrate... And to think just 72 hours ago diff was around 500... EDIT: BTW my price prediction is 0.001 by Saturday Mine is 0.01BTC at end of PoW. Mine is 0.0420 BTC at end of PoW. Hope for yours then.

You can almost directly graph the price versus the difficulty when this bad boy ends POW and is only POS things are going to go bonkers.

Well I'll hope for yours then. I also hope for these prices as well... I will have a nice chunk of change if that happens But seriously though, we don't want too exponential of a growth curve... Sure it's nice to make money like that, but it is not healthy for any coin to do, even bitcoin. Bitcoin went full on moon mode by going to $1200 and look what happened... If/When the dev delivers the new/adapted innovations, we will definitely be at least up to 0.01-0.02. Also by that time, we may even have about a similar difficulty situation to PPC or other major SHA-256 coins. At this rate, we will definitely compete with at least PPC, if not Bitcoin in terms of miners. Remember that miners have to spend electricity and cover costs, which has a tendancy to give certain coins value where otherwise there may not be any. 2 PTH/s is not small by any stretch of the imagination, so I expect the price to go to at least 0.001 by next week. These are just my opinions, take them or leave them. I personally would be invested at any point from now until about 0.001-0.002.

Hello! I am part of BTCD community now and I happen to be developing a cryptonote fork to add anon features to NXT. It turns out that my methods should apply to BTCD also. I will be working on integrating cryptonote tech into BTCD, but it is more than "just" cryptonote anon tech as I am also making my solution include a near realtime exchange (InstantDEX) so people can directly trade just by running the coin. How will all this work you ask? https://github.com/jl777/pNXT has the current source code and it is rapidly being developed. Once InstantDEX is done, I will be adding Privatebet (peer to peer sportsbook) to the pNXT framework, plus the way it is implemented there is no reason any other number of useful services cant be added. My efforts are in parallel with all the other BTCD coders and I try to design a clever way to integrate to require minimal changes to the BTCD codebase. So, if I succeed, then all the peoples selling at current prices will not be so happy. There is no reason that other anon tech in BTCD can't combine with the cryptonote tech, in fact pushing tx through two independent anon algos would only help if it is done properly. So, I bring very good news to BTCD and now I expect a massive in increase in the FUD level James P.S. I am not so active on BTT, but you can find out more about me on NXT forums and jl777.org Will the cryptonote tech lead to any issues with blockchain bloat?

I am not so active on BTT, but you can find out more about me on NXT forums and jl777.org Will the cryptonote tech lead to any issues with blockchain bloat? yes, blockchain bloat is an issue for all cryptonote coins, however I chose the boolberry fork to base my work on as it was the most advanced as far as blockchain pruning and just being more efficient. However, I have a plan to use a blockchain FIFO to deal with whatever bloat issues we get. There is no reason to store the entire blockchain, but you do have to process it once. A FIFO is perfect for that, just set the FIFO size to the max lookback window into the blockchain dataset you need (of course you need to store all the keyimages, but that is smaller than the full blockchain). Then after loading the blockchain the first time, all that is left in memory is the FIFO. So as long as you have HDD space you are fine, not limited by system RAM James P.S. I am also toying with the idea of using the cryptonote blockchain as a sidechain and maintaining a decentralized ledger. Then we can simply toss the blockchain as soon as there is consensus. However, this is pretty tricky, so most likely not for the first version.

Its been less than a day since I got involved with BTCD and of course the price triples on me. We are almost 10% of bittrex volumes. Maybe I should say some negative things so the price comes down? Everytime I try to get some, people just outbid me like crazy monkeys. Stop that! I need to get some more. James

Bought it up to .0002, then up to .0003, then up to .0004, then up to .0005 ...you guys are welcome. I guess I wont be getting much more BTCD, maybe have to beg for donations? Anyway I was thinking of posting a tech roadmap, but I am afraid the price would go way too high too fast. How many are available for some testing? It will be command line level stuff, basically a text API to submit various commands. James
