Nice updates from jl777 over in slack today. (PM him with an email if you want to join the discussion!)

but within InstantDEX, the BTCD will be the default reference currency, due to several factors. Primarily due to the availability of sufficient inventory to provide liquid and low spread markets and its direct tie in to telepods, but also psychologically, I think having fewer zeroes in the price is good and it is much closer to the EUR than BTC, in fact I think it is very close to GBP. maybe that is biasing me more than it should

There you go! InstantDEX trading will use BitcoinDark as the standard trading pair! This represents the status BitcoinDark holds within this project.

With a zillion possible trading pairs, it is not practical to maintain liquid low spread orderbooks for all possible pairs, however (similar to XRP), if you have a reference currency that has liquid low spread orderbooks for all things, then you in effect get liquid pretty low spread (2 tx) orderbooks for all possible pairs.

So, instead of N*N orderbooks that need to be funded, just N

I chose BTCD to be the reference currency, cuz, its BTCD!

BTCD will definitely do better the better SuperNET does. The more people that use SuperNET, the more people will use BTCD and also there is the 5% revshare the BTCD stakers will get. My work with DB MGW basically gives me the list of staking addresses, so I can pretty easily calculate which accounts should get what percentage of the dividend.

Now just need to generate dividends to distribute. I prefer not to make any specific price predictions, but it makes sense for BTCD price to track the price of SuperNET, not in lockstep as that is not how markets work, but rising in tandem

currently InstantDEX is being added, it will look like a normal exchange, but will be decentralized
Telepathy GUI has also been mostly done
Teleport GUI is partway done

So, there are many different parts to it. Maybe we can release a wallet before all the features are completed.

Sorry James but I have just started interesting myself for all your great projects; so I am not yet fully informed.
Nevertheless, does your answer mean that soon my BTCD will be staking in the NXT wallet or will BTCD always have it's own wallet.

Thanks you  Wink

The BTCD wallet will remain for staking, but there will be a way to open the SuperNET GUI. It will be an option whether to even use the SuperNET. I expect with all the things people can try out that most will at least see what is possible

The latest shift for the BitcoinDark multipool paid out over 29 BTCD to miners on all three algos!

We need to have some more mining support over here at this pool. It's slowly picking up a little though. Prices are starting to climb so this is a good reason to point more hash at the pool. These prices won't last for much longer as BTCD and SuperNET are nearing their v1 release.

Cheers!

I agree that if there are steps that need to be taken above simply installing the wallet then those should be outlined specifically on the website.  Hopefully someone who knows what they are doing can remedy that.

As for modifying the BitcoinDark.conf file and putting that in the appdata, I did all of the above and the wallet is still slow.   There is no change whatsoever from performing the above steps.  My wallet was normal until about two weeks ago and then all of the sudden it started running slow.  It may even be slower after adding lines to the config file.  I don't know.  It shouldn't take four hours to download 1000 blocks of blockchain.  Nothing has changed on my end so maybe it's just growing pains with all the development that has been going on.

Hi, and sorry for the delay in responding!

It is a very common problem in the crypto scene that the instructions are either missing completely or are written from the assumption that the users already know what a .conf file is, where it's located etc.

I will be remedying this problem on a general level as soon as the new A.C web page opens.

Are you still having the same synchronizing problem? It sounds as if there might be a fork around; i.e. as if the block chain had split in two or more separate copies. One of the symptoms is very slow sync / download speed as the wallet software checks and dumps the blocks it considers invalid. I'm not saying this is the case but it is one of the possible explanations and should be checked ASAP to avoid further problems.

What's the difference b/w adding altcoin center's additional nodes and not adding it?
I got lazy and didn't add the nodes, but I am staking fine so I am just wondering.
Thanks

Sorry for the delay in responding!

In addition to providing as fast as DDoS resilient access to the block chain as possible, the A.C nodes also have the specific mission to be able to stay in sync with each other even if something happens that disrupts the intercontinental Internet traffic.

The nodes have backup connection plans in place that are depending on some level of Internet connectivity being available, but still being able to get around basic issues such as the normal routing tables of the mainframe routers getting messed up etc.

The rationale behind the design has to do with the potential forking issue described behind these links:

Making progress on the Windows SuperNET build. You can see the latest printout at:

http://textuploader.com/oe25

It is getting much further before it errors. It even initialized the db correctly Smiley

DB MGW is caught up but it is still in manual mode. If you have any pending tx, please post txid

I've been up for most of last 2.5 days so will need a bit of time to recharge. The good news is now I am setup to add telepod handling into the DB MGW, so this solves the telepod faucet issue. Additionally with BTCD being the reference currency in InstantDEX, there needs to be liquidity and autoconversion to all the other core currencies. And DB MGW is the place to put that.

Along the way, I abstracted the ability to generate multisig addresses and it might be possible to create multisig telepods, but that will be after the initial release. You can also now make a private supernet that is isolated from the main network. I had to do that so the production MGW servers can have same isolation they do now. Then it can be bridged to the main SuperNET using a special bridgenode and this will allow realtime MGW status, deposit address generate and even requesting deposit/withdraw to be processed.

I know everybody is impatient for everything to be done, but it is vital to have a solid foundation to build on and now the finish line for DB MGW is in sight, the next plank to be put in place are the MMatrix for InstantDEX, with some simple hardcoded tradebots. With this in place, the Teleport onramp/offramp will be able to be encapsulated into a GUI button so users wont have to deal with all the messy details.

You can follow the progress in realtime via slack, which is logged here http://104.236.15.119:8086/logs or my code repo at https://github.com/jl777  it is up to more than 40,000 lines of code that I have written this last 8 months along with another 100,000+ lines from other projects.

With the windows build actually building and almost initializing and the GUI taking shape, things are all coming together, but it will be a one new feature at a time sort of thing, instead of one day everything just works like magic. Oh, we also have a lively team really pounding on the API with both manual tests and automated tests, so this is quite a good progress as that is what is needed to find (and fix) all the bugs

Thank you for your patience. I know those who understand the software development process know what sort of timeframes are required for something of this scope. I am becoming somewhat of a bottleneck, but as soon as I complete the SuperNET core, then it will allow for massively parallel development to be deployed. Things are going pretty parallel even now, as you can see from:

Yea my wallet is barely syncing.  Not sure what to do but I'll try redownloading the wallet to see if that fixes the problem.
