Here is a script that you can use in order to compile and run a viacoin full node on Linux:
https://github.com/Azure/azure-quickstart-templates/blob/master/blockchain/scripts/viacoin.sh

I used it two days ago and it works fine.

Hey @Romano, any news on the segwit+auxpow implementation? How is the dev doing?  Smiley
It's going well, merged mining is close on being completed.
Good things can take some time.

Especially because it's never been done in altcoin land with bitcoin core 0.13.2 and merged mining!

More then 60% is completed for merged mining.

I've done 0.13.2 with merged mining about a month and a half ago: https://github.com/syscoin/syscoin2/commit/0e11c91be3b6186c1dab1c3312ab40bbd8cf96be

Take special care with version bits. Also before you pay the guy make sure the unit tests all run.. they aren't complete but should atleast sanity test the implementation. One thing I didn't do was block version bit 8 so the qt gui warns on every MM block but thats easy to do... and that's because version 8 is not a versionbit as recognized by chainparams.

Did you release 0.13.2 with merged mining? You make it sound like you released it but yet i so no release. Coding it a month and a half ago and still taking you so long to release? Is your code not working? Waiting for other coins to release it first? Please clarify what is taking you so long since u came here to brag about it.

Im not bragging.. theres nothing stopping me but its called a release process ever heard of it? The merged mining implementation was reworked and also i upgraded to 0.13.2 core and made some forking features after.. my unit tests were all broken because of the new features so it took a few weeks to finally get them to pass... now that its done i went back and patched master with the 0.13.2 segwit capable code aswell as auxpow rework and some ui fixes to prepare release to master and do an official release pending internal testing. Segwit requires signalling from the pools we are merge mined and the bitcoin pools are taking a wait and see approach so we just need f2pool to signal soon as we release the code and btcc has also shown interest in working with us to test segwit. Its not a race for me because we have tons of other code that needs to be cross tested with segwit id rather test it internally first before doing it on mainnet. I dont think i will be first but i want to make it right.. im sure some other coin will be first but i dont really put too much stock into that. For me segwit brings schnorr sigs for advanced alias multisig which i want for commercial integrations off multisig apps aswell as lightning networks later which im sure i will leverage later.

So yes i did it months ago but i hadnt time to sanity test as priority is innovative features im doing and not the race to be first segwit.

Romano said he was close so i think its pretty easy if your pool starts signalling the version will change.. i think another coin groestlcoin or something is on segwit already but dunno if any mined blocks.

F2pool will upgrade to Segwit in the next couple of weeks, getting the majority of the mining network to support it. You can read more here: https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/f2pool-litecoins-biggest-pool-will-upgrade-segwit/

Yes I already saw that article.
So in the beginning people were in doubt if F2Pool is ok with SegWit.

It's pretty much confirmed they will activate it.
Now if F2Pool activates it and some other big miners start mining on a SegWit ready pool, we are good to go.

I can setup a SegWit pool within 24h. Yes I did setup a SegWit pool for my dutch groestlcoin friends too  Wink
So I know my own Pool is SegWit ready. I will setup Viacoin for it too when 0.13.2 is activated. Just as an alternative for F2Pool.

Current hashrate is around 500 GH/s.
Activating SegWit doesn't sound difficult for Viacoin.

I haven't looked at the chat room yet but seeing it's a discord chat & a cat fish to "lure" me in (found it funny)...

But by seeing they use discord, it's probably a big trading room filled with edgy 4chan teens who "shit post" all day, glorify pepe & Trump all day. Don't get me wrong, nothing against it but if they used a catfish girl to get me in, you bet that a "major investment potential" is just an extra to get me in that chat.

But I will join in the morning say hi or something, answer some questions & show I'm a cool guy I guess.

Glad to see VTC getting a huge boost based on SegWit rumors. While it's unfortunate it seems they are ahead in the development (not that it's a race) I think it's positive to see the market react with strong demand off the news.

I can't agree with huge volume, the volume under 500 BTC can't be considered as huge volume spike. I am in Viacoin and I hope Viacoin adds SegWit, the news makes pump.
